So in 2022, I started scrabbling to buy this w/d multi-benefit with chicken wet cat food because I noticed places such as Petsmart, Chewy, Petco stock was hit and miss. My cat Tiger has been on this food for 10 years. I have been rationing Tiger's w/d wet cat food for over 1 year. I have called Hill's Customer Service and have been told the supply chain story and that they were going to have a new wet food mfg facility opening in 2023. But here we are mid 2023 still you cannot find this wet food at all. But strangely there is canine w/d wet food. In my opinion all of us that are holding out hoping for new stock of w/d wet cat food are going to have to find another formula. I am hoping that Hill's will assist with that because they are the best to know what other script cat food comes close to w/d wet cat food mixture.
by FrustratedWDWetCatFoodCustomer on 06/06/2023
do you sell this ?
by Cedar on 04/18/2023
The canned wet has been out of stock everywhere for most of the last year due to the 3 YO supply chain blah, blah, blah. My Vet advised me to just wet and mash the dry kibble so I've been doing that and it's working out pretty well for my two kitties. Please Hill's just give us an update sometime about the product or suggest a suitable substitute.
by Rocket on 02/07/2023
My cat suffers from what doctors assume is IBS. This product is the only food that helps her and that she likes to eat. It has been out of stock everywhere for the past 6+ months. I get no real answer from Hills except that there is a shortage of supply for this food. Hills needs to take this seriously and provide a timeline as to when this will be available again.

Vet put cat on this food for stomach problems. Had trouble finding it at first and now it's sold out everywhere. Have you discontinued producing this food?
by Sox on 08/11/2022
I have been trying to find more of this wet food EVERYWHERE! It is literally sold out on every website in every store. Does anyone know where to get this wet food? My cat isn't benefiting from eating the w/d dry kibble.
by Michael I on 08/02/2022
Chewy and others have been out of stock of the Prescription Diet W/D for cats for over 2 months. I called in last week and was told that their supplier could not get the ingredients. How can you claim to be interested in pet health when you don't control your own supply chain and operations. COVID is 2 years old. Maybe these people are just incompetent. Our vet is having trouble getting this product. I have asked our veterinarian to seek other, better suppliers. These people apparently don not have a clue. The product is very good, but if you cannot get it, what good is or the company.

This food did wonders for my cat's digestion and she has had no issues in the five years she has been on this diet. Suddenly it is unavailable anywhere with no explanation and has been "coming soon" on this site without any further information. Would like to be able to get some kind of update that would make planning a bit easier around my cat's dietary needs.

