My dog gets immense gas from this food and Gains weight from one cup a day. She is a 28lb cocker spaniel who should be 22 lbs. More importantly, your 27lb bag has sky rocketed over 43% like every single other dog food. That's higher than human food. yet between 2015 and 2019 your prices never changed, please don't insult our intelligence and say inflation because that is not what inflation is and a 43 percent increase in a product that is made in the usa and not checked by any oversight agencies is called Price Fixing. You have have raised your prices on all your products as has every other pet food company. A letter has been sent to the justice dept. letting them know that all you raised your prices not 10% put 35 to 55% as a money grab. Sorry but I price all your products and found on the internet a whole gammet of pet food jacked up to 55%. That's just unconscionable and disgusting.

Rani's internal medical veterinarian at our vet school clinic gave us a bag when I asked for a lower calorie low protein formula. We used this for over a year when she had PLN without azotemia. She loves it. My younger golden thinks it's treats. He wants some too.

My King Charles Cavalier loves Hill's 6 years and his overall health from good dog food has shown in his fur his stools less intake because dry food swells after it's wet!
by Max on 11/02/2022
Very happy with this dog food. Solved my pup's colitis after many false tries with other foods.
by Elaine on 08/01/2022
My dog puts his nose up in the air and turns his head with both the dry and wet causing frustration since there is a time line for the shot. I'm the pet owner.

Many nights in hospital from gastric issues until we started this food!!!! Will never use anything else!!!

Over the course of 2 years since my dog was diagnosed with diabetes, he became deathly ill on three occasions. I could not understand, as I did not change his diet and his glucose levels were ok. I read some disturbing reviews that Hills had "tweaked" the recipe. The main part of keeping a diabetic pooch stable is to keep their food stable. No forewarning by hills, just a poor pup throwing up and lethargic. How dare a company, that stipulates itself NOT to change a dogs diet too quickly as it upsets their stomach, do that to a diabetic dog or cat. Shame on you! No care factor whatsoever. I spoke to my vet, as I now make my dogs own, fresh food and he said most of his clients had also complained that hills change the recipe without notice. I suspect they're cheapening the ingredients. Won't ever use Hills again.
by Pauline on 10/12/2021
Hills continues to change this product. My dog, Maggie, has been a diabetic for 7 years and the product that we started with was wonderful. Recently they changed the product and I had difficulty feeding Maggie this food but she continued to eat it but something was wrong. Within the last 2 months, she will not even go near the food no matter how I try to disguise it. It is HORRIBLE
by Highpockets on 08/12/2021
Out dog has been on this diet for 4+ years, he's been good without having any problems, almost a year ago, he suddenly developed an acute diarrhea and we had no idea because we didn't change the diet at all, been to be vet multiple times and got everything checked, there was nothing wrong with the results, because our dog is diabetic and old so it would be better to be on this diet so we didn't change until it's absolutely unbearable, our dog wasn't energetic as he used to be and his diarrhea just wouldn't stop, so one day we changed to another diet and diarrhea stopped in few days, so I was curious and found out the new WD formula has been "improved" without noticing!
by Cooper on 01/15/2021
My dog had a bout of pancreatitis back in 2011 and was told by the vet to put him on , wd prescription diet weight management which my dog loved. Recently they went and changed it to the multi benefit. Why? New formula new taste. Well, my dog can't stand it and won't eat it. It's given him an upset stomach and making him sick. Why change something that isn't broken. So I've now had to find another prescription diet that he will eat and I'm not having any luck!
by Maria on 05/11/2020
I fed W/D to my dog Molly for something like 7-8 years ever since she was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and it worked well for her then the 'improved' version came out ! Molly stopped eating, started vomiting, tummy pains and sleeping.... so I found a new food. I thought maybe the new formula didn't agree with her. I went searching for a food she could have and when I found a couple to try I just happen to look back at the ingredients list again of the W/D I was weaning her off....... I was shocked and angry to see that you had increased the fat content from 9% fat to 13% without telling people in your proud sign "NEW IMPROVED FORMULA" You had not right to change a prescription diet food without giving full information. Have you ever seen a dog seriously ill with Pancreatitis, I am just lucky that Molly showed signs there was something wrong herself before she got seriously ill, I don't think I could go through it all again. After years of recommending W/D I am now telling everyone to keep away from it. I could never trust you again after not informing us the pet owners of your changes.
by Nette on 02/26/2020
Our pug has been eating W/D for 6 years--until now. She won't eat the new formula. Old formula was 5 stars, but not this one.
by Mark on 12/28/2019
My dog wont eat new formula. I hope that all vets visits etc and getting paid for by hills. My fur baby had been eating old formula for 5 yrs. Everything fine. I will be sueing them if my boy is sick from new sh....... and i will be going to media if i dont get response from them. Sick of companys just doing whatever they like whenever they like regardless of outcomes. If u any business brains you will go back to old formula b4 customers join together. And not even informed by budget pet supplies that its changed. Just take ur money. Challenge to company. Make us all happy
by Woo on 11/09/2019
PLEASE LISTEN TO ALL OF US GIVING 1 STAR - this product has had detrimental effects to our 4 year old diabetic Rottie. He was FINE on the previous formula, and since the change, he has been going downhill, sugars through the roof. He is now at the vets due to high blood sugar, pancreatitis and infected kidneys - AND high cholesterol. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
by Maddie on 11/09/2019
My 11 year old Labrador has been on W/D for over 12 months due to urine crystals. She has just started a new bag of your "improved" version of W/D. $881 dollars later we are not happy!!! Sever vomiting and all round not happy!!! Why change something that's not broken??! Today we had her at the vet and undertook X-ray., bloods with everything coming back normal. The vet has said that it may be a reaction to the new version of the food as she also suffers IBS. I'd you could send me a life supply of your old W/D myself and my dog would be very appreciative.
by Why?? on 10/26/2019
With the old formula, my dog was able to just eat the dry food on its own. I purchased a new bag (new improved formula) and my dog no longer wants to eat it. The new formula is no good! Please go back to old formula so my dog can eat his kibbles
by Po on 10/21/2019
I have used Hill's W/D (OLD FORMULA) for many years for my Yorksire Terrier. She was prescribed the W/D because of its LOW FAT dry matter percentage. This new formula has significantly increased the fat to the point that it is no longer something I can use to feed my pancreatatic dog. My vet was surprised when I mentioned this change. I think Hill's should reconsider the formula change or at least produce a low fat version so pet owners with pancreatic pets can resume using W/D.
by Pat on 10/21/2019
I have a 15 year old MinPin (Kafka), who has been diabetic for almost 5 years. I was prescribed Hills W/D by my Vet at MI state university animal hospitals when I received diagnosis. Kafka loved it. He's NOT a picky eater at all. I've never had to adulterate his food at all (I would occasionally add some warm water to change things up, that's it), but when Hills changed the formula to the W/D he completed rejected it. He will not eat it, even with egg whites and grated carrots, the additional of wet W/D, I've tried everything. I switched to a "high fiber" (9%) food of a different brand, but the main thing that helps diabetics is high soluble fiber, and old W/D formula had like 13-16% (AND it was edible). Kafka has become sick again after going through the mess caused by Hills, and I can't find a brand that has the fiber content he needs. His glucose is through the roof, he drinks water constantly, and urinates 12 times a day. I've fed science diet, and canine prescription to all of my Dogs and Cats, and I never had and issues until I started using canine W/D. I think the reason so many people give it high marks is because they're new users who never had the opportunity to try the other formula. "If changing your dog's food formula, do it gradually" Hills says?! Maybe take your own advice?
by Blakradish on 09/29/2019
My 5 yr old Bichon was diagnosed with diabetes 5 months ago. Prior to this he had been eating the Adult Science Diet (first for small dogs/small bites). The vet recommended that since he'd been eating Science Diet since a puppy, to start him on the W/D. At first, there was no problem, but since my last bag purchased, he won't eat it. I've tried softening the kibble with water, adding the W/D stew (which he also loved before). After around 5 days & holding his insulin because he wasn't eating enough to safely give, I took him to the vet, who now is concerned he will go into ketoacidosis, & was checked for pancreatitis., which thankfully he does not have, at least at this time. I was surprised to read all of the other reviews stating they are having the same issues as we are with the food. Sometimes, if it's not broke, don't fix it! Please return to the previous formula, before some dog is seriously injured or dies.

