My 5 yo Birman loves his Hills Light, he's pretty fussy and won't eat anything else.

Cat loved this food and worked shed a few pounds over the years. HOWEVER, Science Diet recently decided to change the SHAPE AND SIZE of the pieces (from tiny morsels to a flat round shape) - which has become a choking hazard for my cat. Basically, she eats it and throws it back up. We have CONFIRMED it is the actual SIZE of pieces, as we have gone back and forth with a few of the older bags (tiny pieces) over the past month. We have now resorted to change her food over to a different type with similar tiny pieces "SD Optimal Care." We'll see...

My cat has been on this food since she was rescued 7 years ago and the last bag I bought in September 2018 I noticed the formula and kibble shape changed. It does not smell like it did before and my cat will no longer eat it. Why do you make changes like this and not disclose it on the bag? I bet you do not disclose it because if you did many people would not buy it knowing their cats are finicky.
by Snickers' Dad on 10/21/2018
We're not fans of the new disc-style nuggets. Let's go back to the pellet-style nuggets.
by Concerned Cat on 10/13/2018
My cat was able to lose 5lbs on this cat food, and he loves the taste. I recommend this food if your cat needs to lose a few points.
by JJN on 04/17/2018
I am pleased with this food because I was able to get my overweight cats down to a healthier weight gradually. I just wonder why you haven't mentioned the change in at he kibble size and shape. It used to be squarish and now is a flat disc shape. I see no mention of it anywhere.
by Cat lady on 03/18/2018
We have been feeding the Adult Light dry food to our cats for years. Recently we bought a big bag and found that the kibble shape was wrong. I assumed it was the wrong food in the bag. I returned the bag and felt another bag before buying and that kibble shape was also wrong. I tried a different store - same story. I ended up have to buy a much more expensive small bag that had the correct kibble shape (and hopefully the correct food). I reached out to Hills via online chat and got a generic 'sorry' type response and the only option for follow up was to call a phone line during business hours (not convenient). Either the wrong food was in multiple bags or the kibble shape has changed without any warning (and does not match the shape shown on the bag). Either way I am not impressed and am stuck trying to figure out what to do before I run out of food. Cats are picky, including about kibble shape, and I am not at all keen to have to change food. As a long time customer I am not at all impressed.

