Cats are curious creatures. They are intriguing on all fronts and they’re a joy to have around the house. There’s a lot of mythology and speculation surrounding the life of cats, their general behavior towards people, and their ability to appear so nonchalant about everything, all the time. Cats seem to be pretty content with themselves. They love their alone time and unlike dogs, their happiness doesn’t primarily depend on our presence. However, when they do want attention, they can be really clever about asking for it. So clever, that even if you tried, you’ll just not be able to say no to them.Cats have a way of denying you attention so when they finally give it to you, you have no choice but to oblige. Over the years, there’s a good chance that your cat has come to expect certain things from you. But that doesn’t mean you should spoil her every time she gives you attention. It’s all part of her plan. Instead, cut back and oblige her every now and then. Pamper her but don’t outright spoil her. Here are a few ways in which you can pamper your feline friend.
- Give her time. You’re an understandably busy person. However, your cat also needs some outlet. Although she may not always show it, she enjoys your company and values your presence. So give her your time. Take a few minutes out of your day to indulge your cat. Have a play session with her. This will strengthen your bond with her as well as increase her mental health on the whole. Regular play session s also keeps her mind and body stimulated, preventing boredom, depression, and obesity.
- Provide her with lots of hidey-holes.Cats love hanging out in the tiniest of places. They can somehow fit and mold themselves perfectly to fit into a nook. Get her a cube or a condo so she can continue basking in her personal space. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, even a little cardboard box could do.
- Give her access to the views from the window.Cats love watching life go buy. It’s a little bit of a hobby for them. This keeps them entertained and prevents them from getting bored. They love the great outdoors. But some cats are more hesitant to step out than others. Having a view will give them a safe space from where they can enjoy the outdoors without actually having to be outside. Invest in a good cat tower by the window. Another thing you must have noticed about your cat is that she loves heights. She just loves to watch the mundanity of life from her high tower. This gives her a sense of power and control.
