We need smaller kernels for smaller dogs. My Daschund has difficulties eating these because of the huge size and is not appealing to her because of this. Kernels crumble if you try to cut them. I got around by cutting each kernel in half using a dog nail clipper which keeps the kernel in place. And, although still the kernel crumbles, it get smaller and I can fingerfeed my baby dog. I think maybe a pill cutter would work too. The size of these kernels is for large dogs like labrador or German Shepperds.

Our veterinarian prescribes Hill's Metabolic & Mobility Dry Dog Food for our two dogs. It works great for our Brittany Spaniel but the kernels are too big for our 7.5 pound Yorkie. We tried to make bites smaller in a food processor but it became powder. We soak it to make softer but would be so much better if came in smaller size too.

On the recommendation of my vet he prescribed this food to help my dog achieve his ideal weight. In conjunction with regular exercise my dog lost 60lbs and at 8 years old he has the stamina of a 4 year old dog now. If used as per the directions and limit unhealthy treats this food is a game changer.

My Siberian husky went from a skinny rescue dog to an obese adult within two years of me having her. My doctor put her on this food three months ago and she's already lost 10 pounds. We also no longer give any snacks or treats in between feedings and are very diligent about portion size of the food. I also gave the same food to my lab mix who was overweight and now with in four months she is at perfect weight the vet said having lost 15 pounds. This product does what it says. And they do actually stay full which is what my vet said would happen when I questioned the portion amount being so small. He said that whatever was in the food made them feel fuller and they are not begging for food . I don't know the miracle mix of what is causing this but if you have an overweight dog this money is worth it's weight in gold.

Bella is a lab/pit mix and just like many if us, she put know pandemic pounds....13 of them!!! So off to vet to get this under control. Our vet prescribed this food and exactly how much and Bella is down 4 lbs in 2 months....which is great progress! Besides the weight loss, her coat is so soft and shiny and she has so much more agility and energy. She is 6ish and is acting like a puppy again. Also her breath is much better and the smell of the kibble is yummy! Our cats beg for this food while we feed the dogs.

I adopted a morbidly obese lab mix. She couldn't even stand up long enough to eat when she first came home. The vet recommended this food. Within a month of switching her food, the vet said she was noticeably healthier. She's lost 46 lbs in 9 months and is a completely different dog now. Very happy and active. The kibble does smell very strongly, but she loves the taste.

Our 13 year old Labrador has hip issues / mobility issues, which of course due to reduced exercise put on some unwanted pounds. Our Vet recommended this food and it has helped him to shed the extra pounds and improved his mobility quite a bit. We still walk him (age appropriate and with Vets recommendation...he is slow but he walks). So happy with the results!

My 4 year old yellow lab was gaining so much weight and NOTHING we tried worked. We tried every diet food in the book. We thought she had a thyroid problem. Our vet finally recommended us to try this food and she has lost 25 lbs in 6 months. She is beautifully at her goal weight. Before, she couldn't even play fetch without limping around after a few runs and now she runs, jumps, plays and has more energy than she ever has even when she was a pup! (the good kind of energy!) It is a little pricey but it's worth every cent. I HIGHLY recommend it. She even does the happy dance when she hears the word "food" now and before we had to hand feed her because she wasn't happy on any other dog food.

We have a 10 year old Golden Doodle that was overweight and this brought her back down to where she's supposed to be. It didn't take terribly long either. She loves the taste and we're all happy that she can move so much better. It's like we have a young dog again...seriously.

My 13 year old golden retriever was a little over 80 lbs when I started this food She has always been very active, but with her weight and arthritis she wasn't getting around as well so our vet suggested this food. Within 6 months she had lost 25 lbs and is at her goal weight! She is getting around as is to be expected with her arthritis and honestly, without this food I don't think she would still be with me today due to mobility issues.

When our Maggie, a 4 year Old English Sheepdog, became less active due to hip pain, that led to gaining weight and stomach issues. Metabolic & Mobility dog food put her on the road to health again. We have been using this product for over a year now. 3 of 4 of my pitbull mixes are on this dry and can food. My youngest one "Bella" initially started it to lose weight and she has lost a total of 40 lbs. The other 2 eat it to help with their joints and mobility due to FHO surgery (Watson) and double ACL surgery (Sunday). They love both products and look forward to meal times. It has definitely given all 3 of them a better quality of life. My oldest (Girlfriend) is also on Hills prescription food and at one point was on the metabolic + mobility. Overall these products are great and have helped all 4 of my fur-babies!

My 8 yo spayed female chocolate lab has always been a little thick. She has had off and on issues with her elbow after rough play so that limited her exercise more. She has been on this food since late summer and has done amazing on it. She is down 10 pounds, and almost back to her girlish figure. She loves the food and the mobility treats. She seems more energetic on her own and is more inclined to play and "stir the pot" with the danes in our house that are much younger. I literally have done nothing more than change her food and it has worked wonders!

My vet is participating in a "biggest loser" contest for the chubby clients. My dog Damien, a 13-yr old Pit, was seriously overweight. I recently had to put put my one dog on this and then we switched our other dog to as well because she wasn't losing any weight being on the CD brand of food. My one that we switched to it will eat it but the one that was recently put on it for weight loss does not like the flavor or the smell. Which I don't blame her it does smell horrible. Plus I buy the cans as well so it gets very expensive because I also have a cat on hill dry and wet. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats so everyone being on different things and prescription foods plus meds very costly.

