I have had my 4 Springers on this food for several years now but with 4, the cost is getting out of hand. They have done great on this food with no stomach issues or diarrhea but now a bag does not even last a month and at $85 there is going to have to be a change.

The product is good. My dog has been on this food for quite some time. The problem is becoming the price. I've noticed they are dropping the 15lb bag and going to a 12lb bag. I've seen the price at Petsmart go from around $34/ bag to $52/ bag. This is getting ridiculous and may cause me to go look elsewhere for dog food as much as I do not want to do that to my dog.

I notice you're eliminated the 15 lb bag and hate this change because is the perfect size . Plus you put in the market 12 lb bag and more expensive, doesn't make sense . My rescue Miniature American Shepherd weighed 48 lbs when he was surrendered to the shelter. He's only 15" tall and was classified as morbidly obese on his intake exam. I fed him Hills Adult Perfect Weight dry food and he lost 21 lbs. in 12 months. He's now at a healthy weight and I continue to feed him Hills Adult Perfect Weight. We train for AKC Rally and Agility and he loves the Perfect Weight dry kibble as training treats. My golden retriever had been eating the weight management brand for 4 years. This brand came in from Chewy and I didn't notice the change in name. My dog totally refused to eat it. I tried Blue and he threw up all day. Pro Plan bits are too big. I'm very very disappointed.

My pitbull mix is getting up there in years, so I've been blaming her low energy on that for a while. Switched to Perfect Weight this summer and cannot believe how much more energy she has! She cleans EVERY bowl (maybe even faster than she did with her last food) and just all around a happier, more energetic dog! I have a lazy chow chow who loves treats and has become more low energy as he's aged. We took him to the vet and they suggested this dog food to help manage his weight. The vet weighed him at 55lbs and wanted him at around 48-50 range. Went out and bought this, used the suggested weight feeding goals on the side of the bag and after about 3-4 months we definitely noticed the difference. His shape is more defined? He's doing good!! And he actually likes the food. Not to mention that he has a sensitive tummy and the issue has decreased dramatically since we started using this. It's a grey product.

Our dogs used to love the healthy weight food until they changed it. Now they barely eat. We bought a bag of regular hills dog food but it only helped for the first day or so. It's now common for any one of the 3 to have food left in their bowl all day. The other dogs don't eat it out of their bowl either. That's not like them at all.

I bought Perfect Weight Adult bag for my 80 lb lab about a month ago and again today. The size of the pellet in the new bag is SMALL in this last bag! The reason I like this brand was for the LARGER size pellet. Is this smaller pellet the new size? If so I'll be looking for another brand. I don't want my Lab eating pellets small enough for a chihuahua.

I have used Adult Perfect Weight Dog Food for my dogs for almost 7 years. It had been wonderful. Now with this new really small kibble they struggle to eat it. Much of it falls out of their mouth. Both of my dogs are quite large at ~130 lbs each. These bits are way too small for them. After all this time, I unfortunately, am now going to need to change product and brands. It USED to be a great product and maybe it is OK for little to medium size adult dogs but certainly not for large ones.

Wow! I must say I am very pleased and impressed with this product. I've grown up with dogs and we have always used other cheaper brands of dog food because it's never affected our pets in any way... it was actually the only dog food my recently late boxer could stomach! And because of that we kept our lab on the same food she had, and our lab just put on the pounds even though we fed them both the same amount and exercised the same. Once her passing, I was recommended science diet healthy weight by my aunt. It's been 2 weeks and our lady lab is doing amazing! Her energy level has sky rocketed, and she loves the food. That's the big difference i can see with her in a short time-however my mom has already noticed a weight loss too(she does not live with me so doesn't get to see her often.) highly recommend for your pets! A bit pricey, but definitely worth it!

This is a great product to try before going to a prescription weight loss diet. If you are comparing science diet pricing to the dog food at the grocery store then yes it's expensive, but a quality dog food should not be bought at a grocery store. I had tried so many things to get my 65lbs 5 year old Aussie to lose weight and did not want to go to the prescription diets yet due to cost. Generally all dog food bags tell you to over feed. I fed mine slightly less than what the bag recommended. And got him down to 55lbs. He runs and acts like a puppy. He's happy healthy energetic not the dog he was when he didn't want to get off the couch. I have worked in the industry almost 10 years and I highly recommend this product.

