Just like human relationships, our relationship with our pets needs to be nurtured for the bond to grow stronger. So, if you really want to show your furry friend that you appreciate all the licking, playing, cuddles and most of all, the unconditional love, here are a few ideas to help you out.
- Have a fun day out togetherNothing will make your pet happier than if you spend quality time with them. Itโs the best way to show them you appreciate them, and itโs so simple. Take them out for a day and do a bunch of new activities together. You can go for a car ride, go to the beach or park to play, or go on a hike. Dogs, especially love this. If you have a cat, you can play with them indoors, or cuddle on the bed.
- Set up a play dateMany dog owners find that their pets love to spend time with other pooches, and the perfect way to make sure they have a good time is by setting up a play date. When you are free, call up your friends who have dogs too and invite them over to your place, or you can go to the park or beach. Your dog will be more than happy to see his/her friends. Most may think that cats donโt enjoy play dates. However, as long as itโs indoors, they wonโt mind having some feline friends over.
- Buy or make them tasty treats and dishesJust like how you would cook meals for people you care about, you can do the same for your pets. With a little bit of research, you can find out which foods are safe for your pet. Keep in mind that onions, garlic, raisins, nuts, grapes and chocolate should be avoided. You can even buy them a new treat that you know they will love. For instance, dogs like chicken jerky and bones, while cats love fish jerky and fresh chicken.
- Buy new toys and/or gadgetsShow your pet how much you love them by buying some new toys for them to play with. Dogs love to play with things they can run around with/for, like a ball or a Frisbee. Cats, on the other hand, love feathered toys, yarn balls, catnip or a toy mouse. Did you know that there are super cool gadgets for your pets too? Thatโs right. You can now buy tech-enabled toys for your pet including a hands-free laser and an app-controlled toy bone.
