Superfoods are those which are naturally rich in nutrients. These foods are especially useful for your dog and promote their good health. These foods are readily available and do not cost much. It is advisable to have a veterinarian consultation before you give your dog any of the following superfoods.

Sweet potatoes make an excellent superfood for your dog. A majority of dogs love to eat sweet potatoes. These tubers have superb dietary fiber and a lot of naturally occurring sugars. This vegetable contains antioxidants, which helps to prevent cancer. The effects of aging are also inhibited.

Kelp is a superb source of iodine, sodium, vitamin A, calcium, and folic acid. It is reported to enhance the dog's immune system and improve energy. A few researchers even contend that these algae assists in losing weight. Quinoa is another superfood for dogs. It is a nutritious seed. This grain is a superb fiber source and also of protein. Dogs can easily digest quinoa. Sardines are also good for dogs. This nutritional powerhouse is especially suitable for active dogs.

Eggs are regarded as an excellent source of digestible protein. They are rich in amino acids which are regarded as the building blocks of the body. Eggs are also a superb source of nutrients and vitamins which assist the heart, the eyes, and the brain. This food can also soothe many dogs who have no appetite. Bananas are the best food for athletic and active dogs. The natural sugars present in the fruit get quickly metabolized. This leads to an instant spurt of energy. This fruit is saturated with electrolytes, potassium, amino acids, and vitamin C.
