Food sensitivities have been growing in canines globally. With the advent of so many types of food, your dog's number of things can become allergic to has also increased. Food sensitivities have multiple manifestations that affect your dog. From skin and coat problems to stomach issues, food sensitivities can affect your dog's overall health.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Hydrolyzed Protein Hp Dry Dog Food can help alleviate some of these issues. This dog food is made with hydrolyzed protein to bypass the body's immune response to protein. The hydrolyzation process breaks down protein molecules to a size that sneaks past the body.

A dog can respond to protein allergies in many ways. One of the most prominent ways is skin allergies. The dog's skin becomes itchy, red, and inflamed. Your dog will scratch himself a lot, which in turn will cause rashes and cuts. Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein dog food reviews state a marked decrease in these symptoms.

Does This Food Only Help With Skin Problems?

Royal Canin HP dog food helps with other associated food sensitivity symptoms as well. Dogs who are sensitive to protein can experience gastrointestinal distress when they have ingredients from which they get allergies. Indigestion, lethargy, bloating, vomiting, diarrhea, and appetite loss are some common symptoms.

Appetite loss can affect dogs in many ways. Dogs need nutrition in their diet to keep their body functioning properly. If your dog isn't eating enough food, then he or she isn't getting enough nutrition! This habit can lead to nutritional deficiencies. In the case of young or developing dogs, you can run into developmental issues as well.

Royal Canin HP dog food soothes a dog's upset tummy with a unique and proprietary blend of soluble and insoluble fibers. These fibers fortify a dog's digestive system and support healthy bowel movements. This food reduces the occurrence of diarrhea and can cut down on bloating and gas too!

When feeding Royal Canin Hydrolysed Protein dog food, you should take care to check the ingredients list. If your dog is allergic to something, you should not give that to your dog. If you see a specific ingredient on the list that you think your dog might have an allergy to, speak to your vet before giving any to your dog.

You should also never feed dog food to your cat. Cats are obligate carnivores who need much higher amounts of protein than dogs. They also need trace nutrients like taurine, without which their organs slowly shut down. Make sure to buy the version meant for your cats if you need to feed your cat food with hydrolyzed protein.

If your dog exhibits any allergic reaction symptoms like hives and swelling, contact your vet immediately.

C
Resolved most GI issues for my 10 yo Golden
VERIFIED PURCHASER

This food took away the melena in stools, reduced the number of bowel movement from 4-5 to 3 per day, which was Jackโ€™s norm before the Gi issues started. He really likes the food, which makes this transition easier. I also got the canned to give as treats or stuff into a nylabone since this diet is so strict and all other foods and treats have been taken away. Overall a big positive although not 100% resolution. Oh, and the poops are all different colors, which throws me off, but again, seems better and havenโ€™t really gotten soft stools much. One here and there.

It works!

My Shetland Sheepdog was having digestive "issues" (loose)...his veterinarian prescribed this food, vs extensive testing. Problem solved! Andy enjoys it, especially with some warm mixed to make have some "gravy".

A
The food has been a lifesaver for my dogs and their digestive issues.
VERIFIED PURCHASER

My dogs were prescribed the food because of digestive and skin allergy issues, which are pretty common in Treeing Walker Coonhounds. The food has helped their digestive issues tremendously and they love the food! The skin issues have not cleared up as I had hoped but, at least, their digestion issues have!

Love how well this has worked for our dog.

Our dog Leo has bad allergies. He has had hives and raw pads on all four paws for over a year. We have tried everything from lotions to foods, diet after diet and nothing has worked. Until we tried this food. His hives have disappeared after a month of eating this and he is so happy. No more benadryl or OTC allergy meds. No more anti itch meds just so happy to have our dog back to being himself!