I have a black lab and a golden retriever both of which were over weight. My golden weighed 132 and my black lab weighed 80. With this food and given no treats did they loose the weight. My golden lost 17 pounds and my black lab lost 8. Our vet is very pleased with both of them. Our golden is 10 years old and is acting and feeling much more energetic and playful. I have had my two dogs on Perfect Weight for 2 years. The amazing thing is not so much the weight loss, I still struggle with that! But for 7 years prior to putting them on Perfect weight one of them really struggled with tummy problems which disappeared when we switched to this. However she had 5 teeth pulled (vet said it was because I gave them antlers to chew!) so I had to switch to Perfect Weight small bites. The problem is that small bites only comes in 4lb bag size and not 28lb! Probably because they are only allowing for one small dog and not two medium dogs. So they loose one star because it costs me twice as much because I have to buy 7 small bags!

In April, I adopted a shelter lab who had been there 4 years. He has lost 10 pounds on PW and looks and feels great. He does get a lot of exercise daily which helps him stay trim! We are beginning the maintenance phase. I'll be interested to see how he does for the next few months.

I have had our two dogs on Perfect Weight for 4 1/2 weeks. Our Lab/Pit mix has lost 7 pounds. Our Golden Retriever has lost 10 pounds! I got a measuring cup from our Vet, and followed the feeding guidelines for the "ideal weight." This food is awesome! Dogs LOVE it.....and it works in helping them lose weight. Nothing changed but this food...it is truly a blessing to have found this formula! We estimate they will be on the ideal weight feeding schedule for another 5-6 weeks; once they reach their optimal weight, we will continue using Hills Science Diet for them. Coats shiny; more energy; very satisfied with the smaller portions. Amazing!

Not only do I love the Velcro closure but our Corgi had gained a little more weight than she needed to and we switched from the regular little bites Science Diet to the Perfect Weight and she has lost a couple of pounds so far and has so much more energy. We have raised her on Science Diet, when we got her she wasn't on it and my vet suggested starting her on Science Diet and within two weeks we could tell so much difference in her hair. I started Triton on this food when my Vet informed me that my previous brand actually had too much protein content for a large dog! I didn't even know this was possible! After a lot of research and consideration I finally decided this was the best food for my donated (yet very expensive) service dog! The transition was easy on him. We have a large spayed choc lab who was getting tube like, so we decided diet time. We put her on science diet perfect weight, fed her the same amount as her old food, so she wouldnt be hungry. At first she seemed to gain weight, but a few weeks later the extra pounds started rapidly coming off. Its been 7 months and she looks great! Yes its a bit costly, all healthy dog foods are, but it really works.

My beagle was on this for 10 months. She is 1 year old. she did not gain any weight, but she did not loose any. I gave her one treat in the morning for oral care and one at night. I walk her, run and play. It did not work as much as I would of liked to seen. It is pricey, but she loved it; I would of loved to had seen her actually loose some weight eating this for 10 weeks.

Our 2 yr old Bernese Mtn Dog had a stroke and was hospitalized for 8 days. He is a very large Bernese and was a bit overweight...actually a LOT overweight....it wasn't until the stroke that we found out that he needed to loose at least 30lbs for his general health, but also to help with his recovery from the stroke. The vet recommended several weight loss diets and Perfect Weight was one of them. He has been on it now for 4 months and has lost a total of 24lbs...approx. 6lbs/month. He has one more month to go, before he reaches his ideal weight. He has lost the weight rapidly, but not dangerously fast...Perfect Weight has made it much easier than we ever thought it would be. I would HIGHLY recommend this product!!

