My senior dog who is on Rx food is also only able to have Rx treats. He gobbled them up and is excited when itโs time for his treats.
by Sharon on 10/05/2023
My dog is on a restricted diet and these treats are the only ones he can have. He gobbled them up and loves getting them
by Sharon on 08/14/2023
My dog has been on Hills low fat diet food for around 7 years due to her condition. She cannot eat anything else but when the doctor prescribed the snacks, she waits for that time of the day to have them, she harasses/spies on me every night so I can give her doggie Candie, I think she dreams of these snacks. She is 16 years old poodle mix

There are many posts about the hardness of the treats and need a size for small and older dogs. I am glad I am not the only one having the issue. There needs to be a smaller softer hypotreat. This is the last bag I will purchase. I will make them at home.

My dog loves Hypo Treats, but they keep getting smaller in size and bigger in price. When are these changes going to end? I'm being forced to change treats for her.
by Janie on 06/12/2023
Essential for her diet and she loves them
by Ira on 04/18/2023
I just opened a new bag and the treats are more than 50% lighter in weight and brittle. The new change to the Hypo treats has reduced the density of these treats. Do you think we don't notice? It's bad enough when bags get smaller And the prices keep going up. But now, I'm paying more for what -- AiR?? Really? What am I buying, bread crumbs and bouillon?? Seriously One paycheck every month goes to buying medicine and prescription food for my 1 dog - 1 dog that's correct. That doesn't include vet bills. Where does it end? I forgot - by the new corporate rules - at my checkbook. BTW I have buying Hills Science products now for more than 20 years. I liked your products, all of my animals thrived on Hills. Where's the Loyalty? Where?
by AT WITS END on 04/15/2023
Finally I found a place where I can buy my dogs treats, I loved the service and they have it in stock! So happy with this company.
by Viviana on 03/19/2023
My senior 15 yr old doggo Truffle absolutely loves these treats. Has been on them for last 5 yr. Loves them. But this batch is just jaw breakers. I couldn't break them by my hand. I hammered it on the wooden floor with my fist and it won't break. Please maintain consistent quality. We are humidifying them to soften them. You can do better...Hills. Thank You
by Truffle's Father on 02/25/2023
When you can find this item it's great, but it's always out if stock.
by Marsha on 02/18/2023
He loves these treats, but recently I had to re-order and it me forever to find them. I ordered through Chewy but the picture of the dog is different on the package and the treats seem to be lighter in texture - its not the same. My dog loves the ones I had before I purchased these. Old package was 10900 PT318434 Hypo Treats Derm Defense. Thank you
by Husky Mom on 02/10/2023
Have you recently changed the ZD treat formula our combined it with another treat? My dog used to love it and now she won't touch it. I have a case I just oudered!
by Katk00 on 02/04/2023
Yeah!, this one is AVAILABLE now (keep it that way) and bit thinner and less hard. These are the ONLY treats our 15 year old Springer Truffle likes! You listened to all our inputs. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
by Truffle's Father on 01/16/2023
I see some folks complaining that these treats are too hard with the latest recipe. This is exactly what my pup loves about them! With her colitis, there are very few products she can eat and these are the her favourite. We are eagerly awaiting the day when Hills can get them back in to production.
by Canuck doodle on 01/03/2023
Dog has loved it for last 5 years. Our geriatric dog does not eat a lot of foods. This one he enjoys a lot and asks for it too. How can we DEPEND ON YOU for this PRODUCT? Any RECOMMENDATIONS or ALTERNATES?
by Truffle's Father on 12/30/2022
My dog was recently diagnosed with allergies and these are the only hypo treats she'll eat. She loves them, especially how crunchy they are. My biggest issue is they are very frequently out of stock. Is there a reason that is the case?
by Mia on 12/28/2022
Can't find them anywhere always back ordered or out of stock
by Bailey on 12/01/2022
My dog has allergies, and he is on a very restricted diet of hydrolyzed protein for his allergies. Until now, I have had to use his food for treats because I couldn't find any treats made with hydrolized protein. I discovered these Hills HYPO treats a few weeks ago at our vet's-- and Sparky has transformed into the world's most trainable dog: he will do anything for a Hypo treat. I tried to get more today and found out that every single PetSmart, PetCo, Chewy's, etc etc in the Washington DC area is out of these treats. One store said they had heard a rumor that Hills is thinking of discontinuing their HYPO treats. Say it ain't so, Hills!
