My little doggie cannot eat regular doggie food, he keeps throwing up after eating it. My vet. recommended this product and now I have a happy doggie. The throwing up has stopped and everything is good!

I bought a Hill's Prescription diet product labeled "Metabolic" with chicken flavoring. Our dog has been eating this for a very long time and has never had a problem. But now there was a huge mold spot on the top of the can. The packaging was intact, the top of the food was moldy

We have a 16 year old Brittany, and she was having trouble digesting her food, having runny bowel movements, vomiting, etc.. Our Vet prescribed this and its all she eats exclusively now and it has worked. She certainly seemed to love it . Its a little pricey, but it was worth it to have her feeling better again. We tried to go back to a less expensive brand that appeared to be similar, and quickly went back to this as her problems returned on the other food.

Our 6 year old dachshund had to have back surgery. She was placed on steroids which caused to gain weight. Our veterinarian recommended this brand of food. Both my dog's stoole is now solid (easy to pick up). I need to add small bits of roasted chicken (no skin) to get them to eat the stew. Guess they aren't crazy with the taste. I like the product, but very expensive. As long as the are doing better I will continue to buy the W/D cans of stew. Just wish it was't so expensive.

Very happy with this product which when combined with the Metablolic dry food, Cleopatra has lost a pound. She likes both which makes it easy for me. The only negative, which I think Hills needs to know, is that the pull off cover on the canned wet food doesn't work. That little tab breaks off, and I have had to use a can opener to open it. Perhaps something could be done to make it easier to open. Thanks.

My 4 year's shih tzu is 2 pounds overweight . She has been on metabolic diet for 4 months, she loves the food but didn't loose any weight so far. I am getting really frustrated about it. As for exercise, I take her for a walk everyday and for treats i give her one metabolic biscuit a day or a piece of apple and her food is measured every time. I am very disappointed after reading all the reviews where people say their dog lost weight in the first 2 months. what they do differently?

Our dog has been on this food for about 9 years. She is 12 now. We had a hard time trying to find something she liked and then this was prescribed to help with her weight. She is a dachshund and weight maintenance is important. It also keeps her very regular. I would recommend this to any dog owner. We mix it with the same dry dog food product.

We have an older Border Collie mix who needed to lose some extra pounds in order to play the way she's used to. Our vet suggested Hills, and of course took her advice. Immediately, we saw results. And...our dog has taken to it really well. We give a mix of dry and wet. I think mixing with dry helps her to feel more full. Also, rather than buy separate treats, we use a small handful of her planned dry food as treats. That way she's not getting any additional calories. It works. Once in a while we'll give her the vegetable beef stew. When she realizes what she's eating, she looks up at me as if to say "Wow...this is good". As long as we follow the vets advice with the Hills, we continue to see weight loss and our fur baby is healthy and active as ever. Thanks.

I have a Maltipoo and she's about 2 pounds overweight, which is a lot for a toy breed. My Vet recommended Hills Metabolic for her, I purchased the dry food, but found the bites to big for her. I wrote to Hills diet to see if it's available in small bites and unfortunately it's not! So I purchased the stewed and she LOVES it! Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic, weight management. Works great, I have a Chihuahua mix he weight 13 lbs. has been on the metabolic diet for just about 2 months and he looks great. I was amazed he runs better, goes up and stairs better, oh and the most important thing of all he can sit on his butt. Yes, I would recommend this dog food.

Some of my dogs are a little on the chubby side and after a recent trip to the vet she suggested the metabolic diet. I have a lot of dogs so it's easier if I can feed them all the same diet. This will help the chubby ones lose and the others maintain. Well, I tried all 3 flavors of the canned metabolic including the chicken and tuna with vegetable and they go nuts for all of them! I've never had them all like a diet food so much!! Of course I wish the cans were a little less expensive but at lease you offer coupons to help with the cost. Thank you Hills! My dogs have had great results on the wet and dry metabolic. I wish the kibble on the metabolic dry was smaller as my dogs are small. They do eat both products and my one male doxie who is not active lost 2 pounds in one month and my female doxie lost 1.5 pounds in the same time frame. I have told everyone I know who has dogs how great it is. My only real complaint is how expensive the wet food is and that may prohibit me from keeping my dogs on it for as long as they may need it to achieve their weight loss goal.. Also the metabolic treats my dogs also love them!!

I have four Pugs ranging from 8-10 years old, All of them were overweight and my heaviest was 47 lbs. I have had them on 1/2 can wet plus 1 cup dry every evening and 1 biscuit every morning. No more pizza crust while watching football. It was hard at first because I have always shared my food with them and they looked at me with sweet eyes just asking for a morsel. I no longer free fed them and they like their nightly feeding in separate dishes. I believe in the dog food and also putting them on a restrictive (no pizza, chips) diet has helped them drop 3 pounds each in 2 1/2 months. I Highly recommend this product I like all wish it was a little cheaper.