We have a 9 1/2 year old miniature dachshund that has insulin-deficiency diabetes. Maggie has been eating and enjoying Hill's w/d for 15 months and also having very good checkups. Just recently we noticed she is no longer liking the w/d formula like before. We now have to add a little bit of our Labs dog food to get her started. I read the w/d formula was changed. If so, why? I am thinking about changing her dog food brand. I would appreciate a reply back asap.
by Lloyd's of London on 09/27/2019
My 5 year old Cocker Spaniel has been on this food most of her adult life with very good results but when the product was reformulated within the last 6 months, it has caused her to have tummy issues (loose stools with blood). Not sure what change was made to the ingredients, but please go back to the old formula. My previous 2 Cocker Spaniels both ate this food for years with good results as did my current dog but whatever changed in the formula/ingredients is not good.
by SE from SD on 09/22/2019
My dog ate this food eagerly for 10 years. The day they changed to the "new improved taste," he stopped eating it. I have switched him to another food from another company. Hill's are you reading these reviews? I just read about 10 that are identical to mine. Go back to the previous formula.

She didnt like the tate or smell I will not use this product until they change it back Hopefully the vet will take the bag back :(

Please bring back the wight management W/D glucose control! This food is terrible! My baby has been eating the other for many years and his glucose was fine. This has him drinking water CONSTANTLY and his glucose going up. Too much fat content? I don't know but he's a diabetic and his diet has been RUINED! What's wrong with you people?
by Achilles on 09/19/2019
The previous formula was the only food our dog could eat without getting diarrhea. The new formula has made him completely sick. The vet told us it's the same. Not possible. I'm very disappointed. I don't know what we're going to do.
by Buddy's mom on 09/14/2019
Ever since you have changed the formula it has been nothing but a struggle to get my diabetic dog to eat it. I now have to mix in the WD canned food to get him to eat it. And even then it's still a struggle. Another added cost. Do you have any idea how hard & stressful it is to get a diabetic dog to eat his recommended amount of food?! Go back to the old formula!!
by Julie on 09/07/2019
Why have you changed a good product?? I moved my 14 yo Labrador to WD dry food combined with a very small amount of CD urinary care canned food on the advice of my vet and in response to recurring UTI's. The blend was to provide variety and the WD helped manage her weight . The dry CD did cause weight gain hence the move to WD. The kibble size at least slowed her down eating it and was a great treat to carry on walks. We have been very happy and relieved that the UTI's were a thing of the past an no more antibiotics on a regular basis. She almost inhales this new smaller kibble and then looks for more food. Having read other reviews I am know nervously watching to see if there are new problems emerging. I spend a fortune on giving our girl the best of diet , supplements and medication to enhance the quality of her life. And by the way, thanks for the price increase to have this new brew.! Please go back to the original WD which I can give our girl with confidence.

After the change in formula my 12 yr old yorkie went back to excessive thirst. Also has caused flair ups with her pancreatitis. Will have to switch.

New formula of W/D is horrible. My lab has eaten W/D for years. Since they changed the formula he now has horrible.stomach issues. No one can give me a good alternative to what the old formula was. We have to stop using it altogether. Disappointed in the company for changing a prescription food so dramatically so that now dogs who have eaten it for years no longer can.
by Kat on 08/31/2019
My dog is almost 11 years old and has been on the w/d for about 6 years. When I reordered I thought maybe I had ordered the wrong food. After questions and inquiries I have learned that they have changed it. She does not like it, but eats it, somewhat unwillingly. Why do companies change something that is already working? PLEASE change it back!!!
by Jill on 08/29/2019
Why did you change your formula?!?! My dog has been on W/D for 10years! Been great...until you changed it to the "multi-benefit"...my dog doesn't want to eat it, she's bloating up, and having weird reactions to it!! PLEASE, PLEASE bring the old one back!! I am currently looking at different brands because I cannot keep her on this!!
by A.Sim on 08/22/2019
My wiemie was over weight. I gave her w/d and she loved it n lost weight. She has a sensitive stomach and many foods give her the runs. This was ideal as her poop was always ok and she was lean n mean. She eats the same n gets the same exercise but her poop is not as firm within new formula and she is gaining weight with the same amout of food. Go back to the old formula
by Jen on 08/19/2019
We have been feeding our dog WD for 8 years. She loved it. Since the formula change we can't find a good she will eat. Any chance to change it back?
by Haley on 08/18/2019
My diabetic dog has been on the W/D formula for well over a year. I just got a new bag and it's different, even looks different, but the vet office told me it was the same, it better...my dog ate it up, then got sick and threw up..now his sugar is high as a kite and he drinking and peeing like crazy.,,this "better" food formula is going to,cost me a vet visit :/
by Mickey on 08/18/2019
My MinPin with diabetes used to gobble WD unadulterated. With the new formula, he'll barely touch it with canned added. He dislikes the WD wet as well, so I have to cook brown rice, and add a little runny scrambled egg. I'm going to get another food. Too expensive to have to add stuff so it's palatable to a dog.
by Blakradish on 08/16/2019
I have been purchasing this specific product since my GSD was 1 1/2 years old and suffering from diarrhea. Once we started him on the old produce (larger rounded kibble) his stool settled into nice firm logs. In march, we received the same order but the product was now flat kibble and his diarrhea came back. I called, and upon suggestion I was told to try the Biome and it got worse. We had some of the orriginal kibble in our motor home and started him back on that and in 1 "ONE" day his stool was back to solid ! ! ! !