by kgc on 11/29/2022
Dog loves these treats. Great on her digestive system. My only problem is they NEVER seem to be in stock. Ramp up production already!
by johnnypaz on 08/07/2022
Our dogs love the treats yet we have to use a hammer to break them into small enough pieces for our dogs to consume. This can resulting in treats can have sharp edges. Not ideal when we are using them training. Just one extra step after having to wrestle with obtaining a prescription, finding a store that has it in stock and getting approval. Then there is the expense. What a frustrating hassle. Not even convinced the expensive prescription food / treats even work as promised. Hill's - How about a soft treat for the z/d?
by AtomicPlus on 07/22/2022
This is the only treat that my vet wants my sensitive stomach dog to have. He loves them!!
by Karen the husky lover on 07/16/2022
My dog has been put on Food Sensitivities Hypo Treats and I haven't been able to secure a bag either through my Vet or the Internet.
by Kelvinator on 06/15/2022
Great size, lots of crunch and they love them
by Dln on 06/13/2022
This product has been out of stock globally for months. This is the only treat on the market that certain dogs can have due to food sensitivities. Your customers have good dogs who deserve treats, but you've left them holding the bag for months on end. Shame on Hill's for this kerfuffle. I think your loyal customers deserve an explanation.
by Frank on 03/04/2022
My dog loves these treats.
by Annie on 09/10/2021
Way too hard for my Molly, miniature Poodle. She loves them but I need to break them up & can't. I'm disabled & must use a meat tenderizer tool too split them up. Bag is too difficult to OP EN & CLOSE
by Molly on 08/27/2021
Started giving the Hypo biscuits to my dog as a hide & go seek treat after his walks during spring 2020. At the start of 2021, we noticed the biscuits were harder and the texture was different. My dog refuses to eat them. Would have rated this 5 star with the way the cookies were in 2020.
by Sibot's mom on 08/08/2021
My dog really like the treats an it doesn't upset her stomach
by Sharon on 05/26/2021
Please make something that is smaller & softer for small breeds! My Chihuahua loves treats & really did try to eat these, but they are too big & too hard for her & that is why I can only give this product one star. I can't rate the quality cause she can't even eat them.
by Chihuahua owner on 11/08/2019
My dog is small and these treats are large. I need to give him half but they are near impossible to break in half. If you are successful they break with very sharp edges. I literally have to put them on the ground and use a hammer which obviously leaves lots of tiny pieces. It's truly ridiculous. I am going to ask the vet if there is any other alternative.
by Tripp on 07/21/2019
I used to be able to break the treats into small pieces but now they are hard as rocks and my dog has a difficult time chewing them. Old formula was better Science Diet!!!!
by Buffy on 01/07/2019
I have been buying these for 13 years and my Yorkie used to go crazy over these treats! With the new recipe change, she could care less about them. She doesn't have much time left and it breaks my heart that I can't give her the treats that she loves. It wasn't broken, you didn't need to fix it. Done buying these.
by Zana on 05/11/2018
Iam so disappointed in this new stuff. Its a darker color and very hard. Please go back to older product. I just returned 4 bags of this new stuff.
by Bark Ave on 04/24/2018
These dog treats used to be very good for my dogs they were able to crack them with their teeth on their own I could break them in half with my hands now they are as hard as a rock and dark dark brown my dogs love these treats but now they cannot even chew them there either cooking them too long or they added something in that is not good very sad because my dogs used to love these .