I adopted my dog from a rescue group about 2 yrs ago. She came to me in very poor condition, overweight, joint problems, and very apprehensive. She was supposed to have knee surgery on her right back leg after the left one was fully healed. After treating her with meds for pain and leg and knee issues, my vet suggested we try the new Hill's Metabolic + Mobility dry dog food. Within a very short period of time, she was off of all of her meds, slowly losing weight, and able to walk, run and jump without pain or discomfort of any kind. We are very happy with the results.

Our Labrador Retriever has started to gain weight after he turned 8 yrs, despite daily hourly walks and play time. We also noticed that he slowed down on trails with a slight favoring of one of his front legs. Our Veterinarian checked his range of motion and recommended this food. About 4 weeks later his weight is going down, he doe not seem hungry on this food and he is a lot more active again. Amazing food!

My 8 year old Sheltie has been showing in Rally for the past 6 years. He has qualified and shown at the national level for the past 3 years. I originally put him on Metabolic diet 2 years ago because of weight issues during the off season and it worked very well. Last year he began to have issues with jumping, which is a required element in our competition, and I noticed a stiffness in his movement. After having him evaluated my vet and I decided to try Metabolic plus Mobility in addition to his chiropractic treatment. What a difference! Even after his chiropractic treatments stopped his condition continued to improve. His movement is much more fluid, jumping is no problem and as a bonus his lovely black coat has never been shinier! I am able to feed this food to all by dogs. They maintain their weight and stay active all day long. I have several dogs of different ages, and the older dogs are able to keep up with the younger ones when they play. The large breed dogs do well and are as active as the smaller dogs. This a great product.

I am currently one week into a test of this product, my three dogs love it (so does the kitten). It hasn't been long enough to tell if my over weight Terrier will slim down, but my boxers seem to have plenty of energy and are looking great.

The food is just right for my dog. He is 10 years old with hip problems. This food seems to help his mobility, just like the bag states. The only problem I have is opening the bag. It has to be cut to open and this is difficult. I have cut three bags now and have only been able to cut one right. It is too expensive to have to have this much trouble to keep it fresh.

I have been using Hills Metabolic and Mobility for 5 months now and both my animals have lost weight, they were both about 10 pounds over weight and reducing their food intake with this food has helped them get back on track, now they have a nice body condition score. I have two dogs which are overweight. My golden retriever has hip pain and struggles with mobility. I have been using the prescription mobility and weight for about 6-8 weeks and both dogs have lost weight. They were not crazy about the taste at first but now seem to be fine with it. I do not see where the mobility has helped our golden.

This product for mobility and weight loss has been great for our golden retriever who has had mobility issues. He was overweight which didn't help. We gave him the metabolic first and he lost about 12 lbs. in a few months. We then switched recently to the metabolic and mobility to keep his joints in shape without gaining weight. So far so good. He gobbles it down with no issues. He is maintaining his weight and moving around so much better then before he was on a special diet. Thank you for offering this specialty food for my dog!

Our lab tore her acl and was gaining weight due to her limited movement. Her rehab vet recommended she loose 20 pounds. I thought it would be near to impossible since I couldn't take her on long walks. Once she started in the metabolic and mobility food she immediately started loosing weight and loved the food! A few months later she was at her goal and has maintained that weight for close to 6 months.

In July of this year, my 10.5 year old Labrador tore her ACL & had to have to surgery. When she was admitted into her vet hospital, she weighed 105lbs. On the day she was discharged she weighed 91 lbs & at her 30 day post-op appointment she weighed 84.5 pounds. We had been giving her this food prior to her surgery, but was feeding her a regular amount of the food. After her surgery, she has been receiving a lower, vet prescribed amount of food, which has lead to the result of her weight loss. I have noticed that this food has been an aid in her recovery & mobility.

Appears to have everything that I need in a dog food. It is a new product and we are only on our 2nd bag so time well tell if we control their weight as well as helping their joints. They love the taste, however it is expensive. I will continue to use as long as their weight stays under control.

My Golden lost 1.3 lbs the first month and his hips seem to be improving as well. 1.3 lbs doesn't seem like much - but he was gaining and gaining until we put him on the Metabolic Mobility. He lost the 1.3 lbs and didn't gain - that was a first. I use 3 cups of dry food and a third of a can of the canned food with it. He is my Service Dog and neither of us get much exercise. He really likes the food and that was important as well.

MiG is a seven year old, neutered male Border/Jack that all he had to do is look at food and he gained weight. Even though he is an active dog who runs flyball, he still seems to be able to pack on the pounds. We started him on Metabolic when it was first released. It took some time but he eventually dropped the pounds. His beginning weight hit 30 lbs. As of today he weighs a healthy 26.9 pounds. I had decided to keep him on Metabolic as a maintenance diet until Metabolic + Mobility was introduced. I figured the since he was a performance dog, he would benefit from the omega 3 fatty acids for his joints. We have switched him to that and he is doing great and loving the food!

Our Vet suggested this product and I was very apprehensive that this would work for my Chocolate Lab Mix. SAMMI is 10 years old, very overweight (from being a couch potato), and has hip dsyplasia. She was having trouble getting up and limped all the time---sometimes hardly able to get up from laying down. We had her on pain meds constantly and you could tell she still was in pain. After being on this food for a week, her mobility is improving (able to get up and down steps without problems) and she lost 5lbs! AMAZING is all I can say! This may sound strange, but she is a "happy dog" again. She is able to get around so much easier and seems to be in no pain! I realize this food might not work for everyone and is expensive, but worth trying it. This product has given her "quality of life" back to her! Thank goodness for our or Vet for suggesting this and that we trusted him enough to give it a try! Thank You Hills for caring about our pets and this fantastic dog food!