I had used the Prescription weight loss food for my Great Dane and it worked really good, but putting her back on her regular food made her gain some weight again, so when I found Perfect Weight I decided to try it. She likes it quite a bit and so do the other dogs so I give them a small amount with their Science Diet Active dog food and they are all happy. My dog is actually almost eleven-yrs-old, but there was no formula for her age. So I bought the one to six yrs-old (or is it seven?). Either way, she didn't seem to like the taste as much, and I think she prefers larger bites for chewing. Lastly, it made her go way too much that her bottom became raw. I know it's supposed to help them lose weight, and it did a little bit, but not sure if it's because she ate less or had to go so often. Either way, she was not comfortable & I didn't like knowing that she had to go so much, especially if I was not home. So I switched over to the easy digest for her age & we'll see how she does. So far she seems to like it okay, as she's at least eating all of it. However, it's only been a few days now. Plus, it's a bit costly and for those of us on a budget we would like to still feed our dogs healthier food. However, it seems to do this we have to spend so much, and many of us cannot afford the higher cost of the food -plus you get less in the bag (doubly-whammy).

Bella was suffering from loose bowel movements, difficulty walking, low energy and loss of appetite for several weeks following a bacterial infection. Her dog food at that time seemed to make her sicker and sicker. Her vet recommended Science Prescription canned food for weight control and she ate that for one week and improved significantly. She moved on to the dry Science Perfect Weight food and she is thriving! She was never over weight but these two products help her maintain a healthy digestive tract. They were both life savers!

Tina is a larger Parsons/Russell Terrier (24lb). Being a bit on the nervous side she will eat when she does not need to. Sometimes she will get into the Cat food. She was pushing 30lb when I started the Perfect Weight formula, and has lost 6lbs in 6 months. It seems to fill her up better. I'll continue with this food for sure.

I have a low energy Pitbull that burns little calories and loves to eat...I've struggled to get her to the perfect balance for years. Some foods had to high protein others not enough etc. My vet recommended the R/D as a short term solution to loosing a much needed 10 lbs. The R/D worked but was the only food that kept her weight down to near normal. After 4 years of the R/D I was in the process of moving and was unable to get my regular order. I ended up at the local Pet Smart where I was planning on getting the low cal Hills and found the Hills Science Diet Perfect Weight. It was brand new at the time but I tried it. Its been about 8 months and this is definitely the answer and more affordable. Our previous three dogs ate to live and Missy lives to eat! Consequently, at nearly two years old she is approximately ten pounds overweight. She is a rescue dog, a hound mix and muscular, however, she needs to lose the additional excess pounds. She goes for a morning stroll each day with her Dad and is losing weight at a slow pace with Hills Perfect Weight which we are confident is still providing her with all the nutrition that she requires to keep her healthy. I feel that Hill'sยฎ Science Dietยฎ Adult Perfect Weight is an effective product and something that my dog will eat, but I wish the price wasn't as high. I think if the price was a bit lower, it would be easier to advocate for this particular product. That being said though, I do feel like Hill'sยฎ Science Dietยฎ does a pretty good job at providing balanced nutrition that usually delivers the results it says it will...which is the one reason why my dog has been on Hill'sยฎ Science Dietยฎ for the entirety of his life.

Our yellow lab gets lazy during the winter even though she is only 3, the vet said she packed on 20 pounds she was up to 65 pounds the same weight as our 5 year old black and tan coonhound Odie. She has been eat HSD once a day, dinner time. She has lost the 20 pounds and looks great. She is a big ball of energy in a mass of muscle. She and Odie both love the HSD. I like the fact I can feed my 2 dogs a food they like that can help control their weight. However, they are small dogs and the Healthy Weight food has the larger kibble. I only wish it came in a smaller kibble to make eating it a little easier. Thanks.

I love Hills Science Diet Perfect Weight!! Well, I should say my dogs love it but so do I. I love to give my dogs a good food that I know is healthy for them & they enjoy it. I decided to try this food to manage my dogs weight. It really did the trick!! My dogs are perfect weight now & they truly enjoy their Hills Science Diet!!

Mocha our black lab seems to be enjoying the taste of this diet food and seems full (not begging). She takes her time to munch thru the kibble so she takes a bit longer to eat and she seems to be slimming down.