Have been feeding W/D for almost 4 years, since the "improved" formula started, my dog has had trouble with his glucose levels, he has now quit eating the dry food and his coat is terrible. This new food is horrible. Hill's had a great product and screwed it up.
by Linda on 07/24/2019
My dogs both have sensitive stomachs and a few extra pounds. They loved the Hill's W/D, but now that there is a new updated "multi-benefits" w/d, my pups won't touch it. I am so disappointed. Please bring back the old formula - it was wonderful for my pups. Now I need to find something else that will be easy on their stomachs and less dense in calories.
by Mamaof4qts on 07/06/2019
My Schnauzer has been on Hills W/D for about 4 years - your recently new and improved product is not so improved. Our little dog hates it. 1st time he was introduced to it - he smelled of it, backed up and barked at it. Please go back to the original.
by Sandi on 07/02/2019
My diabetic dog had been perscribed this food for about two years and she always loved it. It got her to a good weight and she would eat it all. She is NOT a picky eater whatsoever (shes a beagle). But since you changed your formula to the "multi benefit" she has been sick to her stomach, her sugar has been off the charts and she wont eat it (which is SHOCKING for her). All this is to say that we will be discontinuing our use of this food.
by Carmen the beagle on 06/25/2019
Please please bring back the old stock. My Minature schnauzer does not like this new stuff. It's completely different and even smells different. I purchase a spiral dog bowl off Amazon to slow her eating and now she has a hard time eating it because it's flat. The formula is even changed up. Smells completely different. If I could I wouldn't even give a one star. ????

My 10 year old dog was just diagnosed with diabetes about a month ago and I had to switch up all his food. My vet recommended W/D dry and canned. I have 4 other dogs ages 3 months, 13, 3, and 4. I free feed them the WD dry, and they all love it. Of course I give the puppy canned puppy food too, because she different nutritional needs. Everyone's stool is firm and easy to pick up. My only complaint, if you could call it that, would be a smaller kibble available. My 13 year old chihuahua doesn't have all her teeth and could use a smaller kibble. Great quality food though.
by Beatle girl Jodi on 03/26/2019
My 11yr old female Australian Kelpie was diagnosed diabetic a year ago. Insulin twice daily. She started out well on the dry and wet food, even though I had to remortgage the house to buy. Her food bill is double what mine and wife's is combined. She started to turn her nose up at her food after 9 months. She has never said no to food before and yes I took her straight to the vet. She did have an underlying condition but as she started to come good she still refused to eat the Hills W/D Glucose Management. I looked at the ingredients and saw no real protein and this is what a diabetic dog needs, high protein, low fat, no carbs. So for the price I have been paying I am very disappointed. I strongly recommend that you shop around and read the rear panels for ingredients and protein/fat levels.
by Love my Kelpies on 12/28/2018
My dog will not eat, she hates the taste. I tried mixing with other food and she sorts it and spits out the science diet. Need to add a flavor to it.

Chesterfield loves the stuff. He gets this with other food but we are leaning heavily towards larger portions with time.
by Mervyn Devine on 04/24/2018
My dog became diabetic 2 years ago and my vet prescribed the W/D glucose management formula. We use the dry with a tablespoon of wet mixed in. He loves it and it has helped with his problem along with his daily doses of insulin. Wouldn't feed him anything else. He also loss the necessary 5 lbs. he needed to lose. He's a mixed Bichon.

My veterinarian recommended WD for my first Labrador who had puppy peeing issues. She loved it and ate it throughout her life. Since then I've had three more Labradors, and fed only WD. All have been a perfect weight. My last girl lived to 15. My vet says Labradors tend to get fat very easily and this food is perfect. My current year old Labrador looks so trim and fit. Loves her WD. Could not be happier.

Ever since Nala was 3 (Now 13) w/d has been the best for her digestive issues. I have tried to change to other foods and she always gets sick. This food keeps her away from the vet's office, she is very strong and has great endurance. Still runs 3 miles most days and can hike 10-15 miles with no problem. I know is the Prescription Diet

My greyhound has horrible diarrhea if he doesn't have W/D daily. This product allows us to feed him any type of canned food without any problems. Highly recommended for greyhounds with sensitive stomachs (and there are many).
by greengirl on 01/25/2017
I had a 5 month old Golden Retriever pup who got a serious stomach infection. Put her on meds and rice as she had horrible diarrhea. SO we attacked the infection but couldn't overcome her runs. It passed on to my 18 month old Golden. Vet told me to put them on this diet for the fiber. It was literally instantaneous. I was shocked how the first bathroom break after I fed them the food how they were not having the runs. After the first 3 feedings I could see they were on a normal healthy cycle. Can't speak for others but first time I have ever encountered such a drastic change. I'll keep them on this. Eventually I'll do a dilution mix, since this is so expensive, with other food. That way I can make sure they continue on this protocol going forward..
by Miis V on 01/19/2017
Have been feeding W/D to my Airedales for over twenty years. They like it and it keeps their stools firm and easy to pick up. My complaint is the packaging. Since Hills' switched to the plastic bag every time I try to open one, I get PO'd. Am I missing something? I am ready to switch to another product.
by hairybeast on 11/02/2016
I bought this product for my dog a couple months ago when she was having diarhea problems. Her bowl movements are so nice and firm that I decided to keep her on this food, even though it is expensive. She is a Toy Poodle/American Eskimo breed.

My female Cesky Terrier was diagnosed with bladder stones about 8+ years ago, at which time my male Cesky Terrier, from a different breeder, was tested. He did not have stones, but had crystals in his urine which is the precursor for bladder stones. She underwent surgery and his condition was treated with medication. Both were placed on Hills w/d kibble and w/d wet food had no further problems. Our girl is now gone and the male is almost 13 years old. Unfortunately he has become a very picky eater and no longer likes large cans of w/d and refuses to eat kibble without wet food. Recently his Vet gave us a free sample of Hill's w/d small canned wet food which has chunks of food and gravy. He gobbled up all his food without prompting and was looking for more. This product is a bit pricy but not having to put your dog through the pain of surgery and the cost is well worth it. Also, I love the added feature of velcro that was added to the bag, it makes closing easy and helps keep the food fresh. Great idea! This product does what it's suppose to do; I would have rated it with 5 stars if I could get my picky eater to eat it all the time and not have to constantly come up with new ways to get him to eat.

