How Long Does It Take for Dasuquin to Work in Cats?
Answer

Dasuquin for cats takes four to six weeks to start work. This joint health supplement for cats might respond sooner in some cases. For cats under 10 pounds, you need to sprinkle one whole capsule into their food daily. For cats over 10 pounds, two campuses of these joint supplements are needed each day. You can also administer the capsule on alternate days, depending on your catโ€™s joints, and how well the medication has responded.

What Are the Side Effects of Dasuquin for Cats?
Answer

There are no known Dasuquin side effects in cats. This has been confirmed by the manufacturers themselves after evaluating various safety studies in cats. Hence, it is safe to claim that the drug has no adverse reactions. However, you should still stop administering the drug when you notice something off with your cat. This can include vomiting, diarrhea, or allergic reactions. Although there is nothing to worry about, you should still consult a vet immediately if you notice any of these reactions.

Can Glucosamine Cause Liver Damage?
Answer

Yes, glucosamine can cause liver damage, but such cases are very rare. Liver injury due to glucosamine or chondroitin is very unlikely. However, there is a chance that glucosamine can do serious damage to the catโ€™s liver if it has a pre-existing liver condition. Even then, controlled doses can be administered, but that too needs to be approved by a vet first.

What Is Dasuquin Used for in Cats?
Answer

The Dasuquin sprinkle capsules are used to improve a catโ€™s joint health. Nutraceuticals like Dasuquin help cats deal with pain and inflammation in their joints. The medication then works its magic to heal damaged cartilage which in turn helps improve joint health. Dasuquin comes in capsule forms, and you are to administer one or two capsules a day, depending on the catโ€™s body weight. These capsules contain natural and artificial flavors that enhance their taste. From tasty chicken to natural tuna, these flavors are there to make sure that the cat food does not smell or taste like chemicals when you mix this medication with it.

What Is the Difference Between Dasuquin and Dasuquin Advanced for Cats?
Answer

Both Dasuquin and Dasuquin Advanced are used to treat problems in joints. This includes everything from inflammation to joint pain. These two also have a similar key and active ingredients. However, there are a couple of notable differences between the two medications. Firstly, Dasuquin Advanced also consists of turmeric, omega-3 fatty acids, and frankincense along with other ingredients. And secondly, unlike Dasuquin, you cannot purchase the Dasuquin Advanced off the counter. You will need a vetโ€™s prescription to buy the Advance.

Is Dasuquin Safe for Diabetic Cats?
Answer

Yes, Dasuquin is safe for diabetic cats, as suggested by various lab test results. However, you should maintain caution while using the drug. That is because Dasuquin is a glucosamine supplement, something that can increase blood sugar levels in cats that have diabetes.

Whatโ€™s the Difference Between Dasuquin and Cosequin for Cats?
Answer

The main difference between Dasuquin and Cosequin for cats is that Dasuquin contains ASU that helps in the prevention of cartilage erosion. Cosequin does not have ASU. Other than this, the two are quite similar in terms of functionality as well as effectiveness. They are both joint supplements and are used to help with inflammation and pain in the joint regions.

Can I Give My Cat Glucosamine Chondroitin?
Answer

Yes, you can give your cat glucosamine chondroitin. It is generally safe, with certain gastrointestinal side effects.

Are joint supplements good for cats?
Answer

Joint supplements can be beneficial for cats who are experiencing joint pain or stiffness or for those who are at risk for developing joint problems. Joint supplements can also be helpful for pets of all ages, as they can help support joint health and reduce the risk of developing arthritis or other joint problems as they age. Some common ingredients found in joint supplements for cats include glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and omega-3 fatty acids. These ingredients can help reduce inflammation, improve joint mobility, and promote healthy cartilage and joint function. In addition to joint supplements, there are other ways you can help support your pet's joint health, such as providing regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and feeding a balanced and nutritious diet.