I was told 25 years ago that the ash and magnesium content are the most important ingredients affecting male kitties and kidney issues (the percentage needs to be low). Ever since then, I've had all my cats on this dry food, and my current kitties (brother and sister) have been eating it for their 15 years with us and doing excellent health-wise. This is the only food I will ever feed these and any kitties I have in the future. Highly recommend it.
by Stephanie Joy on 10/31/2017
I have been buying the Science diet lite for my cats and they love it! My cats can be finicky but was relieved when they gobbled this up! Thank you Hill's for this wonderful product
by Hollie on 10/20/2017
I've got a 3 legged rescue cat who has some trouble with his weight. I've been feeding him this light formula for about a year and it has been a huge help in the battle of the 3 legged kitty bulge.
by LauraDee on 03/16/2017
A little over a year ago we added 2 kittens to our family (brother and sister), and knowing that we wanted the best for our new babies we did research upon research for what would be best for them to grow up strong and healthy. We started out with the kitten food for a year and switched over to the light (they did get a little chubby) and our babies have impressed us (and the vet!) with how good their health and fur and teeth are from choosing this food. We will never even think to switch brands, we are now life long Science Diet customers!!
by smorawski13 on 06/30/2016
Callie loves the wet and dry light food. She's not usually a minced food cat but she ate it all up.
by Jenny on 06/23/2016
This product was first recommended by my vet. My cats love it and I have the comfort and assurance in knowing that I am giving my cats the best nutrition and support for their health. A couple of my cats were overweight. We put them on the weight loss plan and once they shed the extra weight we switched them to maintenance. It worked great!
by dicky on 09/13/2015
I had one house kitty on Science Diet Light and four barn kitties on a generic feed to save on costs. The difference in their hair coats was incredible - the barn kitties had mats and tangles but my house kitty had none. One of the barn kitties started pulling out her fur and looked horrible. After checking for parasites and finding none I switched the barn kitties to Science Diet Light and very shortly all of the mats went away. They have been on "Light" ever since. The cost is higher than the generic but I try to save by feeding a little less and that helps some. The coupons help as well.
by katiezuzu on 09/08/2015
I feel good about feeding this dry food and best of all my cats love this diet!
by amydvm on 05/20/2015
For a long time I had tried many weight loss foods for my fat cat. The food from the vet was far too expensive and my cat hated it. Then I decided to try the light cat food and after a while my fat cat started losing weight. So since I had good luck with that, my next goal is to help my dog loose a light weight. So I plan to try the weight loss food offered by Hills Science.
by FatCat1802 on 01/29/2015
I will only give my cats this food, for their health and it keeps their coats nice and shiny.
by Zoeynike on 12/27/2014
My cats are like children to me and my family, so I want to give them the best I can afford. Being on a limited income, I can't really afford to take them to the vet; it is very important to keep them healthy by feeding them Science Diet. I choose the light or ideal balance, as both cats are inside 100% of the time and were overweight when I adopted them. Thank you so much and please keep making coupons available.
by GraceesMom on 12/26/2014
Controls their appetite. Cats like it and eat it on a regular basis. Product is a little pricey.
by Fritzy on 12/09/2014
I am extremely disappointed with this product. I have read that cats love it and I have bought science diet in the past for my two cats. But I switched to the Light brand and they hate it! My two cats, who will eat anything, will not touch the stuff. I have had to buy different food so they would not starve! Now I have a lot of useless Science Diet and a lighter wallet. I would not recommend this to anyone!
by Kris88 on 10/23/2014
Mia was starting to put on some extra weight so we started feeding the adult light. She is thriving on it....coat is shiny and sleek and she is in proper weight again. Mia is a Russian Blue.
by gsdlover1973 on 10/22/2014
My Maine Coon cat, a very particular eater, dislikes human food and most cat food brands. He does, however, love this brand and eats it wholeheartedly. I keep buying it and he keeps eating it.
by samperla on 09/22/2014
My cat loves this dry food, it also is easy on his sensitive stomach
by curbinator1 on 09/08/2014
My feline friend Amy craves this food! When I adopted her at age one she was started on Adult dry and has never grown tired of it. However, she became a little plump after repeatedly opening the cupboard doors and chewing through the closed bag (which is now kept in the oven) She continues to enjoy Science Diet but is now on Adult Light in an effort to become a little more svelte. She's happy, healthy and beautiful! What more could a cat and owner ask for? Science Diet = love!
by Denise55 on 08/30/2014
She has been able to keep a good weight she is a cat prone to being over weight so I really like that it prevents that. Her coat is very shiny and soft. Also at least once a month we give her a bath to keep any itching, dry skin or hairballs to a minimum.
by momofMeetza on 08/24/2014
Ever since we got our first of 2 dogs and 4 cats, they have had nothing but science diet which was recommended by our veterinarian. Our pets have been extremely healthy and have lived long lives. I accredit this to the food they eat! I would never change from science diet. "You are what you eat"
by 343kim on 08/16/2014
I have a pair of brothers, the they beg for their food everyday, they really like the taste and would likely eat the whole bag if I left it out.
by gbecker on 08/15/2014
From day one when we adopted the kittens they were on Science Diet dry food. Would not even consider any other brand. Both cats are thriving and healthy. AND love their food! :)
by Mork on 08/11/2014
This product is such a wonderful choice for my cat "Buddy Love" - I know that it is healthy & nutritious for him; he just cares that it tastes great and there's plenty for him to eat! I'd say that is a "Win Win Situation"!
by Buddy123 on 08/05/2014
I have to measure her food-- she loves this stuff!
by Sammie on 08/04/2014
We have used Science Diet dry foods for many years. Tried the light since some of our cats were getting chunky. They all hated it. We make a blend with the Oral care and hairball food. They ate around the light food. So I guess it works if you want your cats to lose weight as they don't eat!
by Janet63 on 07/31/2014
I have an adult Siamese mix who in October of 2011 weighed 16 pounds. At the advice of my vet I put him on "Science Diet Adult Light" and today he weighs a healthy 11 pounds. Recently I had a coupon for the newest "Light" cat food from a competitor and so I decided to try it. Within a few weeks Jade started gaining the weight back. From now on I only use "Science Diet Adult Light" and my cat is much happier and healthier. Thank you Science Diet !!
by Jadesmom99 on 07/17/2014
My cat was 16 1/2 years old and only ate Science diet light for the past 9 years, before that he ate regular. He was 23lbs and beautiful. I miss him so much. I now have a new cat. She eats Science diet regular, she started out on kitten, she loves it too. I am hoping she does as well as Tiger did. Her name is Peteena. I advise anyone with a cat to feed their pet Science diet. It is the best! The coat is shinny and soft and beautiful. Everyone always comments on that even with Tiger. Vet said that though he was big Tiger was in great health. Peteena is also very healthy. Thank you for a great product.