My poor kitty has chronic IBD and I have tried several different foods. This is the first and only food that seems to be helping her.
by Sassy's Mom on 04/18/2022
My cats LOVED this food while they were on antibiotic for stomach bacteria. 11/10!!
by tay on 10/04/2021
My cat doesn't like the texture of this w/d pate, she only eats 1 table spoon when we open a new can, she won't eat it if has been refrigerated, we tried many ways to reheat the food but still no luck. Such a waste. So she is still eating the c/d stew, wish Hill's make w/d in stew for cat too. (They are making w/d stew for dog!)
by Jane on 09/11/2021
Consistency of the food is wildly erratic. My cat adores this food when it is a firm pate and will not eat it at all when the consistency is looser. Lately all cases are the looser consistency he won't touch. We will not be buying this food in future.
by Noah's person on 06/06/2019
This has helped with my cat that if she eats any other wet food she gets diarrhea. Which the w/d everything is good. Just wish there was a couple more flavors of it, like turkey
by Ron on 02/25/2019
My kitten had diarrhea that wouldn't clear up for months. We tried i/d first on the recommendation of our vet, and when that didn't work she suggested w/d (both wet and dry food). That has helped greatly to firm up my kitten's stools and he likes it too (although he's not fussy!).
by Kats on 05/15/2017
I have been purchasing W/D via prescription for 2 years now. I only have one store I can get it from and must call them ahead of time to ensure it is available. My big issue is there is no choice of flavors. They only have chicken and sometimes all the cans in a case are very moist and sometimes all the cans in the case are not as moist and the food seems firmer and seems to satisfy my cats more. I supplement it with boiled chicken and high protein food.
by Twokatma on 12/22/2016
At one point the packaging changed. Since then this product has been very inconsistent. I feel it is good quality but some cases are moist and the cat devours it. The next case of food will be extremely dry and she has no interest in eating it. With having a cat on medications that are mixed in with the wet food this is very frustrating. The price is fine and I would recommend this product if it was the good WD every time (Consistent).
by justjd3 on 11/30/2016
my 15 year old cat had diarrhea, vet suggested prescription w/d. within a few days the diarrhea stopped...thank you
by sadiala on 07/25/2016
My cat has chronic diarrhea due to many medical issues and suspected GI carcinoma. This food has helped by controlling the diarrhea. While this food will not miraculously cure her but as a palliative source is great. All my healthy cats want it too.
by Darcie on 07/12/2016
Hill's WD/Chicken Flavor is well liked by my cat. She eats the dry as well.
by Idonothaveanickname on 07/11/2016
Good product. I would recommend a smaller can, such as a 2.5 oz. I also recommend a stew version.
by catnip64 on 07/09/2016
I have a 26 lb. cat. We feed him w/d from can and w/d in bag. He loves them both and we give him very little so he is always hungry, but he never looses weight. As long as he can maintain and be healthy, we are happy. He is just a large & active cat.
by Glojo on 06/30/2016
Good quality food that my cat's like to eat, and it's healthy for them too.
by Cat lady on 06/29/2016
The vet prescribed this several years ago for my senior cat. Since I feed both cats St the same time, both eat it. I wish u could return to a reasonablely priced alternative but the vet has convinced me your stick with this. Cats are relatively healthy. For a short period of time., I was able to access coupons but not very long & apparently not any more. That's too bad.
by issdaj on 06/29/2016
My cat on a high fiber diet and loves w/d but I give her 1/4 can a day and intersperse with 2 other high fiber products so she isn't bored.
by jstoneenamels on 06/29/2016
Hills w/d was prescribed for my male cat following an episode of bladder stones which required surgery. He has been eating this food exclusively for over a year, and is staying healthy. He has lost weight, so I think the calorie count must be low. I feed him a half can three times a day. I do find that my local retail store does not always have this brand, so I can't let the stock run down too low.
by mojos mom on 06/29/2016
its great for the cat but wish it came in smaller cans. We do use the dry food but our fella loves the wet food. Will only eat the scoops that come out of the can first. The rest goes to waste.
by Joshe on 05/16/2016
My vet recommended this food to help us manage our cat's weight. I have used if for nearly three years and our cat loves it and has kept her weight down; however, I am finding that the price keeps going up, and sadly we are now at a point where we really can't afford to buy it anymore. I would still recommend it, but with a caveat re: the cost.
by mejc on 03/03/2016
W/D has cleared up my cats itchy skin condition as well as helped with weight loss.
by AJ419 on 09/30/2015
I do believe my cat's health would not be as good as it is without your product. She is a 14 year old with intestinal issues and your product does help her stay healthy. However, since this is the ONLY food she eats (approximately one to one and a half cans per day), it is a significant cost to our family, especially since she is also on prescription medication for this condition. I would like to see some kind of "reward" system for frequent users, i.e.: a rebate after purchase of so many; more coupon availability for frequent and return customers, etc.
by Lovinlily on 09/15/2015
I contribute the overall health of my cat to this product. His coat is soft and shiny and he has the vitality of a much younger cat.
by Dart on 09/14/2015
My vet ordered w/d for my overweight male kitty. I knew he'd happily eat it because he eats anything! But what I wasn't expecting is for the other 3 kitties who are also quite "healthy" to love it too ;) Makes mealtime much easier if they choose to graze off of each other's plates.
by Jo9239 on 09/13/2015
It's kept our cat healthy for years. We will continue to use it as long as our boy is around.
by wizzkid on 09/04/2015
My 2 short haired cats eat this food...one on the slightly heavy side and the other of average weight. Cats are around 9 years old and have been eating this diet for about 5 years. It was was prescribed by my Vet primarily to help add (and maintain) the weight while reducing the high calcium blood level for the slighter cat. This diet has worked great. I also provide a treat once a day of the dry Hills W/D (same food only dry). Both cats scoff the wet and dry food.
by Catman01 on 07/21/2015
My furry baby cries for her food every morning and night and that makes me so happy because it means to me that she loves the food I buy for her. She can't wait to gobble it up.
by Reoki558 on 10/30/2014
His "catship" enjoys each meal and his tummy tolerates the w/d with chicken well. He goes crazy when his w/d dinner is topped with a touch of oil. It's an awesome hair ball preventive.
by BertieJay on 10/03/2014
For getting the weight off our tubby little guy it is working great and he LOVES it. I do wish there were more coupons available as it does get costly, but to prevent future vet visits it is worth it.
by DaMomma on 09/26/2014
My cat cannot wait for her food in the mornings and evenings. She has always been picky and this product recommended by my vet is the best I have tried.
by Donovan on 09/11/2014
This food keeps my cats weight under control and his glucose levels as well. Sometimes it has like rubbery pieces in it and I'm not sure what they are, I pick them out. I wish it came in different flavors and wasn't so expensive.

