Advantix is comprised of some of the most effective flea and tick repellants on the market - Imidacloprid, Permethrin, and Pyripoxyfen.

KEEP AWAY FROM CATS. Cats are unable to process the key ingredients in Advantix. They should be distanced from the dog for up to 24 hours after application. Some dogs may experience a burning, itching, tingling, or numbness of the skin after application.ย

May cause a slight irritation on the point of contact, but this usually subsides within a few hours. If pain persists, contact a vet. Oral contact may cause salivation. If K9 Advantix gets into you or your dogs eyes, flush with water immediately.

This sensation usually subsides within 3 days, however if symptoms persist, consult your veterinarian.

K9 Advantix is an effective, once a month flea & tick treatment that uses three types of medication (imidacloprid, permethrin, pyriproxyfen) to kill, prevent the growth of, and repel these pesky parasites. Imidacloprid is the most widely used insecticide in the world, attacking the central nervous system of fleas, while having little to no effect on mammals. Permethrin works in much the same way as imidacloprid, but against ticks, killing them on contact. Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR), which means that it prevents flea larvae from further developing into adults, thereby stopping the flea life cycle in its tracks.

K9 Advantix is for dogs only. K9 Advantix should not be used in dogs that are in a debilitated state, elderly, pregnant, nursing, or under 7 weeks of age. Dogs that are taking other flea and tick medication should not be taking K9 Advantix, and dogs with a known allergy to any of the ingredients in K9 Advantix should not take this treatment. Cats should NEVER be given K9 Advantix, as they are unable to process permethrin. Contact to this medication by cats can be serious and even fatal. Cats should be kept away from dogs taking K9 Advantix up to 24 hours after being treated.

The proper way to apply K9 Advantix is to take the applicator tube out of its packaging and remove the cap, holding upright so as to not spill the contents. Depending on your dogโ€™s weight, apply the solution in either 3 or 4 spots along their spine, between the shoulder blades and the base of their tail. Make sure to apply directly to the skin by ruffling their fur. Place a third to a quarter of the tubes contents in each of the spots of application, being careful to avoid dripping. Allow a few hours for the solution to dry before petting or bathing. The solution is waterproof, so once dry, there is no need to reapply if your dog decides to go swimming or is in need of a bath.

Ask your veterinarian or consult with one of our pet care specialists at 1-800-844-1427.

Have your dog stand to ease the application process and evenly distribute the contents of one tube on 2-3 spots along their back, between their shoulders and the base of their tail. Part their hair so that skin is visible and gently squeeze the solution onto the skin. Make sure there is no excess dripping, and allow 1 hour to dry.

Store Advantix in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children or cats.

My gsd husky is 73# and I've been applying this for over 2 years. He never had any issues with his skin or irritation. I start by applying on his back and work my way down as a rub it into his skin.i wear gloves to do this. Sometimes I forget to apply it on the exact date of the month and apply it a couple days later and no issues. Good product.

Good product
VERIFIED PURCHASER

I have been using this for my GS husky mix for almost 3 years. No allergic reactions or skin issues. He has been to daycare at Petsmart and was safe from fleas and ticks. He goes to the groomer and rolls around the grass in the yard and no issues with fleas and ticks. I prefer this product over Frontline bc its has a wider coverage such as mosquitoes coverage too. I prefer a topical medication over a pill such as Simparica Trio bc I feel it's less chemicals being ingested by my dog and it's cheaper than pills. I know that simparica and other pills have heartworm, fleas and tick prevention but the side effects of such pills are too many and risky. I'll stick to old fashioned topical ointment and a separate heartworm medication. This process seems to be working fine for my dog.

My dog is 75# and I use this once per month. Been using for almost 2 years and no skin issues. I like the full protection it provides versus Frontline. This one has a broader spectrum. I've forgotten to apply for up to 1 week and he has been fine. I also have applied on him a few days before the groomer bath visit and no problems. This ointment is waterproof and water resistant too I think. So far so good!

K
So far so good
VERIFIED PURCHASER

I've been using k9 advantix topical in my dog for about 1 year. My dog was 6 months old when I realized that we needed protections against fleas and ticks. He's mostly an indoor dog and it's not around other pets just humans so I didn't think he needed this protection. Hiwever I read that even when taking a walk and peeing in the grass or passing by another dog he can get those nasty bugs. I'm not risk it. I have kids and I don't want to deal with that infestation. I started using Simparica Trio but 1. It causes seizures 2- read bad reviews and 3- too expensive. Yes it has a broad spectrum of coverage bc it prevents heartworms. So I'm doing this topical cream along with another medication for worms. Some people want sowmthing easy for their dog on a monthly basis which I understand bc my dogo is diff sometimes when apphung this ointment but he vebtually let's me. I start on his back. Open his fur to expose his skin. Drop a small drop on the skin and smear it a little so it doesn't run. I do this in a straight line across his back all the way down to the tail. I use the whole product for each application. It's been 1 yr and no skin issues. I just watch him for about an hour afterwards to make sure he doesn't lick it. This is waterproof. Sometimes I apply it and take him to the groomers for a bath the next day. Directions say you can shower your pet and product stays in. I feel good that my I'm using this preventive product to ensure I dint have to deal with those nasty bugs. Product is pretty safe and no issues in 1 yr. I know other dog owners that have used this for many years woth no issues. It's a well established product and that's what I need.

Good for husky GSD

I have been using this topical ointment for almost 1 year. My pup is 17 months old. So far so good. I place a several drops along his back all the way down to his tail u til the product is completely gone. I watch him for a couple of hours until it dries so he doesn't eat it. No itching or allergies seen while using this product. Make sure it goes on his skin and not in his fur. I wore gloves and smear it a little bit after applying it. I like this product better than simpatica. For worms I use interceptor plus so I have full coverage but no side effects like simpatica that can chase seizures and cognitive disorders. There are side effects to with k9 and interceptor but they are less then simpatica. My dogo is doing good with this k9 advabtix product. He is 75 pounds. I use the e tire container for each application. 1x per month.

Great Product!!

I've used K9 Advantix II for dogs for many years through 2 golden retrievers and they never got any fleas, ticks, worms, or any kind of critters on their bodies. With all the hair they have, that is a major accomplishment! I strongly recommend this product, which in addition to working well is less expensive than competing brands.