by Sunshine1 on 05/30/2014
Have owned 3 cats that lived 12 -13 years and now have 2 that are 4 years old and all ate or are eating Science diet light as recommended by our vet. They were and are healthy except in the last year for the first 3. Would tell anyone this is a great product by great company. The cats enjoy eating it and no stomach upsets.
by lea1 on 05/22/2014
The cats like the size of the pellets as they are easy for them to eat. And they finish every serving.
by junobe on 05/17/2014
I started using the "light" adult formula because my cat packed on a great deal of weight after she was spayed. I have used this cat food for four months now. I have followed the recommended daily feeding amount, but my cat has not lost ANY weight. I will continue to use this cat food only because my cat enjoys it.
by lrb1 on 04/20/2014
We have two cats that we adopted from friends at different times. We got our female first and she was used to a different brand of food. We wanted to get her something healthier and chose Science Diet Light since she was a little chubby. When we tried mixing the two dry foods together to slowly ween her off of her previous food, she ate around her old food, and only ate the Science Diet pieces. The same thing happened when we brought our male cat into our home. He absolutely refused to eat any of his old food and only ate the Science Diet. Even now, months later, they still try to claw open the bag to eat to their hearts content. Feeding time is their favorite time.
by Lyssa on 04/15/2014
my husband and I only buy our cat Charlie the adult light bagged dry cat food, we have found that our cat loves the taste and we find that the price is reasonable compared to other products on the market. He gets good results at the vets also when he goes. awesome
by 64chevelle on 04/01/2014
My can loves this food and does well on it. He loves to eat and has a tendacy to be a little over weight. This food helps control his weight and keeps him sadisfied. And I am sent coupons once in a while, which is a bonus!

I have been giving Hills Science to all of my cats for decades. Due to some of their health issues which was caused by a cheaper and inferior brand, my veterinarian suggested trying Hills cat food. My cats have eaten no other brand since, nor have any of them suffered ill health beyond old age issues. Hills is excellent quality and my cats have always enjoyed the food. I am a loyal purchaser of Hills cat food and have never again served an inferior product.
by Williewilma on 02/26/2014
Out cats love this food. Never a worry of whether they will eat or not. Science Diet quality let's us sleep at night knowing our "babies" are getting the best. We stock up when its on sale and it keeps well.

Trying to maintain my one cat's weight while providing food that is also healthy for my other cat. Both seem to love it.
by Jarloff on 02/17/2014
my cats love it. I wish it was a little cheaper cuz times are hard for most of us. Thanks
by thaigone on 02/17/2014
No problems with my cats digestion of the food and they are happy every morning to get more food.
by Tigger17 on 02/03/2014
I would not contemplate changing cat foods, Science Diet Light is really great for indoor cats. Fed on schedule, they are trim, healthy and regular, as in cleaning the box on a regular schedule without the horrible mess cheap cat foods seem to produce. The 'Light' forumla makes a tremendous difference with one of our cats, without it, he'd be a very heavy! He loves to eat, eat, eat and with the light, we leave it down from 5pm until 8am, 24/7. That helps with their regularity and box cleaning. Thanks, Science Diet.