My 12 year old pug Camo, who requires an I/D food diet, loves his Dietary Prescription Hypo Treats! Unfortunately he is missing many of his teeth and as a result it is very difficult for him to totally enjoy the treat experience. I just wish there was a softer (senior) version of these prescription treats, similar to what Hills has available in their standard product like. Senior dogs have to enjoy eating too..... :)
by Camoman on 03/15/2018
Pkg size is smaller quantity is smaller treats are harder and price increased
by SuSu on 02/22/2018
Need for Hill's to go back to most recent recipe. Treats are way too hard now and will have to move to another product if nothing changes. Was very satisfied before. Not sure if it's new ingredients, longer cooking time, or both.
by Zeke's dad on 12/18/2017
treats apper to be alot harder. very difficult to break as in the past. My dog (Miley) is 9 years old and I have concerns about teeth damage. Miley would eat the complete bag at one time if she got a chance.
by Joe1946 on 10/28/2017
So happy to have found a treat that won't make my dog sick whenever he does a good thing. He loves them and they're good for him! Thank you so much for developing such a wonderful product.
by Jfleong79 on 02/07/2017
We have a Westie with a sensitive stomach. Our vet recommended this treat at our last visit. We gave her one as soon as we got home and she gobbled it up! Her old treats were then tossed. This is the only treat that will be in her treat jar.
by StonesFan on 09/14/2016
My Annabelle loves these treats! These are the only treats she can eat but she thinks they are awesome. She is treat motivated and will do anything for her Hills Hypo-treats! Thanks Hills for making a tasty treat for my baby.
by Tamarenee on 07/29/2016
Over a year ago we almost lost Mitzi, our Pomeranian when her liver and pancreas were in bad shape from her diet. The vet said a very strict diet was her only hope. This diet was Hill's and then we found the prescription diet hypo treats, and she loves them and I can make her happy without fear of risking her health.
by Marcelle on 06/30/2016
I have a dog with a very sensitive stomach these where great can eat them without a problem!
by 3dobeAndadutch on 06/08/2016
Pet enjoys these treats as a reward, in moderation.
by walterpoodle on 12/14/2015
My dog (11 yr old black Labrador) is extremely finicky so if eats these treats, they must be great!
by BarbaraInIndy on 09/21/2015
My veterinarian has the Hypo-Treats on his bills clerk's desk. The clerk actually came from behind her counter and gave our puppy a treat for being so good. The pup sat at attention and waited for more; which she promptly attended to his demands. I bought a bag and bribe him now to sit, jump, rollover, stay, speak, sing, bark, lay down, and come....All at the age of three months. The best thing about the "treat", it is GOOD for my new little family member!
by damwife on 07/11/2015
Bob our Black Lab is allergic to everything! He was put on a Hill's Prescription Diet food which improved his skin and itching. He was not able to have treats until we discovered Hill's Prescription Diet Hypo-Treats. He loves them!
by rperrin on 07/16/2014
My GSP loves these treats. My Jack Russells also want them as well!
by Carol2014 on 06/22/2014
Before Hills Science came out with this product, we were taking their canned z/d food and spooning it onto baking sheets and baking to make our own dog treats. I can't express how thankful I am that I no longer have to spend my time and electricity on making dog treats! These are soooooo convenient and in a nice resealable bag! My dog loves the flavor! Since we give her treats after her meal, she will now sit by the cupboard until she gets her treat!
by ktsark on 05/24/2014
You want to treat your dog with a good crunchy biscuit. Having one available that is compatible with a 'hypo-allergenic' diet is fabulous!
by HalfFullGirl on 05/24/2014
My dog's love these treats. They have been eating the same treat for about 7 or 8 years and still love it..
by bubby on 05/05/2014
Peanut has a very sensitive stomach and this is the only treat that she can have or we end up at the emergency room. Since there 12 other babies in the house these are the only treats they get also. Everyone including the two that have no teeth love these. All I have to do is pick up the bag and everyone is begging.
by bamagal11 on 03/29/2014
My dog loves these so much I had to quit buying them because she drives me crazy when she knows I have treats and won't leave me alone.
by esb75 on 03/06/2014
My giant baby pitbull that needs prescription dog f good loves them.
by melonhead on 01/06/2014
An excellent product and the only treat I give my dog with digestive issues.
by Maureen1130 on 12/11/2013
I believe these treats have been healthier for my dogs than the brands available at the grocery store.