I have a 5 year old Apple-head Chocolate-Point Siamese male cat named Simon. He was a rescue and when I adopted him over two years ago he had terrible gastric issues including loose bowel movement and terrible gas. After examining Simon and reviewing his medical history and surgeries, my vet recommended W/D to me. Since that time, Simon has been eating W/D wet and dry food. A week later his gastric issues disappeared. Now, he cries twice a day if I am late serving him his W//D wet food, chicken flavor and gobbles it up. Thank you Hills Science!

Sirius, my black short hair male cat began moping around when he was three. It seemed like he got old overnight. Little did we know that he had some digestive issues. It was several years before we found a vet who diagnosed the problem. In that time he had gained weight from inactivity. At 21 pounds he was a lazy couch potato with whiskers. After going on a supervised diet of W/D, he gradually but steadily lost weight. It took almost a year, but he made it safely to his optimum weight of 12 pounds. Now he acts like a young cat again. He even jumps to the top of my cabinets. Something he never did when he was overweight and moping. The food not only helped him lose weight and keep it off, it has helped him with his digestive troubles. It's great to have my cat happy and healthy again. Thank you Hills!

One of my cats had a bladder problem and needed to eat the Prescription Diet w/d food. She loves it! and improved 100%. My other cat, who is a very finicky eater, loves it too. Although the food is expensive, it is so worth the money. My cats seem much healthier. The website has coupons periodically that helps with the cost.
by Gailey on 07/12/2014
My cat had a urinary blockage and was prescribed feline c/d. He gained a lot of weight, and our vet recommended w/d as an option. It has been years since his blockage with no relapse. Thanks from me and Max Dude!

Look very different than six months ago. Can food looked very dry and my cat used to love this same food totally hates it now. At first I thought probably just my cat changes her taste bud, but I realized that the quality very inconsistent, and most of the cans very bad quality
by Babe on 06/05/2014
At first both my cats (13 &4 yrs ) ate the food. This lasted about a week before they started walking away from it. Cats are very finicky and need to have other flavors. I currently add a teaspoon of former cat food to the Rx one in order to get them to eat.
by gmh39 on 05/10/2014
After a few months on this cat food my cat has lost the weight needed to be more active and helped him with is breathing too.
by luann44 on 04/28/2014
My cat has had issues with her digestive system. The w/d wet food has helped out tremendously.
by DebbieH on 04/26/2014
I wish the food came in different flavors. My cat does not like chicken flavored cat food and eats less then a quarter of a can a day because of it. The cost of the food is also high when you are on a budget.
by Scooter1 on 02/12/2014
Our 15 year old big boy was having GI problems. We refer to this food as his WD40. In any case, he has not been to the vet except for annual check-ups/shots and has been doing well on his WD40 diet.
by BudddyBoydd on 02/02/2014
We have been using W/D for our cat to help him maintain and lose his weight. I highly recommend this product if you want your cat to be at his or her optimum health. Not only did our can lose the necessary weight to remain healthy and active, he's also maintained the same healthy weight for a number of years. Thank you Hill's!!

