During your pet's daily normal mealtime, you can mix a full dosage of the medicine Panacur which generally comes in a granular or powdered form with your pet's food in a bowl. After properly mixing it you can give the food to your pet to eat. If you find that they are not eating their food after the application of the dose you can immediately consult your pet's veterinarian for a proper solution. After the initial administration of the medicine, the veterinarian of your pet may also ask you to administer the medicine to your dog after an interval of two to three weeks to completely eradicate the remaining parasites. Panacur can be administered to the pets either on an empty stomach or with food. When administering this medicine to small animals the best option is to mix them with their food.

Fenbendazole

Febendazole inhibits or obstructs the energy metabolism of the disease-causing parasite. Other than dogs, the medication is also used in cats, puppies and kittens. The drug is available over-the-counter without a prescription and in the pharmaceutical form of granules.ย 

Considering the accurate bodyweight of the animals is important before administering the medicine. The usual prescribed dosage for the treatment of adult dogs and cats is 100mg/2.2lbs. For puppies and kittens that are less than six months of age, administer 50mg/2.2lbs for 3 days continuously. The medication is safe to be used in pregnant animals too; provide 25mg/lbs from 40 days of pregnancy. The medication should be mixed with food.ย 

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Dogs over six months of age should be dewormed at least twice a year with PANACUR Granules 22.2%. For puppies younger than six months, see product label. Approximately 1% of dogs had vomiting associated with the use of this product.

The clinical results prove that the drug has no side effects in animals. In the rarest of cases, certain animals with hypersensitivity develop vomiting and loose stools.ย 

Do not use the medication in animals that are hypersensitive to the drug or any of the benzimidazole carbamates, although there have not been any issues regarding drug interaction. Do not include uncooked meat in the petโ€™s diet. Pet hygiene is very important to avoid cases of infection and reinfection. Also, take care of personal protection as the chances of parasite infection getting transmitted to humans cannot be overlooked.ย
