Indications for Baytril Taste Tabs

Baytril Taste Tabs falls under the category of the broad-spectrum fluoroquinolons drugs. It is effective in the treatment of diseases associated with bacteria susceptible to Baytril Taste Tabs. Generally used in the treatment of bacterial infections occurring in liver, lungs, urinary tract, skin and prostrate, it works swiftly and rapidly, and prevents the bacterial action in the urinary tract. Baytril Taste Tabs also mixes with the serum concentration in the prostrate, mucosal epithelium and the inflamed tissues through penetration. Besides, it also gets diluted in the urine through the renal excretion, glomerular filtration and active tubular secretion. In the respiratory system, baytril works more effectively as its bactericidal effect is achieved even at low concentrations. It works by reducing the bacterial pathogens and thus inhibiting bacterial replication. Baytril Taste Tabs is also found to be highly helpful in the treatment of acute respiratory diseases like bronchitis and pneumonia.

Precautions

Baytril Taste Tabs should be used with caution in puppies. It should not be administered to pregnant and nursing animals as it can induce bone or joint development problems. Animals allergic to quinolone antibiotics should be kept away from this medication. In cats, the maximum dosage should not exceed 2.27 mg/per pound per day as there are chances of risks of altered vision or blindness. Be careful not to give this medication along with vitamin or mineral products.

Dosage

The suggested dosage for baytril taste tabs is once daily for 5-10 consecutive days. They can be conveniently divided into sufficient dosages based on the body weight of the individual patient. For effectiveness, the administration pattern should be one single application daily. Moreover it is the total dose and not the dosing frequency that matters. The medicine should be administered either on an empty stomach or 1 hour prior to or two hours after food. Maintaining hydration is also important.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions, drowsiness, diarrhea, dizziness, loss of appetite and vomiting are some of the common side effects noted. In patients with history of central nervous system disorder, there is the probability of seizures. In some cases, allergic reactions effecting facial swelling and hives are also noticed.