My dog does not like this product alone. I have to mix it with the w/d canned which is quite expensive. It does not appeal to her at all. However it does make her have solid stools. Wondering if it can be made a little more tasty for dogs to enjoy better.
by dar52 on 09/28/2015
I've found no other food my dog tolerates for her medical issue. No other company's food comes close in having the required specifications of the incredients her Veterinarian suggests. Maggie May is doing well on the Hill's food she eats.
by Maggie8Peggy on 09/26/2015
My 13 year old pug requires this food for his health condition. The pieces are a little large for him as he has very few teeth. Smaller kibble size would be better as he doesn't chew it at all. I mix the canned w/d with this dry kibble. He will not eat just dry food. The food is expensive and the price seems to keep going up. It is sometimes hard for us to afford to pay the price but we cut back in other areas so that he gets the food he needs. He seems to really like the taste and our other dogs would really like to sample his food.

I didn't know if my pet would make the switch after almost eight years with his old food plus a variety of different tastes available to him. But he took to it right away and seems to really enjoy it two months after the change. I realize it is a better quality of food than his past, but between the cost of his food and required medication (Now on a daily basis) my budget has been impacted significantly. I rely on the coupons you offer to make it work. Thank you.
by RickOscar on 09/21/2015
We use this because our dog loves the flavor and she can't wait for dinner time.
by spwhitta on 09/21/2015
This is the greatest dry, wet canned and treats! I have used prescription diet for years and would highly recommend it for anyone that can afford it. Unfortunately, I am now retired and at the rate it keeps going up, I won't be able to afford it much longer (even with the little amount given in coupons).
by NancyH on 09/19/2015
Just wish the price wasn't so high. Coupons more often would also be helpful. For a large dog, this is quite expensive since the bags only last her a little over 3 weeks.
by mpadwa11 on 09/19/2015
good stuff , the dog loves the food. it keeps him healthy
by shelby38 on 09/17/2015
Only dog food my dogs can eat without getting sick...Expensive though, but at least the dogs seem to love it without getting ill and I have tried them all.

Prescribed for our ailing Bouvier. Solid from slimy stools so it is working but I worry about the nutrition level for a large breed puppy of just 7 months of age.
by Mickster on 09/12/2015
my dog loves it and lost a lot of weight, but it is pricey. still worth it for his health.

no issues or complaints will continue to use the product

Our black lab who will 9 years old this month had stopped eating her old food and was having very loose stool. She was going all the time. Our vet suggested trying w/d food for 10 days to see how she would. It has a higher fiber count than her old food. She was eating it great for a couple of days then she picky so now we have too add w/d can to her dry. It has stopped her problems and she ready to eat again.
by Dane on 09/06/2015
This prescription food does work, but it is very very expensive. A lower cost or more coupons would be a help.
by joyryde on 09/02/2015
MONEY is the biggest issue. Your company use to do coupons..haven't seen any for months. To keep our furbabies healthy and alive, we need this product!! Please supply more coupons more often..PLEASE

For about 9 years my dog has been eating Prescription Diet w/d and loved it. The food would barely hit the bowl and she would be eating it up so fast. Her digestion was regular and her coat was shiny. Recently, the formula was updated to apparently include "better chicken parts" and she completely rejected eating it. We had to switch to another Prescription Diet food but she also does not like that very well but eventually will eat it. The new chicken flavor smells not only in the bag and bowl but her breath is awful too. She never had a problem with that before. Her coat seems dry and she is shedding more than she every has before. We've been happy with the Prescription Diet for the past 9 years and recommend the brand but the new switch is not settling well with our 11.5 year old dog. Bring back the plain w/d!!
by MichelleSD on 08/12/2015
W/D is the only product available that I know of at this time. That being said, the product is great for the control of my pets sugar level, along with insulin he has injected twice a day. I only wish the pet store we use would keep this product in stock. We have gone several times when they were out of stock. I also requested them to keep more on hand but this has not been done.
by rojan99 on 08/09/2015
The W/D dry dog is good. My dog likes it very well. it helps him maintain his weight. but the cost is very expensive. for a 27lb. bag. I have not been able to get any coupons from Hill's on there web site.nor at the Vets office.

W/d has help maintain my digs health. It is consistent and he does not experience any ups or downs in his blood sugar.

by Linuskk on 06/24/2015
I have a large breed dog that needed to lose some weight, but was very hungry when just decreasing his food amount. Switching to w/d was great. He was much more satisfied and stopped trying to counter surf and still lost the weight that he needed. I'm excited to see how he continues at his new weight.
by zoogirl on 05/29/2015
Have been feeding Science Diet W/D, both dry and canned, to my various dogs since 1989. I feel this formula has allowed them to live long, healthy lives in spite of some negative health issues.
by mimi352 on 05/22/2015
W/D is working great for both conditions my dog is experiencing.
by Dani1986 on 05/21/2015
It fills her up and gives her consistant, solid stools!!
by hotrodRP on 05/19/2015
I have been feeding my dogs W/D dry now for several years with great results. Both of my Frenchies tended to always have loose stools and 1 of them runs on the heavy side. After putting them on W/d, their stools are now firmer and their weight is under control. I recommend this food to all my clients and friends as a great all around maintnance diet.