After months of trying dogfoods, we have found a food that really works! One of our dogs has a weight problem, and the vet recomened a certain food. When this did not work we tryed numerous others. I have 2 dogs on this food right now, one, (Chloe), who is about 30 lbs over weight. We are in the 2nd week with this food and really hope it helps her get some of the weight off. She has bad hips and we are doing everything possible to avoid surgery. Everyone keep cheering Chloe on and we'll keep feeding her the Perfect Weight and hopefully it works!!

We have been giving this to our younger dog for a few weeks. She is totally on it and her weight is doing better, she was starting to gain. She loves the taste and has had no stomach issues, she is losing some weight but at a healthy rate. She wasn't over weight but was starting to gain and we didn't want her to have to diet. So by starting on this now it is keeping her at a healthy weight. Great value and she loves it, not having to limit her food makes her happy too. Great product.

Our yellow lab absolutely LOVES this new formula! She's usually very hesitant about any "weight control" foods - my guess is they don't smell and taste meaty enough for her. "Perfect Weight" is the exception, she actually hops up and down when I'm scooping it into her bowl. I won't have to switch her back to a regular formula after she loses a couple more pounds either. Since she likes it so much, I can slightly increase the amount and keep things simple.

I am pleased with this product. My dogs were previously on a prescription food to lose weight. Now that they have achieved the weight goal set by their vet, our focus was directed to maintaining their weight. Hill's Science Diet Perfect Weight has helped us achieve that. My dogs had no problem transitioning over to the new food and neither has gained any weight which has made their vet and myself very happy. I will continue to feed my dogs this product.

Never disappointing; my dog LOVED the dog food. Never a problem with transitioning food types with Science Diet. He also enjoys rummaging through the bag for a few kibbles after I store the food in a air-tight container. :)

I have a female black lab/cattle dog mix rescued dog. She has had a little trouble with her weight lately which has attributed to her recent hip problems. (We think she is about 3-4 years old so we think the weight is to blame mostly.) She was 61 lbs and needed to weigh about 55lbs. After about 3 weeks on this product, she lost about 2 lbs. She continues to shed the pounds. I have been feeding her the recommended for the weight she needs to be. I am confident this food will keep her trim and in perfect shape for the long haul!

I've purchased a bag of this and also received a free bag as a Hill's Pet Parent - I will continue to purchase this specific formula for my dogs. I have 4 of them, 2 who struggle with losing weight. They have slowly and safely lost the weight they needed with this food - without "missing" out on anything. They love the taste and I love that it will now help them maintain a healthy weight, which will hopefully help them live longer lives. I'm very impressed with the Perfect Weight!

I just started using the Perfect Weight dog food because I wanted to mix it in gradually so my dogs could get use to it. The first time I fed it mixed with their old food, they picked out the Perfect Weight and left the rest. They loved it! If the weight loss results are as good as the taste, this will definitely be a hit at my house.

On March 30th, I noticed a distinctive limp and my blue nose mix Smokey not putting any pressure on his left rear leg. The next day at the vet i learned he had Cranial Cruciate Ligament Insufficiency (rupture). In my language he blew out his knee. We had allowed him to get up to 107 pounds. Now we know the dangers of to much weight in dogs. We can not have the corrective operation done until he gets down to 90 pounds. In comes - Perfect Weight by Science Diet. Twenty days later he is down to 99 pounds and well on his way to the goal of 90pounds.At this rate we will have the surgery in three weeks. We could not have done it without Perfect Weight.

My fussy little Schnoodle has to lose 5 lbs. per our vet. He has lost 3 so far. She said it wouldn't hurt to see if this food made a difference. He is not a dry food type but I bought a bag anyway. He loves it. He has a bit of a sensitive stomach and he has had no problems with it. Highly recommend.

I was afraid to buy a large bag of Perfect Weight, but the bag said to mix it with his current food, so I did and now he is only on Perfect Weight. I was surprise that he loves the food and it seems to satisfy him. I can't wait to see the results because I love Finn and I want him around for a long time. I have a very picky corgi, who also happens to be about 5 lbs overweight. Just enough that the vet gives me a hard time, and I haven't been able to keep it off. I've been trying Perfect Weight and so far he really loves the taste! A huge relief! Hopefully we'll see the pounds start dropping soon.
