I have been feeding my Grehound mix Buddy this particular food for 9 years now (He is 11). He is at a great weight, is very fit, and has the muscle mass of a dog much younger than he.
He's excited to eat it EVERY day. He has tried different foods twice, when I was unable to get the high endurance, and was not pleased with me haha.

I have been feeding my English Setter this food for 10 years (she is 11)
She is also very high energy..and stays very slim naturally. Hope she likes the High endurance formula as well..the chunks are larger... I freaked out a bit when i couldnt find the old packaging, i was worried it had been discontinued. She didnt get fat on the old formula,because she has so much energy, but is slowing down a bit now that she is older, so I'm thinking of switching to a less fat formula..

i have a boxer that i resued from a pound,he is under weight an skinny, but lots of muscle. so hes tryed blue buffalo, wouldnt eat it.went to nutro high energy.hope this helps cause people are asking are u feeding this dog? had him to the vet several times to make sure hes not wormy. hope this works!

I tried quite a few foods for my Shepherd/Husky but she always looked so skinny...I even brought her in for a weigh-in. I always tried for the most natural food I could find at a good price, and this food takes the cake! Her coat is shiny, she put on the few pounds I was looking for, and loves eating it. No yogurt, or gravy or anything added :) Well..maybe a bit of hot water.

I have a field trial (hard running) english setter that I hunt with. We love the Nutro products and I was feeding her one of the other Natural Choice selections. I found that she would "hit the wall" after about 2 hours in the field. I then switched to the High Energy and found that while she had phenominal stamina in the field she would gain weight if I didn't hunt her alot. Because her lifestyle varies between periods of high activity with those that are less strenuous, I experimented and found a formula that works. She gets Nutro High Energy the meal before a hunt, during breaks in the hunt and for her next two feedings which are the evening after the hunt and the next morning. I then switch back to her regular Nutro. She now has no weight gains during non hunting times, has high energy when hunting, and recovers quickly from the hunt. The best of all worlds with a phenominal product!

I have a Boxer/St. Bernard mix who is very active. He's had a difficult time gaining weight. People would actually ask me if I was feeding my dog. (I'm a dog trainer! Of course I feed my dog!) I was feeding him more than twice what he should be eating! I've tried several different foods, including Blue Buffalo, which is supposed to be one of the best. My vet wanted me to put him on a VERY expensive prescription diet. The Nutro representative that I work with talked to me about the High Energy food, so I decided it was worth a shot! I also read a lot of good reviews about it! Well, we tried it & my dog has gained weight! He looks great & it really has made his coat softer & very shiny! I am so thrilled with this food!

My poor Chihuahua, Princess, age 11, has such a hard time keeping weight on during the winter months. She weighs only about 8 lbs during the summer, but drops to 4.5lbs when it gets cold. Yes, it's only a 3lb difference, but when 3lbs is 1/3 your body weight, well.... it concerned me. She always eats good, but she shivers off all the weight. I had her on can food, but it got expensive and tarter kept building up on her teeth. Nurto's high energy food is a crunchy (and assuming tasty as she always runs for the dinner bell) lifesaver!

I have a 155lb great dane that is 9 1/2 years old and a 5 year old 70lb greyhound. The great dane has been on this food since about 2 years old. Even my vet asked me what I feed her because she is so healthy at such an old age! I recommend this to everyone who stops me and stays my dogs are beautiful. I adopted a Siberian Husky 4 years ago that was about 20 pounds underweight. The shelter suggested this food to help her body be able to balance weight gain with the exercise that a Siberian needs to stay happy. I have 2 German Shepherds and a Whippet. The shepherds shed terrible and the whippet although his hair is very short sheds too. All 3 dogs are very very active so thats why I feed them the high energy food. They all love the food but a funny thing is when we got the Whippet I put him on the food for small breeds because he is small and I thought I was doing him a favor.....wrong. He will eat the big dogs food every time, even if I put it in his bowl. Any way their shedding has gotten sooo much better, their coats are shiney and they just look happier. I love my dogs and I want the best for them. I wouln't eat just any dog food and I don't give them just any food. I want the best for them. They look happy and I know they are healthier dogs and I believe their food have everything to do with that. I switch from one flavor to another to give them something different every few weeks. They love them all and it shows.

My husband and I rescued a Malamute/Husky from an abused home in 2002. When we brought him home he was 15 lbs underweight. My husband and I tried over 6 different brands of dog food in 1 year to help him gain weight. We finally talked to a friend of ours who uses this brand and after 2 months of using it, we seen a big difference in his weight. He could eat as much as he wanted and ran laps around our yard and still keep his weight on. It has been 9 years and we still continue to use this product.