Our son and his wife are currently stationed in Japan. Rather than take their pug, Bailey, with them, they asked us to pet-sit Bailey for the 3-year tour. Luckily, Bailey is best friends with our dog. After suffering through biweekly episodes with Bailey's overactive glands for 8 months, our vet suggested we try Hill's Prescription W/D food. Along with stopping the overactive gland episodes, we have seen the following benefits from W/D: no more bad breath, no more pungent burps, much less snoring, much less shedding, better stools, a lean and mean 16 pound weight, and a very healthy Perfect Pug. Thank you Hill's for helping us as we serve our country and pet-sit our Marine Grand-Pug, Bailey.
by Tibino27 on 04/22/2015
W/D dry and canned are terrific. Beau has always been a fussy eater with a sensitive stomach. He was also a bit overweight (the vet politely called him portly). Since he's been on W/D he eats every meal eagerly, has slimmed down, and has firm bowel movements. This was vet recommended and I'm grateful for her advice.
by BOBO123 on 04/17/2015
Have been dealing with my pugs gastro issues for years ... bouts of vomiting and would be unsettled. Vet put him on id and then zd but he developed loose stools and after only a few days on wd he's doing great! Only question though is about the feeding guidelines ... my pug is on the taller side and is 30 pounds, big for his breed but due to his height really only needs to lose about 5 pounds. However, the guidelines suggests over two cups a day for him and this seems like an enormous amount of food (even given the high fiber content) so I'm experimenting and hoping I'm not under-feeding the poor guy, hard to tell since he always acts hungry, he is a pug after all!
by Fay72 on 01/28/2015
The retail price of your food just jumped up by $10.00. I have been using your product for well over ten years and have never seen a price increase like this. My Old English Sheepdog, loves the food, but with this price increase I will start searching for an alternative. A 17.6 lbs bag (which in itself was a cost increase a few years ago when you went with a smaller bag for the same cost) should not have increased by $10.00. With lower fuel costs, I just don't understand how you justify this increase. If I can find a replacement, you have lost a customer.
by acac on 01/19/2015
Our dog has bee placed on this diet due to having crystals in her urine and to see if this helps. She has had frequent UTI's and the urinalysis is showing crystals. She had been on the CD diet but still had the same problem and began gaining a lot of weight. Calli is just finishing antibiotics for another UTI and then our vet is going to repeat the urinalysis tosee if there are still crystals so as to determine if the crystals are showing just with the infection or if she still has them even after the infections is cleared.

Shar-peis are very sensitive dogs. This product has maintained my dog's digestive system under control. My dog is almost 12 years old with the demeanor of a teenager. He enjoys eating his food and since I started him on the Hills Prescription diet, he has never had a problem with his digestive system. I use the Hills Science Diet Advance Fitness (Small Bites) and Small & Toy Breed (Light) for my other dogs.

My dogs seems to have better bathroom deposits- doesn't seem to have as much gas or discomfort. Some of the bloating has gone down.
by Cathi311 on 10/07/2014
I have used W/D over the years to supplement a mixture of other non prescriptive dry kibble with the purpose in mind of adding significant fiber to my Rottie's diet. She is non-symptomatic, and I find that the addition of WD fills her without adding too much caloric content. Weight gain, then, becomes a non-issue, and even though I pay more for WD, the price is worth it! My pet weights a svelte 108 pounds...big for her breed but well proportioned and not overweight.
by UmatheRottweiler on 10/03/2014
My dog is doing well on this food since he was diagnosed with a medical condition. However, the price is outrageous. Also coupons have only been available once and I'm not allowed to print anymore. I have to keep using it for his health, but I feel taken advantage of by the price.
by OutOfCash on 09/30/2014
This is the only food that my dog can eat due to sensitivity. She loves it!
by troublesue on 09/25/2014
Our Bichon has been on tis prescription food for almost 7 years. Before starting this, she had much trouble relieving herself. On this food, she has had no problem. It is the only food she gets (besides an occasional treat or handful of cheerios) and she still actively seeks and eats. If we are more than 15 minutes past mealtime, she will come and sit and stare until she gets fed. Must be pretty tasty to her. Only hiccup is the price. If it remains the same, the size bag goes down. We have been making use of coupons offered by Hill's.

Thank very much for eliminating the pop-top on the 13 ounce can of W/d dog food. I purchased a case of your food on Friday 9/19/14 and was very pleased to find the "old-style" cans back on the shelves in force. You said you were going to do it and you did. Thank you so much for listening and keeping your word. And now, I will keep buying your product... : )

We have a geriatric dog who had no issues with a very well-known dry dog food that he had been eating his entire life (in one formulation or another over the years). Additionally, the various meds he had been on for well over 5 years didn't seem to have any negative reaction with the digestibility of that food. About nine months ago, our dog all of a sudden developed extremely loose and frequent stools as well as began to loose weight... All this occurred with no change in food or medications. He also started to not be as interested in eating. Since changing his medication was not an option and the tests that were done showed no other issues, our vet suggested we start him on W/D dry. We started him out on a food transitional plan. Once we realized that it was working to help him, we then worked with the vet to increased the volume of his feed in order to help him gain back some weight and maintain that level. Today, our dog's weight is ideal. We are very pleased with the quality of W/D. We labeled our review as being 'Excellent' as it relates to 'Value for the money'. This product is definitely more expensive than a lot of dry dog foods, but since it works we consider it an excellent value.

My dog seems to like the flavor of this food. She has been on the dry and canned for eight months and I have been quite satisfied with it. A little pricey but it's what the "doctor" ordered.
by Tonni38 on 08/21/2014
My weim dropped almost 20 lbs in a year using this product. As she is a senior, the weight loss was very beneficial to her health and well-being. I add the same prescription wet food to her feedings along with the dry to give her a little variety. She reminds me when it's time to eat by dumping her bowl upside down! I would recommend this low-fat dog food for anyone who has a senior dog or a dog with weight management problems.
by Sagesmomma on 08/13/2014
I discovered when feeding this dry food, my dog didn't like it. She wouldn't finish her food and when I did get her to eat it, it was not as effective at maintaining my dog's glucose level.

I do like the fact that my dog does like the taste, but don't understand also why it needs a prescription in order to get this.
by rambo863 on 07/16/2014
Our two Chocolate Labs eat WD. Their bowel movements are predictable and solid. They love it. I love it as I can pretty much predict the outcome of their meal. There is zero gas associated with WD and my animals. We tried a few others before we came to WD and I can tell you that gas from two labs is no fun! I gave the value for the money a 4 out of 5 just because the cost is high. Having two large dogs, we go through two large bags a month. It adds up. But they are happy, healthy and their coats look great. They are worth it!
by Henry0314 on 07/15/2014
Great product, dog loves it, keeps her weight down. However this product is expensive and appreciate when I can use a coupon. We may have to change her food due to this ongoing expense after reading reviews of less expensive food which offer the same results.
by clms on 07/14/2014
My aging pets and I are enjoying having the prescription purple dog food. MY problem is NOT having a larger bag. I would prefer to buy larger than a 20 - 25 lb bag. I would prefer a fifty lb bag because I would not need to go to the Vet to buy dog food once a month.

I started feeding W/D Hill's Prescription dog food to our dog per our Vets recommendation because, our pet was having problems with his current food causing him to get an upset stomach with lots of gas which was very bad and he was getting a little chubby. As soon as we started him on this dog food our dog showed immediate relief from all the stomach upset also he has trimmed down a lot, he now acts younger and is healthier. We couldn't be more happier with this dog food. We are very glad our Vet recommended this product to us and now we would never feed anything else to our dog. Thanks Science Diet!

by Maggie4736 on 06/22/2014
I find it hard to believe the price for this food is related to it's cost of production. The extreme high cost is based on the fact that those who have to use it have no alternative. Nutritionaly it's only a slightly better than average grocery store brand.