My cat needs to lose weight and, if not, he is at least, staying at a stable weight.
by Ossie on 12/18/2013
It has kept him from gaining more weight. I mix it with the new Metabolic Diet which he also loves.
by peekaboo on 11/16/2013
One of my kitties , age fourteen, is slowing down a b it. I know that sometimes senior kitties become overweight and that is unhealthy. I feed this cat food to avoid that problem.
by nishin38 on 11/06/2013
We've used this product for the last 6 years and previously I would have given it high marks. The last 3 months or so, the food smells SO bad coming out of the bag I want to gag...moldy, rancid. The cats are still eating it, but I have reached the point where I cannot tolerate the smell of it in my house. I thought maybe one batch was 'off' but it's still bad. I cannot recommend, particularly for the price, this product any longer.
by Michelle98 on 11/03/2013
I have 4 indoor cats using this product. They love it and beg every time I go to the kitchen. Light keeps them fit for running and jumping.
by mslinda on 10/27/2013
My Spoiled Cat has been on Science Diet since I got her 10 1/2 years ago from the SPCA. She came with sample bags and never stopped getting it. We did however try a cheaper brand of food but she would not have it. So, as I said my spoiled girl eats only Science Diet starting with kitten to grown women food. She will be on this product the rest of her life. If this food makes her happy, she gets it
by Cin59 on 10/23/2013
Our clowder of six cats are all eating this now, just because of one fat guy. We have a "community" bowl for kibble, and they had no problem switching to the SD light. I'm wondering why the kibble is so tiny though. It seems that the larger pieces are better for the cats dental health. Also, the Velcro closure found on some of your procucts #Hairball control# is far superior to the plastic zip that is still being used. I hope you plan to change all your bags to Velcro in the near future.
by Escocat on 10/21/2013
My cats love it and look forward to meal time. love the quality for the money
by rbpatches on 10/19/2013
I have four cat's and they all like this food. I like that the pieces are small. I know they are getting great nutrition when they eat science diet. I also have to say that I have a stray that comes over for dinner every night and she will only eat Hill's Science Diet canned minced chicken. She absolutely loves that food. I have never purchased anything but Hill's Science Diet cat food. I joke with friends saying my cat's eat better than I do. Thank you for making such a great product.
by Einstein on 10/08/2013
Love this cat food...he doesn't eat as much and it really helps with the stink in the litter box as well.

My cat was a rescue and sat in a cage for 8 months doing nothing but eating and sleeping. When I adopted her she was definitely overweight. I started feeding her Hills Science Diet Light Adult and within 9 months she had lost a much needed 2 lbs. It definitely satisfies her appetite and most importantly it works.

We have a 14 year old cat named Tippur who is a domestic short hair. On September 17, 2010 she weighed in at the Vet's office at 18.30 pounds. The Vet suggested that we put her on "Science Diet Light" dry cat food. On September 6, 2013 she weighed 11.00 pounds, that's a total weight loss of 7.30 pounds. Today Tippur is a happy healthy cat, and it's all because of "Science Diet Light" cat food. Thank you SO Much !!
by TippursMom on 09/26/2013
I feed my 5 year old cat Science Diet light. I actually started feeding her this at the age of 1 1/2 year's of age. She's healthy , maintaining great weight control, has lot's of energy and has a real shiny coat. She love's the taste. I would recommend Science Diet to anyone who has a cat or dog. I have fed my past cat's Science Diet also. Never had any issue of them not liking it. I will probably always feed my pet's Science Diet. I trust Hiill's brand for my pet's.

Talking to my vet about my 16.7 pound tabby, she suggested the adult cat Light science diet. They have a tabby in the office with the same problem our cat had and using the product have reduced the cats weight to 12 pounds. I'm sold and will try anything to get my cats health in order.

