Are you very much a dog person but not quite a playing fetch kind
of person? Getting a dog can mean that you will have to run
around a lot. If youโre not much into activity and rather prefer
laying in the sun and soaking in the calmness, an active dog
could ruin your weekend plans.
For all the lazy dog lovers out there, hereโs a list of some dog
breeds that will happily chill with you on the sofa, exerting as
little energy as you do.
Bulldog
Bulldogs are an extremely sweet and family friendly breed of dogs
that loves to laze around. These dogs are low-maintenance but
also low-endurance. They cannot tolerate too much heat or cold
and so, do not prefer the outdoors. This breed is just perfect as
an indoor family dog.
Basset Hound
This is another breed of dogs that engages in very little
activity. It is a short, stocky breed with very short legs which
makes them slow and less active. All they need is a walk every
day and that is about all the activity they have. This breed is
also a very calm and friendly breed that bonds well with people
and other pets too.
Saint Bernard
Saint Bernards are massive but equally gentle. This breed may
look intimidating because of its size but its nature is very calm
and patient. They are known to be highly intelligent and can be
great to have around kids for their gentle and patient
disposition.
Great Dane
This is again a giant breed of dogs that grows to almost 86 cm in
height. Despite its build, it is a totally laid back and relaxed
breed. This dog can work both to scare of intruders with its size
and keep the energy low inside your house, just as you like it.
All you need is a little extra space to accommodate this gentle
giant and a daily walk to keep it fit.
Pekingese
This tiny, super cute breed is very happily a lap dog. These dogs
love to cuddle with their owners and prefer no activity at all.
They require very little food and little exercise. Just a short
walk everyday is enough. They would probably be happier without
the walk, in fact.
Bernese Mountain Dog
This is by far one of the cutest breeds of dogs with the fluffy
fur and the gentle demeanour. Although this breed is supposed to
belong to the working group, it prefers staying in with family.
But you can also enjoy its company on a hiking trip or a trek,
since it is not completely inactive like some other breeds. There
are several other low-energy breeds that you can study about
before you find the perfect partner for your lazy afternoons at
home.

list. So, we suggest you do some more research on this topic on

be quite reserved. Also, they donโt grow too big. Their average
height tends to be 18 inches and their average weight is usually
around the 25 pound mark.

friendly.Hereโs a fun fact: Boston Terriers are referred to as
โThe American Gentlemenโ and itโs not only because of their black
and white fur patterns.
English Bulldog

for condo dwellers. Also, these dogs arenโt too fond of activity,
which means youโll likely find them taking naps or simply lying
down. You might think thatโs a stereotype because of how theyโre
portrayed on TV. But, those TV shows and movies arenโt wrong โ

thing because you wonโt have a noisy, hyperactive blob running
around the house.

exceptionally small, which means they are perfect for small
living spaces. Also, they hardly need any exercise and can be
carried around with ease. Theyโre quite loyal to their owners as
well. However, they do have problems getting used to people; so,
make sure youโre always present in a social setting.

because of their tiny size and sausage like shape. Their size
makes them ideal for a condo. Other than that, theyโre also
energetic and vibrant. Thereโs never a dull day when you have
Dachshund at home.
Cavalier King Charles
Spaniel