W/D prescription dry food for dogs solved the diarrhea problem in our now 8 year old female German Sheperd. What a relief. She has been eating this for about a year...it's like night and day. It's not cheap, but is worth it to solve problem.

I had switched my dog to one of the mature Science Diet lines a few months ago. and for some reason as a result, my dog continually gained weight and became lethargic. I took him to the vet who recommended the Prescription W/D line dry food. It has helped tremendously and my dog's overall health has improved significantly. The only draw back to this food is the price. It is a little more pricey than his regular Science Diet line of food.

This dog food seems to satisfy my dogs every craving at feeding time. She enjoyed the moist food, however now she can enjoy her 1-1/2 cup of food whenever she wants it during the day,if she doesn't eat it all for breakfast. She gets the same amount in the evening-later on she will finish it for a night snack. Does not smell-odor-when left out in her bowl.

Our dog, who we acquired from our children was extremely finikey and grazed his food, never finishing his meal. Being a Westie-schnauzer mix, he also had some digestive issues. We tried several brands, but nothing worked. Once we switched over to WD (same as we used for our old dog), his appetite changed, devouring the food immediately. Further, the digestive issues disappeared.
by wesley1 on 05/31/2014
I was skeptical about our dog eating a food that our vet prescribed for her b/c she is such a picky eater. When trying new foods; we typically would have to mix the old food with the new food to get them to switch. However, with Hill's Prescription Diet w/d all three of our dogs ate the food without us mixing with any other food. Though only one dog was prescribed this food; all of our dogs enjoy it and our vet told us that is good for all of our dogs.
by missrobster on 05/29/2014
Our dog was diagnosed with several problems. The big concern was stomach issues. He has been on this dry dog food for over a year now. I think we have had two out breaks with stomach issues in that year time frame. This works really well in stopping his upset stomach and helped him with weight loss. He loves this food. He really woofs it down and sits by the pantry wanting more. This food does make our dog really lap up the water bowl. All on all, he is a very happy dog!

We have two older dogs that have been putting on a lot f weight as our toddler supplements their food with hers. (We are working on this...) The vet suggested this food, and I have to say that they love it and seem to stay full longer which is important. One of my dogs is a scavenger and if he can't get it from our toddler he will go about it other ways. He has stopped doing this since giving him this food. We need to get him weighed soon so that will be the real judge, but I am hopeful!

My 7 year old Beagle was diagnosed with struvite bladder stones and she needed a special diet to minimize reoccurences after having emergency bladder surgery. Our vet & Hills collaborated and recommended the W/D diet food. Her weight has dropped and her bladder stone problem is no longer an issue. We also put our slightly overweight 10 year old beagle on it and she has lost several pounds as is now energetic and more mobile.
by mikeydf14 on 04/30/2014
This dog food does a good job of helping my dog lose and maintain a healthy weight. My dog prefers just a little bit of the canned w/d mixed with the dry. I am not sure if that is for flavor or if it is just easier for an older dog to eat if it is mixed. Since she is restricted to two meals a day, I am really impressed with the way the w/d holds her over until her next meal. Complimented with w/d dog treats, it is a great diet/meal plan for dogs on a restricted diet.

THANK YOU HILL'S DIET: I have two Shih~tzu's that are on Hill's Prescription Diet. I use both the **Dry Bag**, and the **Canned Wet** W/D Canine Low Fat-Glucose Management-Gastrointestinal Formula. This drug also added more WEIGHT to Levi's small frame. Levi finally became strong enough (BLOOD COUNT UP) to have her Kidney Stones REMOVED. My Vet then sent one of the STONES to the Lab to see what the Stones where made of. What was she (Eating to form these STONES) ! The report came back to much **Calcium** and **Phosphorus** in her OLD FOOD. The vet then did a SEARCH to see what kind of DOG FOOD would be best for **Levi** to stop the Kidney Stones from forming again, and to **Lose this Weight She had Gained from STEROIDS Post Kidney Stones. **HILL'S WD CANINE** The vet said that Levi Would~Not feel HUNGRY while dieting on this SPECIAL DIET and it was low in Calcium and Phosphorus ! {*I tested WD myself by dropping the Dry Dog Food in Water, it double's in size when WET ! This Keeping my dog from feeling HUNGRY*} The following month after Levi's Illness, **Stetson** jumped off My very high Bed and landed on his LEFT BACK LEG WRONG. Stetson had Blew Out His Knee just like Ball Player's do. This meant KNEE SURGERY for **Stetson**. Stetson had his Knee Repair, but ALSO put on a few pound's while in RECOVERY. Again the Vet Suggested we put Stetson on WD FOR CANINE. **BOTH** **LEVI and STETSON** are doing OK **NOW** ! We are still a WORK in PROGRESS with our **WEIGHT** ! < < **NOW WE KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM**>> < < **Both **LEVI and STETSON** are NOW EATING WD PRESCRIPTION DIET**>> And Spring Has Finally Arrived ! Look Out New DOGGIE Park, Here We Come !!!!!

This is an excellent product for your pet. I have been using it for years and have never had any problems. The dogs love it and they are always at a health weight.

One of my dogs was recently diagnosed by our vet with a medical condition that the RX food is keeping his lab levels within normal range that will help to extend his life along side a wonderful quality of life. I had not previously used this brand of dog food but have been so impressed with it's results that i have now switched all my other dogs to this brand of dog food to meet their needs with the help of my vet!

WD has been excellent in maintaining our Golden Retrievers weight as well as his digestive problems. I always felt so sorry for him when I could hear the gas just rumbling around in his stomach when he was just lying on the floor. We knew he was in pain. We put him on the WD and he has been on it for 2 years now and he is a much happier, healthier pet and we don't have to put up with the awful smelly gas any more. Thank you Hills Science for such a wonderful product.
by Gloria39 on 03/26/2014
Product was recommended by my vet and seems to work well.
by Dogowner37 on 03/22/2014
Prescription Diet WD is the only food on the market which is listed as having low magnesium content which my dog medically requires. It avoids the weight gain brought on by using c/d which we've tried. WD has also made our dog start acting like she's a puppy again. She is more energetic and acts like she feels she's on top of the world.
by BillyBob19 on 03/22/2014
Our dog was finiky and had some gastrointestinal issues common with schnauzers. When we put him on wd-he devoured his meals and had no tummy issue.
by Barry19 on 03/17/2014
My dog was having issues with constant bacterial overgrowth which in turn resulted in messy stool. Since we have been feeding him Hill's WD, he has had no issues whatsoever. The product is definitely expensive, however it is worth it to ensure my dog's gastrointestinal happiness!!
by Megs11 on 03/14/2014
Oscar, a basset hound, weighed 85 pounds at one point and is now down to 65 pounds, thanks to Science Diet W/D and controlled portions twice per day.
by jkpp04 on 03/11/2014
This food keeps my dog healthy and happy. Wish it was a little less expensive.
by airkahuna on 03/09/2014
Has kept Kayla out of the hospital and lean for 5 years! It has been a relief
by Frod1 on 03/05/2014
My vet recommended Prescription Diet when I discovered my French Bulldog had a very sensitive stomach. Ever since we switched, she loves her food & never has any digestive issues. Which is saying a lot for a Frenchie! It's not the cheapest food, but then again, I wouldn't want to eat the cheapest food on the shelf either. After 3 years, I can't imagine feeding her anything else. The vet says she is a happy & healthy dog. Thanks Prescription Diet!
by Melody888 on 02/27/2014
My dogs really like it,and I think it keeps them healthy!! With having 4 dogs enjoying it,wish it was a little cheaper, but I know it's good quality food for them. Robin