I really think it is important for my cats to have a healthy diet. I don't mind spending the money for thier helath. They are getting older, and this food provides all the important things I tihnk they need.
by kimergency on 07/18/2013
My cat started eating Science diet kitten food when she was just a few weeks old. As she got older she ate the different stages of Science Diet. When she was about a year old she was a bit overweight due to being so unhealthy as a baby( the vet said I had to put weight on her! She was so sick she was going to die) I put a bit too much weight on her so now I had to get so e off her, I started her on the Adult Light food and she did great, she lost some weight and has been doing very well. She is now 7 years old and still eating the Science Diet adult light food and doing well, we still believe she is a bit overweight at 11 pounds she is way down from the 14.5 she was. Thank you Science Diet for giving me my cat back and not having to break my daughters heart by having her put down just 2 days after we got her because she was so sick!!!!! We Love your products and have recommended them to so many!
by Mouse1025 on 07/18/2013
I have been feeding my lovely but overweight kitty this food in the hope that she will lose a bit of weight. She loves the food and eats it immediately. I use it alone but more often together with a wet food. I am optimistic that kitty will slim down a bit happily and painlessly. Same trouble as with humans!
by philo on 07/08/2013
All but one of my cats really liked the Light version of Science Diet. They enjoyed what they were eating and everyone seemed to eat less than their normal amount they were eating before.
by babygurl010103 on 07/06/2013
My 3 cats were starting to become roly-poly, so I switched from the regular dry cat food to this Science Diet Light. They all seemed to prefer this to the original Science Diet they had eaten for years. In fact, one of the cats will not touch any other food-even table scraps! They have energy, are playful, and 2 of the 3 have lost the pot belly (still working on the 3rd cat!) I also feed the neighbor's outdoor cat on occasion and he comes by to patrol our yard for moles and get a handful of the dry pellets. He loves the treat! The pellet size is perfect for my cats and they eat every morsel. Vet appointments confirm the health of my cats. I would highly recommend this food for cats with a tendency for overweight.
by SuzieQ on 07/01/2013
Our cats have eaten Science Diet Light Dry Cat Food since the out vet suggested it when they were about 6 months old. SD Light helps keep their weight in check so I don't have to worry about getting scolded at their annual check up! I wish the product was less expensive. Coupons are hard to come by, and I don't always catch the sales at the pet store. Unfortunately we have to mix the SD Light with other brands of dry food sometimes to keep the cost down.
by LucysMom on 06/30/2013
This product comes in a dry bite size that is easy for my cat to eat. I originally had her on regular Prescription Diet, but since she's an indoor cat and has limited exercise, she started to gain weight. My veterinarian suggested that I change her to the Light formula. She has maintained a healthy weight since that time. I feed Hill's food because my cat loves the taste and it's recommended by my veterinarian. This food may cost a little bit more than some other brands, but I feel like the company is trustworthy and always puts forth a consistently good product. I feel that my pets are worth it. After all, they're just like family!
by tonia on 06/29/2013
we have 3 and all of them just love this stuff, even my pickiest one.
by bluerose on 06/29/2013
This doesn't work for weight loss, it took about 9 months to see any results but my cat was basically starving to death. We ended up overfeeding a little, and he gained about 2 lbs over 4-5 months. I don't recommend this product if your cat needs to lose a lot of weight, just get prescription diet, it is the ONLY thing that works.
by chantie987 on 05/23/2013
We started feeding our cats this food when we adopted a male tabby and our vet recommended it (the Light formula because one of our cats is a bit, ahem, portly). I never realized the difference good, quality food can make! Our three cats now have shiny, soft fur and much more energy. Our vet says they are all in great shape. I tell everyone with a cat that Science Diet is the way to go.
by Amanda on 05/21/2013
Finally! I don't have fight to open the bag and struggle to close it. The new opening is superior to the old one. No more weird placement of the locking strips. Just zip it closed. Kitty loves the food, too :)

I have been feeding this food to my 5 year old indoor spayed female since she was 2 years old. She has maintained a healthy weight and it gives her the energy she needs to run around the house like crazy! She loves this food! She paces herself when eating, so she knows to not eat too much. I will keep feeding this to her until she turns 7 or 8.

