Thereโ€™s a new Muppet in town, and heโ€™s looking for work! We are delighted to see that Sesame Street has welcomed Brandeis the service dog to their iconic cast! His debut episode aired on October 12th. This timely episode came just after September, which was National Guide Dog Month.

Brandeis is a Yellow Labrador Retriever who recognizes his calling as a service dog after failing as a laundry attendant and floor sweeper.

Following weeks of intense training, Brandeis finally meets his human companion, Liliana, who is in a wheelchair. He helps her open doors, turn on lights, and even fetches her book bag. It doesnโ€™t take long for the pair to become close friends.

We here at PetCareRx are thrilled to see public television bring more awareness to the powerful relationship between service pets and their human companions.

Service dogs are close to our hearts, too: We've been doing our small part to support service dogs and the great work they do through our partnership with ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities).

ECAD is a non-profit organization that raises, educates, and deploys some of the best service dogs in the world to assist people, particularly veterans, with special needs. We supply these hardworking pups with their food, and frequently donate a portion of our sales to the organization. Visit the ECAD website to check out the great work theyโ€™re doing and see up-to-date pics of the newest class of puppies.

If you missed Brandeisโ€™s big debut on October 12, catch an encore showing onย November 12 or November 30.