The dog food is expensive and I have to have a prescription making it difficult to purchase. I would by less expensive food if my dog didn't needed it.
by Isabella1979 on 02/16/2014
Love this food....a bit pricey, but it works for both of my dogs' and regulates their diet and stools.
by CrystalKPurple on 02/11/2014
No matter what low-calorie food we fed our Scottie, nothing seemed to work without almost starving him. We've been using w/d for 8 months and now he's the correct weight. We want to treat him right so that he has the best chance of living longer. The extra weight doesn't help and this food help him shed the pounds while keeping him full.
by KARH4 on 02/04/2014
My dog is using this product for weight control and improper ph's. He lost the extra weight and has not had any more health concerns from his ph being off.
by generalnuisance on 01/19/2014
I have fed my dogs Science Diet for almost 20 years now. I believe in all the products. This particular one has been very beneficial in supplying the needed supplements and vitamins for my special needs dog. He loves the Science Diet both wet and dry. I wouldn't think of feeding him anything else.
by Lildstudio on 01/19/2014
My 2 little dachshunds love this brand and I love it because they were able to loss weight and keep it off. They sit there for the longest time after they have finished eating and just lick the bowls. Wish the company would have more coupons.
by Dking41 on 01/18/2014
Our Dog is a 10 yr old mix who is and was always active. We almost lost her in the summer of 2013, she had major surgery and thanks to the vet and staff pulled through. They rec'd Hills Prescription Dietยฎ w/dยฎ Canine Low Fat-Glucose Management-Gastrointestinal. She pulled through and acts like she is 5 years old, and we think the food may be part of her recovery. She'll eat it dry too and she can be very picky.
by 6Brownies4NH on 01/16/2014
My beagle mix would eat just about anything, even if it made her sick. However, when she ended up with bladder stones and a thyroid problem, Hill's Prescription Diet came to her rescue along with her thyroid pill. She topped at 41 lbs at her highest. With her lifestyle changes she was able to drop weight and maintain at 18 lbs. Hill's Prescription Diet Dog Food has made the difference in our life because it has helped with my dog's longevity in her health by providing the right nutrients tailored to her needs. To help her with losing her weight she ate R/D dry and when she was down to a healthy weight she ate W/D. She has been on W/D for 7 years.
by BeeGee02 on 01/14/2014
Expensive for my budget----coupons would be very helpful.
by marbles on 01/11/2014
Willow loves her food and we use this as treats as well. It took care of the issues with vomiting and weight. Thank you.
by Toots on 01/10/2014
Since being on this product our dog has had no digestive problems whatsoever. Except for the price being too high while my husband and I are unemployed, your product is the best
by Wesley on 01/06/2014
I was losing my dog to pancreatic disorders from feeding him what i thought was a good named brand food, the vet switched him to the wd prescription diet food, and now hes lost all the extra weight on him even though he eats the same amount. Hes 13 years old, and even tough he cant run with the young dogs, hes got his spunk back, and it seems to have added years to his life.
by 1trouble on 01/04/2014
My dog Jim had diarrhea for 3 months straight, we tried different foods and medication and nothing was working. So my vet decided to have us try Prescription Diet W/D and it worked within a couple of days! That was a year ago and he is still good! So we will be staying on this food so we never have that problem again!
by Heath23 on 01/03/2014
she's never finicky about the food, always anxious to eat
by Candy on 01/01/2014
Both my labs were overweight and their vet put them on r/d... they lost the weight they needed and are now on w/d as a maintenance! Very satisfied with Science Diet:)
by Smiles76 on 12/28/2013
My dog has chronic urinary issues which requires a diet to lower her pH. W/d not only achieves that, but the high fiber keeps her from gaining weight without her thinking I'm starving her. Plus she likes to eat things she shouldn't...and w/d keeps her GI tract from getting too upset!
by z00girl on 12/20/2013
Payton is a 10 1/2 year old Great Dane who had chronically loose stool. We had tried several different formulations with no luck creating consistent stool texture. Then we tried w/d and hit paydirt! No more semi-soft stool, and she seems to feel better.
by DrRobinDVM on 12/19/2013
The food made a huge difference in the weight of my pet and it help lower her glucose.

Great product, resonably priced, and is the right food for our dog Newt. The WD formula keeps him at a healthy weight and compliments his prescription medicine.
by Doug on 12/16/2013
Complete and nutritious canine food. that is considered overpriced.
by Mocca on 12/13/2013
Over the years we have had 4 dogs who all have ended up on prescription diet. We now have two dachshunds that are on w/d for weight control. One of them is also on it for gastrointestinal problems. Our two dachshunds are certified therapy dogs and we would not feed them anything else. When our vet decided to no longer carry Hills prescription diet, rather than change foods, we changed vets. We found out that it was a change for the better. We now go to a vet that provides what our puppies need. We use dry food for their meals and canned food to bake into treats. After putting both puppies on this food, we have had no other problems. Hills Prescription diet is what is best for our dogs and that is what they will get throughout their life. Since our puppies provide comfort and therapy to many adults and children, the very least we can do is to provide them with the nutrition they need and love. To us, w/d stands for wonderful and delightful which is exactly what our puppies are on this food.
by bertamae on 12/09/2013
Even though this product is more expensive than what was used before, the benefits to my pet are well worth the extra cost.
by sugar72 on 12/07/2013
the product helped our dog lose the weight he needed to lose in a timely manner, giving him new life.he likes the taste and is doing well.
by champapoo27 on 11/11/2013
I would recommend this product to help dogs with their individual problems.
by Rich on 11/04/2013
We have two Toy Fox Terriers. Both our girls love the flavor of the food. They eat their food like their having steak. Most important they just don't know they are eating something that is going to help them maintain their weight and be healthy. We trust the Hill's name. We must because we trust them with the two most important things in our lives. Nipsey & Belle our Toy Fox Terriers.
by mrtoad4353 on 10/23/2013
When it's mealtime, my two dogs eagerly head for the kitchen and dance around while I fix their bowls. I mix the dry food with the equivalent canned food because one dog is old and has four teeth missing. The canned food softens the dry enough so he can eat it easily.
by kfh12 on 10/23/2013
so thankful for this product just wish smaller bites were available
by venuslee on 10/21/2013
I had a slightly overweight dog that had an issue with Struvite cyrstals. I called the Hills Technical Support line and was told that W/D would be the food of choice. I have kept my dog on the W/D since she really likes it and she maintains her weight loss very well on it. I even have another dog in the house that also eats the W/D because she preferred it to her Science Diet food.
by DogsRMyThing on 10/07/2013
The product W-D is working great for my dog. Noticable change after the first week of using product. Her coat is shining again. However there is two items would like to see more of because of the cost. How about some coupons in the store or available on line to print and use? Thanks for this review