I purchased this product after I got a coupon from the Hill's website for it. My Maine Coon "Frank" is 5 years old and he's kind of on the plump side, I won't lie. I bought this in hopes that it would be more filling and cause him to loose a few pounds easily yet healthy. It worked! I feed him 3/4 cup all day and 1 can of wet food and he has lost 3lbs. He enjoys the taste and because it's Hill's, I know the quality is amazing. The coupons always help too :)

In a house with three cats of varied ages, the adult light product is a great choice. The two big boys eat a little too much, so the light product helps keep their weight in check. An added benefit is that my vet says all three of their teeth always look great. I've been feeding Science Diet to my oldest cat practically since I adopted her in 2002. She's in great shape and health!

Ensuring my kitties maintain healthy weights is so important but not always easy. Fortunately, my pleasingly plump little girl loves Science Diet Light. Since she's been on the Light food, her weight has stabilized, although she could still stand to loose a couple of pounds. I think we could accomplish that if we could keep her from sneaking food from the others. She's a piggy.

I had 3 cats and decided to add 2 kittens to my family. The kittens had diarrhea and gas. My Vet recommended I switch cat foods to Science Diet. One of my adult cats is overweight, he was overweight when I adopted him, and so the Vet said that the light variety of Science Diet cat food would be best for all my cat family members. The new food helped the kittens digestive problems and help my big boy maintain and maybe even lose some weight. The price might be higher than budget brands, but the food is better quality, and my cats stay full longer and eat less.

I have fed my cats Hill's Science Diet for quite a while. When the vet said that Lucky needed to lose a few pounds, I switched him to the diet formula. He lost about 2 pounds in a year (would have been less time if I could have figured out the right amount to feed him sooner - I didn't want to starve him - he was used to free feeding). I contacted the Hill's people who informed me of the correct amount to feed a 17-pound cat. Now he's looking good! And now he's used to being fed a certain amount at the same time every day. Of course, he still gets he treats.

I have five cats who, while eating Science Diet, were getting overweight. I switched to Lite cat food, and the cats love it and have lost weight. They're still energetic and their coats are thick and shiny. We will always use these for our five rescued cats and any future rescues!

I love this food, it was highly recomended by my vet. I only ever feed my cat science diet. I use both the wet and the dry. She loves it and I enjoy knowing that I am putting healthy food into my baby to help her grow and stay healthy. Just wish it was slightly more affordable

I have 4 cats, ages 6, 4, 3 and 2. I keep all of them on the Adult Light. They all have beautiful coats, are extremely active ( sometimes more than I would like them to be at 3:00am), and they all enjoy the food. They are all healthy and happy and have clean bills of health and normal blood test results. The most important thing to me is that they live long, happy lives and Adult Light is one of the ways I can ensure they do.

When we adopted our two kittens, Belle and Syman, they came home from their shelter with a bag of Hill's Science Diet Dry Kitten food. They LOVED their kitten food, which we gave them until they were a year old. At their 1 year vet visit, our vet noted that they were at the top of their weight range. He suggested that we give them Hill's Science Diet Adult Light food. When we switched them to the Adult Light food they immediately took to it. Their coats are shiny, and I'm happy to say their they've both actually lost a pound. Hill's Science Diet Adult Light helps keep our babies happy, and most important, healthy!

I have two rescue cats, one 3yr. and one 9 yr. Both were overweight when I got them. I started them both on Science Diet adult light dry and canned food last year. They have both lost weight and are healthier, and now have more energy. I would highly recommend this product.

Hills Science Diet is the best food for my cat. I gave her Science Diet Kitten formula since I brought her home from the Humane Society. She was then 11 weeks old. She is now almost 4 years old, and since she turned 1 year old, I have been given her Science Diet Adult Light. She dearly loves her food and I believe it has done her health and coat wonders. I have never had a problem with her health or coat since I brought her home. I would tell everyone to feed all their pets this wonderful product. Not only great ingredients but, great benefits for my cat.

I am so happy for the Science Diet Light. It's the only thing my Dexter boy will eat. He doesn't even like treats or TUNA! He craves it and eats just the right amount. It comes highly recommended by my veterinarian as well, could not be happier :)

My cat absolutely loves Science Diet Adult Lite! He is a very big Maine-Coon-mix cat and weighed just too much (22 pounds!!). I have substituted SDAL for 1/2 of his food, and he devours the SDAL first, always! He just loves it!

