My little guy Rex is a foodie. Rex was getting pretty big and I needed to get him at a healthier weight. I started him on this food in September. Between this food and daily walks Rex has lost weight and is more mobile!

Why have you changed the formula? My dog has eaten your product for l0+ years. This last bag he is refusing to eat. Vet says you have reformulated and also changed the size of the pellet (smaller). Friend had some of your previous formula (her dog had passed) which I have been mixing in trying to get him to eat. But I don't think I will be able to continue on this product.

Our dog, Charlie, loves food and his Hills R/D is no exception. That's why he's on the R/D.....because he love to eat....hence the low calorie food! It smells good too so I can see why he's attracted to it!

For the past 3 years I have gave this to her and she's keep the weight down and the Veterinarian says she looks really fit. Everyone asks what I feed her because her coat is really good soft and shiney. People dont believe that she is 5 years old when they see her. Our dog has been on science diet r/d wet and dry for nearly 7 years now. It was prescribed to him because he is not able to properly digest any other foods. For this, it has worked very well. I would like to see the pricing less or more competitive.

Love this product. I have several little dogs some with weight issues and i can feel good about feeding this to them all to keep their weight in check. They eat every bite down. The most dramatic weight loss I had with one of my dogs is that he went from 20 lbs to 14 and has added years to his life and so much more energy! He used to not be able to walk at all now he runs ! I have a (now 11 year old) Peek-A-Poo was weighed 11.4lb back in April of this year. Her back knee caps were dislocating when she ran or even walked. She needed to have surgery on both knees ($2,000 ea.) or lose weight They wanted her down to 8lbs. They recommended Hills RD dry dog food. 1/4 cup in the morning and 1/8 cup in the evening and to cut down on treats. She is now 8.8lbs and losing, treats have been cut back and her knees are fine. Not a single problem now. Boy can she run!

Our Vet recommended the Low Calorie food for our aging cocker spaniel and she loves it. She lost 12 lbs during the year. She is 13 years old and used to weigh 45 lbs, but after we put her on prescription low calorie, she now weighs 33 lbs and is full of energy. We love it and purchase it from our Vet.

When I took my dog in to the Vets I found out he was really over weight. I took a sample of the Prescription r/d weight loss food home and my dog really liked it. I have continued to feed him the food and he is losing weight very well. I had gotten in to a bad habit of feeding him people food as well as his own food, since I have corrected the bad habits he is losing weight and is feeling a lot better! He is enjoying our walks again and playing with his cat buddy again. I will continue to purchase this dog food for him. I do appreciate the coupons and I make sure to use them!! Thank you!!

Although a somewhat expensive product, this dry dog food accomplishes the goal of weight reduction while keeping dog satisfied that they have a full stomach. For a real "chow hound" (this dog happens to be a Chow), it is an essential part of keeping her healthy.

I give this to my Doxie and he loves it. I also give him the wet food as well with his evening feeding I take a teaspoon of wet food and mix into his dry ( removing some of the dry to make up for the wet) He loves this food. I am seeing an improvement in his weight. I will check his weight for sure.

My min pincher has been on this for over two years now. She has lost six pounds was 19 lbs now 13 lbs. I also give her some of the wet diet can food. She is losing slowly and very healthy. If I could get my husband to quit the treats I'm sure she would have lost more. She should be 10 lbs. She was a rescue dog.

My husband caused my dog to become overweight by feeding too much human and pet food, after he passed away, I tried several different foods to try to help her loose weight and nothing worked. Since she has been on the Hill Science diet prescription metabolic dogfood, her weight loss has been slow but steady. Which I find amazing because of her knee injury and surgery she has had limited mobility, but still is loosing weight. This is a before photo of Millie at her top weight of 97lbs. She is now at 75lbs but still has a ways to go.