my sisters cat is eating hills w/d that was recommended by his vet... now he is having better bowel movements and feels better... only buy hills prescription products as recommended by a licensed vet.. they know what diet is best for your pet !!! i was able to find a local specialty pet store that carries it and worth the money...
by alione on 01/12/2014
Great product! Helped cure Irritable Bowel in one of our boys. They both lost weight even though we use six cans a day for two adult cats. Costs us a lot each month. Our Vet and us belive Hills, the manufacturer should reward heavy users like us with coupons, etc.
by simplyliving on 01/02/2014
One of my two cats experienced constipation so the vet prescribed w/d. I feed both of my cats the wet and dry. My cat is doing much better with less problems with constipation. My only complaint is that the wet does not keep well. My cats eat it well when I first open a can, but by the third feeding, they will hardly eat it. I wish it was sold in a smaller can. It is so expensive and I am wasting a lot of it when they do not eat it well after it has been opened.
by TootsieS on 12/14/2013
Our kitty will eat anything, but most cat foods tear up his GI tract. We've tried other wet foods but always return to W/D. It's also his fav
by bertie on 11/28/2013
My cat had to be put on wet food after he had an operation to remove bladder stones. Everything he ate gave him diarrhea and he wasn't crazy about the food either. The Vet said I should try Hills W/D cat food and boy did that do the trick. He loves it and it cured the diarrhea completely. I couldn't say enough about Hills cat food, it's great.
by mwatocean on 11/24/2013
We adopted two six year old adult cats; our vet said they were over weight. Past experience has taught that it is better to address this before problems develop. We have been feeding Science Diet products (wet and dry) to our other two cats and were aware of w/d. Our vet agreed that this could be beneficial and prescribed w/d (along with w/d dry). We had been feeding Science Diet canned salmon flavor, which the cats completely loved. The w/d only comes in chicken flavor and at first all four completely rejected it, even when mixed with the regular Science Diet salmon. They have since come around and seem to enjoy the taste - the one who liked it the least now is the most eager to get it. About my ratings - I have fed Science Diet products to my cats for more than 30 years. I believe it to be excellent in quality. I rated the taste as average because our cats definitely prefer the salmon flavor, although with cats, taste is highly subjective. (as noted, w/d is only available in chicken.) I rated the value for the money as good because the w/d is significantly more expensive than regular Science Diet canned. I did give an overall rating of excellent because I do feel w/d to be a high quality product and of benefit to our cats' well-being. I would definitely recommend it for cats with weight issues.
by Katzenjammer on 11/01/2013
our cats are seniors so they have gained weight they don't need... As we all do as we get older. This food has taken off the weight and kept they healthy at the same time. Even my tabby with no teeth still loves her WD....
by Erinslite on 11/01/2013
would like to see more than just chicken. I also get dry food. I have occasional problems with resealable bag. Sometimes its difficult to open. Last bag I ended up pulling so hard the bag tore. Had to use other containers to store food in.
by maxkiki on 10/30/2013
I love that it has the correct pH for my cat with his urinary issues, but I wish that it didn't have so many byproducts in it. It is very palatable, but I would feel better if it was grain free or had no byproducts in it.
by leapoffaith28 on 10/23/2013
I had started my cat Camio on c/d wet since he had crystals in his urine. I put both cats on the same food since it is easier, even though Jack doesn't have these issues. But then Camio had thyroid issues and the vet switched him to w/d for weight management. I mix wet w/d with the dry for both. Inbetween I give them a little of t/d for their dental issues. I have been extremely happy with all the Hill's Prescription products and my cats seem to like it and are healthy because of it.

Thank-You Hills for the support, that my cats nutrition needs to have a balanced and successful life, in order to survive his seniors years! Thank-You Hills!

We have a cat that has stress and personality issues.. she was getting dehydrated and violently ill for no medically explained reason. she went on the prescription science diet for a few weeks and we immediately noticed a difference. It cleared up whatever issue she was having with her stomach. unfortunately it didn't fix her personality issues but we love her just the same :)