With 3 cats - two of which tend to be slightly overweight and one, b/c of underlying health issues, tends to be VERY overweight - it was hard to find a "light" cat food that all 3 enjoyed. Luckily, all of them love Science Diet Adult Light, which I like because I trust the SD brand.

Our cats sometimes will have bouts of looses stools. When we see this in their litter box, we switch their dry food to Hill Feline Light for a week or two. The light food quickly stabilizes their digestive system and brings back normal stools.

One of my 6-year-old cats was slightly overweight at the time of her annual vet visit last year. I switched her to this product (which I used with my previous cats, who lived to be 20 and 21) and by her next visit her weight was what it should be. I feed it to her sister, also; I just give her slightly more. Both cats are happy and active, and definitely look forward to feeding time.

My cats coats are always shiny and in good condition. I am convinced it is the nutrition they receive in Science Diet Adult light. I have recommended Science Diet to other cat owners, that have experienced the same healthy look in their cats after switching to Science Diet Adult. Thanks!!!

Even though our cat is 12, his vets recommend Science Diet Lite to keep his 16 pounds in check. He likes the food and the added benefits include a silky soft coat and clean teeth. What more could you ask of a cat food?
by connalexa on 05/16/2012
All my cats enjoy this immensly which is rare . I feel confident feeding this product knowing its also good for them
by jimmy on 05/16/2012
My first cat was on Hill's when I adopted him so I continued to purchase it for him. He loved it so much I had to ration his food or he became too fat. He did very well on the light diet for a long time.
by Kathy on 05/16/2012
My cat Orby is a bit older than the recommended age on the package, but he really likes the flavor and I checked with my vet and she said no problem. He has been eating it daily for a few years now and his weight does seem to have stabalized, so it seems like a great product. The cost is a bit high and I wish I could buy it at my local grocer instead of having to go to a specialty store or order online. The packaging is durable but the new zippered closure is a bit weak and usually does not maintain a good seal once opened and used a couple of times.

We have four adult cats and they love Science Diet. They are all indoor cats, and a couple of them are a little extra "fluffy" so we feed them the light food. Our household has been hit particularly hard by the economy, so we tried some less expensive food for a while. The cats ate it, but there were a lot more stomach problems and their coats were as thick and shiny. So, we decided to cut back elsewhere and now only buy the Science Diet foods. With our local pet store's loyalty program and Science Diet's coupons we still do really well and we feel much better about how we are caring for our furry kids.

My "girls" are on Science Diet Light, due to their veterinarian's recommendation. The girls have been deemed "portly." They do like it, so don't mind.
by Catlover on 05/16/2012
It is a great tasting filling food that has helped my Max lose three pounds and maintain the loss.

When I adopted my cat 6 months ago she had just turned 2 amd was quite overweight. Since starting on Science Diet Adult Light (as recommended by her vet) she's already making serious progress! She's visibly skinner and much more active! You can tell she feeling GREAT! She's still got a ways to go to reach her ideal weight but she's well on her way!

I have used various Science Diet Cat Foods for over 25 years and love this quality product.
by kittielover on 05/16/2012
This product helped my cat lose weight. Before, he was 16 pounds and you could the flab of his stomach hang down. Now, he is 14lbs. That 2lb off made a huge difference because he is more playful and energetic and looks great.
by Reviewer on 05/16/2012
I have a rather large but picky cat; he seems to love this food. I've just started feeding it to him, so I can't judge any weight loss, but I'm confident that he is getting the proper nutrition without excess fillers.
by shannonm on 05/16/2012
I love this product and do not mind spending the extra money to ensure that my special cat is getting all the nutrients she needs to prolong her life and ensure that she is living healthy and happily.

My cat started putting on a few pounds, so I decided to try something new from Science Diet and when I saw that there was a light dry food I decided to try it out. First feeding my cat was hooked, he tried eating straight out of the container. I can already see the difference in his weight!