My 5 y/o Italian Greyhound was carrying extra weight and the Vet recommended I try Metabolic. I was afraid the dog would refuse to eat it but, to my surprise she gobbles it up twice a day and gets excited just hearing the bag open! She's lost half of the excess weight in just months and still going. My dog does not enjoy being outdoors - zooms out to potty then zooms right back inside, even on beautiful days - so we needed help with a restrictive diet since exercise isn't on her agenda. Metabolic is great! Pricey, but great... 1/2 C. twice a day has done her wonders. I will continue to buy this product.

I had adopted three Rescue Boxers- since my now 9 year old was a little oveweight ( 120 pounds- but he is a very large dog) my vets put him on the R/D diet food - which he "passed" swiftly . Three years ago we took in a then 14 year old boxer boy- he was not doing well and nobody would adopt him, so, we did. He like most boxers, had artheritis and it was not easy for him to balance and "pass" the food , so, I put him on my other dogs r/d food and it was great- he was never constipated and had no problems balancing- we just lost him right before Christmas at the age of 17 !!

I really like the Prescription Diet Dog food. Our boxer has a lot of stomach issues so it was hard to find a food that wouldnt make her sick. We stuck with a brand that we thought was organic and good for her but actually had loads of calories and ended up making her gain a lot of weight. She has only been on Prescription Diet for 3 weeks and has already lost 4 pounds and she enjoys it and it doesnt make her sick!

My dog's weight is down, however I feel this food is pretty expensive. I do not know how the taste is my dog eats it but she eats some very weird things and seems to like them also.I find that it has an offensive smell to me, but overall am happy with it. I would like it better if I could print a coupon every time that I bought the food.

My dog is a family member. He is 14 years old (human years). Moustache evens sneezes like a human. He has a thyroid condition and other dog food brands helped him to gain weight which he did not need to do. He now thrives since his vet placed him on Hill's Prescription Diet for weight loss. My dog has been put on the R/D diet food for weight loss. So I have to give him a certain amount of food a day to help with weight loss. Well with 3 others at home they all want to eat his food and look forward to it as a "treat". Which when they do this makes him what to "show off" and eat his food in front of them as if to say this is mine and you can't have it. Just like true children!!!

Our 8 year old Golden Retriever was on RD for about three years and was always at the right weight. We then tried a cheaper brand dog food and he ballooned in weight and was not very active. We then switched him back about 9 months ago and he is back down to the right weight and keeps up with our 2 year old Australian Shepard. We would recommend this for any dog.

I have been buying this product for my little black pug since he was 3 years old. He is now 12 years old. Oliver (my pug) was 23 lbs when I got him and he went down to 15 lbs using only R/D prescription diet. He now weighs 18 lbs cause we give him too much table food. It is expensive, but a great product if you stick to the diet of this food only to achieve weight loss.

Our dachshund loves the flavor of this food! We tried other foods prior to the vet recommending this one and had no luck. The r/d food has worked well for him, in about a years time he has lost almost 10 lbs. He waits patiently at his dish when it's meal time! It's amazing what a difference this food has done for him! My golden retriever was around 25 pounds overweight when I first purchased this dogfood. Through my vet I restricted his calories while increasing his activity and his weight was off within around 18 months. I kept him on this food for around 5 years before switching to non-prescription light dogfood from Hill's. He enjoyed it and it worked. Not much else to say about it other than buying it from the vet can be inconvenient and it's more expensive than other foods at your local store.

I have three dogs, 2 of which are plump and one who is trim...I used to feed them different food but my trim dog is very picky...I was always trying a new food since she would stop eating it after a week...Then I noticed she would steal her pack mates' food #she gets what she wants since she is the alpha dog#...So now my plump dogs and my trim dog all eat the W/D Prescription Diet food. The plump dogs are losing weight #they would lose more if other family members would stop feeding them "snacks"# and my trim dog NEVER refuses to eat this food so it must taste good!!!

My little dog has been chubby her entire life. This dog food allows her to lose weight without being hungry. In fact, she is happier now than she was on regular dog food, because she feels full all day long. She really likes the taste of this food. She does have more frequent bowel movements from the increased fiber, but she looks and feels great. She will soon transition to the weight maintenance food, as she is steadily losing weight now.