I adopted a Siberian Husky from the pound 3 years ago. Sissy had a very compromised immune system from being in the pound and soon after I brought her home she had reached the point that she was to sick to eat . This is a dog who should have weighed 45 pounds and she was barely hanging onto life at 23 pounds. Our wonderful vet called everyday to check on her and every day I had to say that she was still not eating. Our brother in law told us to try a high protein dog food and we went to the Pet Store and chose the Nutro High Energy dog food. The next day as the vet was talking to me on the phone, Sissy got up and went to the food bowl and ate a few pieces of the Nutro. From that day forward she began to eat more and more and gradually gained weight and got her strength back. We have now switched her to the Large Breed Adult Nutro and she continues to thrive! When Sissy started to eat again, she needed a dog food that gave her wasted body the necessary nutrients to recover and I believe Nutro saved her life.

We have 18month old sibling Brittany Spaniels whom I still allow to self feed. They constantly burn off what they eat and are really in shape. I am a former USAF K-9 handler and have owned and trained several excellent Police patrol and Ring Sport dogs over many years. My lab was having trouble keeping on weight during the cold winter months. I was feeding him more and he continued to lose weight. I switched from large breed to the high energy hoping that the increased protein would cause him to maintain his weight better. He started gaining his weight back almost instantly. I have three collies and they do great on this stuff. I will say that I wish the first ingredient was a meat and not chicken meal. As this leaves more poo to pick up. Overall, I would recommend it definitely compared to some other dog foods

When we first got our Boxer puppy, we started her on the Nutro puppy food. As she turned one, we switched to big girl food and gave her Nutro for large dogs until we discovered that Nutro had a High Energy dog food that would fit her active lifestyle as she has a ton of energy! I have 2 border collies, "Wadio" (a service dog/working dog) and "Katie" (a full-time cowhand assistant). Both of our fuzzy friends travel many miles a day and burn a lot of calories. With this food, I can feed less of it to maintain a healthy muscle-mass, glowing coat and perfect body weight/condition for my two very active working dogs. Other foods, I would have to feed twice as much to get nearly the same results with a much larger dent in my pocket book. I have been using Nutro dry dog food for years with my service dogs. My dogs have all been large breed dogs and have been very active. They have been used to help pulll me in my wheelchair, balance me when I transfer and hold me and the chair on ramps. My dogs need high protein, good non-artificial ingredients and a food that is balanced. I have found that with the Nutro products.
I have recommended Nutro to people who ask me how I get my dog's coat so silky, thick and lush. My dog now, a German Shepherd loves the food and wants some after I get the bag opened. I trust the Nutro brand and am faithful to it.

I have used this product for 15 years for Tasha my Miniture American Eskimo. It is the only product that has been able to keep her coat shiney and soft. When we went from nutro large breed puppy to the adult food Maggie was requiring larger feedings to keep the weight on her. That's when I found the high energy food and that seemed perect for her. We were able to

I have a Belgian Malinois and anyone who has one will tell you that when they are outside they are constantly in motion. Whether she is running the fence line to let the horses know she's on patrol or keeping the chickens all together, she's always moving - and I don't mean walking! Nutro Natural Choice High Energy has been the best for her and helps her keep weight on without a lot of fillers that make her skin itch terribly. It may seem like an expensive food, but it's really a quite a value because a 40 lb bag lasts us about a month for a 60 lb dog.

My golden retriever, Pono, is extremely active on a daily basis-
He loves to run and swim in the ocean, retrieving balls and sticks that are thrown for him, roll in the sand, sunbathe and chase away whatever he considers a trespasser (especially birds) out in the yard. He takes his guard dog duties very seriously even though that often means a couple barks and then a kiss!

When my Weimaraner, Ty, started dropping weight due to hunting season I started to worry. As he was already on Nutro Large Breed Maintenance, I switched his food to the High Energy formula. I put on the Nutro Food Products/Kortright dog race for the siberian husky club of Canada in Southern Ontario. It is a lot of work to prepare the trail get sponsors email spectators(1300 over out to watch over two days-Jan29/30/2011).
By the time the weekend comes I am usually to tired to race.
This year I managed to race at my own event and finished third in the 3 dog class. I feed High Energy Dog food right through the year. During the hotter months I feed maintaince but starting late September until March I will feed the High Energy. I haven't actually set up with my pet food store that they stock it so I usually pick it up from one of the three stores close to my home.
My siberian Huskies in the cold months train alot and I found that this product helps them to recover quickly especially when some of my races are two days events. The second day is the day that the races are won.
If the team doesn't recover they will run slower the second day. If a team runs faster it proves the sucess of the teams training and feeding product.
My siberian's have beautiful coats and they are always full of energy. I have a dog turning 10 this May 2011 and she runs and plays in my yard like a puppy.