I have multiple cats in my household, and all of them love their Science Diet. The only problem I have is keeping them out of each others bowls!
by Rikkimama on 05/16/2012
Daisy is a rescue and started off with Hill's kitten and I'm sorry to say I fattened her up. She now eats lite and she loves it. Always begging for more. Thanks Hills
by Grannancy on 05/16/2012
One of my two cats is 2 pounds overweight so my vet recommended both Science Diet Adult Light Dry and the wet chicken and liver. He prefers the dry over the wet and actually begs for more after receiving his alloted amount. He goes up to the bag and rubs against it to show me he wants more. He also has an unusal way of eating it; he gently removes from the bowl several bits at a time and eats if off the floor. My perfect-weight female loves to receive the dry light as a treat!

I have a special needs cat and the last thing I want to worry about is health issues. We have tried many foods through research and reviews and we finally found a product we both agree on. He knows the sound of food being poured into his bowl & he comes hobbling. I was tempted to try the product when a coupon came out in my paper & I'm glad I did, he loves it & I feel good feeding it to him. Hills Science Diet is brand I can trust and only puts out the best products.
by Hpoertner on 05/16/2012
My cats love this food and I do use this mixed with a Science Diet prescription from my Vet. The cats are very healthy, have gorgeous bright eyes and their coats are incredible. I get many compliments on the appearance of "kids" Have used Science Diet for many years and will continue to do so.
by Ajscarla on 05/16/2012
Cats enjoy the food. Like that it is lower calories and easy to measure. Size of the food pellets is perfect for cats. A little expensive though.
by Katzzndogzz on 05/16/2012
My cat is an indoor cat and a little overweight so I mix up the different dry food and she loves it. She also will eat this by itself - she has to keep her girlish feline figure.
by claire2954 on 05/16/2012
We have 3 female indoor cats & our vet recommended Hills Science dry food for them. He gave us a small bag to have them try & a coupon to purchase a bag if they liked it. They all liked it right away & I switched to the Light because they dont go out so they arent as active. The 3 of them are the correct weight for their size & ages & they have beautiful coats of fur! Our black cat Midnight has an extremely shiny coat. I have had cats all my life & always gave them the inexpensive grocery store brands until now. I will never switch my cats back...we are sticking with Hills Science Diet!! :)
by Jennifer on 05/16/2012
The adult light product povides all the "good stuff" and lets the kitty eat all he wants and still stay "slim". Try it, your cat will like it.
by george on 05/16/2012
I love this product mostly because it controls my litter odor! I have tried many brands of cat food and found that what goes in your cat must come out! I know that sounds funny. But if you choose to feed your cat cheap, poor quality food your litter will smell terrible. In the long run... I found out that you'll be more satisfied with a better quality food. That goes for you and your fur kid!
by Tara on 05/16/2012
My cats all love the taste of Science Diet. I trust your food to keep them healthy. I had a female siamese who lived to be nineteen years old eating only Science diet. She had abundant energy right up until the end. My sons cat eats Science diet also and he has beautiful fur and is so healthy.
by hisgirl58 on 05/16/2012
My cat enjoys the Science Diet Adult "Light" dry cat food. I originally had him on the "Indoor" variety, but the large chunks of kibble didn't work well for him, perhaps because he didn't chew up the pieces enough before inhaling them. No eating issues since the switch to the "Light" food, though, which has been great. When I first got him, he was quite underfed. He gained weight quickly and the "Light" variety has been great to keep him at a healthy maintenance weight, since he is an indoor cat and doesn't have as many opportunities to run as actively as an outdoor cat would.
by KateC on 05/16/2012
My cats, all seven of them, have been on Science Diet Light for about 6 years now. I have a cat with a sensitive stomach and when I switched to this food, her stomach issues disappeared. They like the flavor of it and I like the small bits. It works well with a couple of my older cats who have lost some teeth over the years. (Almost of them all rescues and so didn't get proper dental care until they were rescued.) Overall, I recommend any of the Science Diet products and I can especially recommend the Science Diet Light! It does cost more than some other reputable brands, but I end up using less because my cats process more of the food and there's less in the litter pan to scoop. It's great!