What can I give my cat for her joints?
Answer

Glucosamine is a natural compound found in healthy cartilage and can help support joint health and reduce inflammation. It's often used to help manage arthritis in cats. Glucosamine supplements can be found in various forms, like tablets, capsules, and liquids. Chondroitin is a naturally occurring substance found in the cartilage and connective tissue of joints. It helps to maintain the structure and function of the cartilage and can also help to reduce inflammation in the joints. Chondroitin supplements can be found in various forms, such as tablets, capsules, and liquids. Omega-3 fatty acids: Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that play a vital role in maintaining the health of various body tissues, including joints. They have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and pain in the joints. Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish oil supplements or in some specialized cat food formulas that contain high levels of omega-3. MSM stands for Methylsulfonylmethane, which is a naturally occurring compound found in some plants, animals, and humans. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce pain and inflammation in the joints. MSM supplements can be found in various forms, such as tablets, capsules, and powders. While joint supplements can be helpful for managing joint pain and stiffness in cats, they are not a substitute for proper veterinary care, and any underlying joint problems should be diagnosed and treated by a veterinarian.

Is glucosamine OK for cats?
Answer

Yes, glucosamine is safe for cats when used as directed and under the guidance of a veterinarian. Glucosamine is a naturally occurring compound found in healthy cartilage, and it can help support joint health and reduce inflammation in cats. While glucosamine is generally safe for cats, you must choose a product that is specifically formulated for cats and follow the recommended dosage instructions. Giving too much glucosamine or giving it for too long can cause side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Additionally, cats with certain health conditions, such as diabetes or kidney disease, may not be good candidates for glucosamine supplementation. If you are considering giving your cat glucosamine, you should first have her evaluated by a veterinarian to determine the underlying cause of any joint pain or stiffness and to determine if glucosamine is an appropriate treatment option for her specific needs. Your veterinarian can recommend a specific product and dosage based on your cat's individual needs.

How can I protect my cat's joints?
Answer

There are several steps you can take to help protect your cat's joints and maintain her joint health. Keep your cat at a healthy weight. Obesity can put extra strain on your cat's joints and increase the risk of joint problems. Feeding your cat a healthy and balanced diet and ensuring that she gets enough exercise can help her maintain a healthy weight. Providing your cat with a comfortable and supportive living environment can help protect her joints. Providing soft and comfortable bedding, providing easy access to food, water, and litter boxes, and minimizing the need for jumping or climbing can all help reduce the strain on your cat's joints. Regular exercise can help keep your cat's joints flexible and healthy. Interactive playtime and exercise can help promote joint health and reduce the risk of joint problems. Providing a litter box with one low side can help make it easier for your cat to access the litter box, particularly if she has joint problems or mobility issues. A litter box with a low side can also be beneficial for older cats who may have difficulty climbing over high sides or for cats with other health conditions that may affect their ability to use the litter box. As your cat ages, you may consider adding joint supplements to her daily routine to help support her joint health. Supplements such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and omega-3 fatty acids can be beneficial for cats with joint problems. Schedule regular veterinary checkups: Regular veterinary checkups can help detect any joint problems early on and ensure that your cat receives prompt treatment if necessary.

BEST PRODUCT EVER!!!
VERIFIED PURCHASER

Dasuquin has truly been a quality-of-life saver! My 10 year-old cat was acting more like 20 because of joint pain in his hip and leg area and because of the pain he was in, he didn't want to socialize or interact with anyone in the family anymore, which was heartbreaking for us to see. The vet recommended Dasuquin and it wasn't long before he was bounding around the house again like a kitten - NOT exaggerating! The pill is odorless/tasteless if you open it up and mix it into your cat's food, which is a blessing cause while I could shove a pill down my cat's throat for his own good, he wouldn't see it that way, you know? But 2 years down the road here, we've changed his nickname from Mr. Gimpy to Kitten because that's how he behaves. Highly recommend this product!

My cat started on Dasuquin about 7 months ago. It seemed to be helping her a little. I noticed since she ran out she is beginning to show her limp a little more. I do believe that she is actually doing better when she is on this.

Dasaquin for cats/dogs
VERIFIED PURCHASER

My dog only weighs 8.5 pounds so I give her the cat dasiquin for dosage that's her size since the dog version (which is the same medicine)only comes in a larger pill/dose for large dogs. I just open capsule and dust her food with the medicine and she eats it right up. I know that it works because dog sitter didn't give her her meds for two weeks when we were gone and when we got home she was in some pain that she normally doesn't have when taking the pill every day

Great for Old Cats

Have been giving Dasuquin to my 14 1/2 yr old Norweigen Forrest cat for about a year. My vet reccomended it and I have been pleased with results.. Bit was unable to jump into chair and had some trouble getting over high sides of litter box. Now she has no problems getting wherever she wants to go.