The product is susceptible to heat and cold and if the product has not been handled properly from manufacture to sale, the product has a crumbly mixture which my dogs (I have three that are on the metabolic wet food) will not eat............certainly I can return the product for a refund but this is a big inconvience if the seller has the same lot,, etc........I have to try another seller.

Our 8.5 year old Bichon had previously been a somewhat finicky eater and would turn up her nose and walk away from the taste of many dog foods. Even though we had our doubts that she would even try the Metabolic, she sniffed it and immediately took to the taste and has been eating the wet, dry, and treats with gusto! The food is so convenient and easy to serve. The best part is that she has already lost 2.5 pounds. The cost of the food is a little more expensive than some other brands, but when you consider the quality and the health benefits it supplies by adding more healthful years to your beloved family member's life, we feel it is worth it!

Our dog is a rescue found in a parking lot that someone through out. He was scared and crawled under a car that backed over his hind leg and it was broken. Some people found him and brought him to us, we took him to the vet to be operated on. His leg healed the wrong and he now limps but he gets around great. My five year old neutered chihuahua mix, Milo, was slowly but surely gaining weight, eating a high quality organic, canned dog food diet. He really looked pudgy and bulged out of his harness. I decreased the quantity of food, and added an extra walk, but he did not lose weight. The vet was becoming concerned and recommended Hills Metabolic Weight Loss diet. It took a week or so to wean Milo onto it, but he ate it heartily. After three months on Metabolic, he has lost one and a half pounds, and is well on the way to his ideal weight. I have had both my dogs on this food for a little over 4 weeks and they have both lost 3 pounds each - which was very much needed (Yorkie & Rat Terrier). I am working with my pets vet to make sure they are healthy so no worries. Since starting my pets on the prescription diet food, I have seen more energy in both of them and my one that snores and sheds a lot has quit snoring and very limited shedding now. I do mix the wet with the dry prescription diet and I follow the measurements to the "t" on what is needed for weight loss. They will both be on this food about another 2 months and then move on to the maintenance diet. I should have done this earlier for my pets. Its very cost effective and my pets really like the food.

I wish the price was lower but when it comes to our dogs health it's definitely the right stuff. They've lost weight and are acting like puppies again. In just 3 months Luigi is down to his correct weight. WHY CAN"T THEY MAKE THIS FOR HUMANS? My dog has been on the Metabolic diet for almost 2 months now. She's lost 3 pounds which they tell me is right on target, we are supposed to do this for 6 months(she needs to lose 20 pounds) She is using the dry, wet and treats. She is hungry all the time which is odd because this is supposed to make her feel full. She's gone from waking me at 6:00 am every morning for her can of food to 4:30 am and she's constantly begging for more food. She has never done this before. Getting the food out of the can, it's like sawdust. I'm not happy with it. If I could feed her a different can brand and stay with the dry I would. We go in for another weight check in a few weeks, as long as she continues to lose the weight, I will stick with this for the 6 months but after that, we are done. I feel as though I am making her suffer. 1 can, 1 1/2 cup and 2 small treats a day just does not seem like enough food to me for a 1 year old dog. I spread out the feedings during the day and give her the last 1/2 cup before bedtime and she is still waking me at 4:30 for breakfast.

Beagles love to eat and eat and our little lady was very overweight. Although she had not developed any serious health problems, she probably would have over time and more weight gain. Our vet took measurements and gave us a plan using Science Diet Metabolic food. We use a combination of wet, dry, and treats. It works. She is right on schedule with her weight loss plan thanks to this schedule. it is rather expensive but worth the cost for a healthy pet.

My dog Patch was put on this product to lose weight. I thought I would have problem getting him to eat it as he is a picky eater. Patch eats this without problems. I am very happy with the results so far he has lose 2lbs. After being on it for 2 weeks Patch has had a lot more energy and wants to play a lot more now.

Our 7year old lab is very over weight. I will not share the weight as not to embarrass him. His meal is now the metabolic can, dry & treats. Before he ate another brand of dry food & table food. My two Pomeranians (Female 13 years) (Male 9 years) have been eating Prescription Diet RD for about 5 years. They have been given Canned RD in the mornings, and Dry RD in the evenings. Two weeks ago when I went to my Vet for dog food, I was advised that RD is no longer available but has been replaced by Metabolic for weight loss and maintenance. I was very concerned because both dogs are very sensitive to changes in their diet. Seemingly having no other choice I purchased the Metabolic (both dry and canned). I am still amazed at their response to this change. They both love the canned food and get really excited at mealtimes. More importantly, neither dog has had any negative effects from the change relative to their droppings. I am pleasantly surprised and pleased by this change from Hills. My dogs act like they are being fed filet mignon. By the way, they like both the dry food as well as the canned, and treats. Thanks Hills
