Indications for Droncit 34 K-9

Droncit is a canine cestocide tablet found to be effective in the removal of canine cestodes. Tapeworm infestations like Dipylidium caninum, Taenia pisiformis, and Echinococcus granulosus can be effectively cured with the administration of Droncit Canine Cestocide Tablets. Besides, Droncit is also beneficial for the removal and control of echinococcus multilocularis. Droncit is considered to be the best medication in removing tapeworm infestations in dogs and cats. Droncit dosages differ in canines and felines. While droncit 34mg is usually administered in dogs, the felines require only 23mg dosage for treatment.Droncit 34 k-9 belongs to the category of anthelminthic drugs [dewormers]. It works by getting absorbed and metabolized in the liver, and finally gets excreted in the bile. The cestocidal activity of this medication commences once it enters the digestive tract from the bile. As a result of administration of Droncit, the tapeworms lose their resistive property and yield to digestion, thus failing in their action. A single treatment of Droncit 34 K-9 is usually sufficient to cure Dipyllidium infection in dogs.

Precautions

Puppies less than four weeks of age should not be administered with Droncit 34 K-9. Administration of injectable form of Droncit can induce pain, inflammation and swelling on the injection site. Do not use this medication on animals known with hypersensitivity to the drug.

Dosage

Administration of Droncit 34 K-9 tablets can be done either directly to the pets or by mixing it or crumbling it with the food. Dosage rates depend on the body weight of the dog. The dosage ranges from 1 tablet for dogs and puppies with a body weight 6 to 10 lbs and not to exceed 5 tablets for dogs over 60 lbs of body weight.