by twin1 on 09/21/2013
My Weimaraner has issues with her stomach. This is the only food I have found that helps her to be healthy and not have diarrhea. It costs a little more but it is worth it. Thank you.
by thickman08 on 09/18/2013
w/d has helped Odin tremendously. He has gastrointestinal issues. He no longer struggles/has accidents in the house. He doesn't seem to be in discomfort while going. He has never hesitated eating it and has maintained his weight, which was an big concern. Wish it was a little cheaper.
by AwesomeOdin on 09/16/2013
The W/D Prescription Diet product helped my girl tremendously. A few years ago I tried a New Grain Free dog food, the product caused continual bowel movements. I took my girl to the Vet and they recommended the W/D product for her and the diarrhea stopped within couple of days (2-3). The only thing is, I now have to mix her regular food with the W/D product in order for her to not have those too soft and continual bowel movements every feeding (that I'm not sure if I understand).
by Sashpash on 09/14/2013
The food is a bit expensive, but it is what I have to do in order to keep my dog healthy.

My dog has been on this food for two years. Her stools are firm and small. She has had no stomach distress since switching to W/D.No problems on walks - can guarantee a stool within the first 10 minutes! Best thing is she loves the taste - I keep thinking she'll be bored with the same thing over and over but she isn't!
by Maggiemae on 09/07/2013
My Lab has been eating w/d for over two years. Our vet prescribed it as a preventative diet since she was prone to bladder stones. She loves the food and has not had any urinary issues since being prescribed this food. It is expensive but well worth it for my canine daughter.
by Labradormom on 09/05/2013
again it should be available to the general public.

We have been using WD for 3 years now and this product has been the main reason we have been able to keep Lucy's condition under control.
by cobki209 on 08/18/2013
since there are writing guidelines the only thing I can say is that my dogs like the taste
by MisterTanner on 08/13/2013
My cocker spaniel has been eating this food for most of her life... she has always been prone to intestinal issues, and the extra fiber in this formula works well for her...

W/D has help my dog tremendously. He used to vomit after eating if he drank water. My vet put him on W/D and his vomiting stopped. I would recommend this product for digestive issues. I do wish it was not so expensive. I am feeding an Old English Sheepdog and the food bill adds up. He is worth it!!
by Joel22 on 08/11/2013
My 3 lb yorkie had digestive issues and was throwing up a lot. After several visits to the vet, his food was changed to WD low digestive and we have not had any problems. He has been on it for 2 yr. I also switched my 8 lb rat terrier to this food to help with his weight and he has done great.
by harley12 on 08/10/2013
One of my dogs has some digestion problems, and this prescription dog food has been just the right diet to keep her happy and healthy.
by Gram22 on 08/07/2013
My 3 year old Brussels Griffon/Cairn Terrier mix has been on the w/d for over two years now. He was put on this food for the high fiber content. He is unable to express his glands naturally; on his old food his glands would fill up within a week of being expressed. Obviously, this was a big problem! His vet suggested the w/d and it has worked wonders! After switching him over his problem completely reveresed. Instead of expensive surgery, or who knows what, all I need to do is feed him the w/d. I couldn't be more pleased. I was paying a similar price for his old food so price isn't a problem for me. My dog is the opposite of food moivated so he isn't big on the taste. We add a little cottage cheese or canned w/d to entice him.
by Christine on 07/23/2013
My Doberman Alex has Wooblers, it's a spinal cord compression. He is unable to run and play like a normal dog due to his condition. With the lack of exercise we were unable to keep his weight under control. We started using your WD Prescription dog food over a year ago.. Alex has been able to maintain a health weight, which is very important when trying to stop his disease from progressing. Alex and I, thank you for making such a wonderful product.
by Dobermangirl1 on 07/04/2013
My Labrador is now 8 years old. This is the first dog food that has not caused any GI upset, and at this point he has been on it for a year. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Also, he loves the taste.

We were told by our Vet to switch to WD RX Hills dry dog food. My Lab Jake was getting to heavey. He loves it and it help keep his weight down. Thanks Hill's for such great products.

this helped my dog's gastrointestinal problems and completely cleared up the problems he was having. He likes the food alot also.
by Oscar on 06/29/2013
Started my Sheltie on this diet due to his slower than expected weight loss. Transition was a breeze - no upset belly and he loved the food. After 3 weeks he has lost 2 pounds so we are on a great start to reaching his goal. This diet smells great too and it is a smaller kibble which he prefers.
by sablesheltie on 06/29/2013
Both our Toy Fox Terriers eat the W/D dry food. It helps them maintain their weight while also providing the proper nutrients for the active life style of the breed. They both love the food. We put it down and they think they are eating a bowl of ice cream instead of a healthy nutritious meal. Thank you Hill's for covering all the bases.
by mrtoad43 on 06/29/2013
Since putting my miniature schnauzer on this type of food, she has regained her puppy stature. She has more energy, more playful and is one happy dog. The vet said might have trouble transitioning because of taste. Let me tell you !!!! She inhaled it. She loved it better than anything we ever gave her. Very pleased with this food. I may pay a little more, but I know I am feeding my dog food that is good for her in many ways. Thanks Hills ! you gave me my happy, vibrant and energetic doggie back !
by Lms923 on 06/29/2013
My dog Marley was over weight by about 15lbs so my vet prescribed the w/d formula. Marley has not only lost the weight but also kept it off, which in turn has helped with his seizures (my vet also believes that his weight played a roll in how often he was having them). So now with W/D and his meds Marley is living a much more comfortable life!
