Long story short, Monster was afflicted with crystals for years. When he wound up in the ER completely blocked with 3 kinds of crystals, a raging UTI and clots in his kidneys, I started him on Hill's C/D. 5 weeks after we started him on the CD, I took him in for a checkup. The vet called me (waiting in car...thanks Covid) and asked if this was another of my many cats instead of Monster, because this cat had absolutely NO crystals, NO UTI and only one teeny tiny blood clot left in his kidneys. She couldn't believe it! So thrilled to have my Monster still alive, healthy and happy!

Our cat has a thick bladder. He takes shots and eats this. He is great. He is a picky eater and loves this food. The reason for 3 stars is the price and just donโt understand why you need a prescription.

After my cat had a urinary blockage, my vet suggested a urinary care cat food. I feed it to my 3 cats even though only one had the blockage. They all love it and there have been no urinary issues since. Great product.

I have two cats that had been on a food from this brand so I was hoping the switch wouldn't come as a surprised. But my kitties have never been picky. One developed a nasty urinary problem in September and it was suggested I change to this food. So it's almost 3 full months later and the problem hasn't returned so it appears to be working.

My cat was diagnosed with a urinary tract issue just before summertime of 2020. After forcing him to take medicine to help with the pain (which neither he nor I enjoyed doing to him), and multiple trips to my vet to get the diagnosis determined, several of which were after hours (find yourself a vet that truly cares and will meet you at their office even after they close to help you with your pet, folks), they turned me on to this food as a possible way to help my cat. My cat started on the wet food becuase he wouldn't eat the dry, but then he stopped eating the wet and we changed to this dry food. He's been eating this food in wet or dry form for over 6 months, and he's had no recurrances at all of his issue. The packaging says it lowers recurrance rate of most common urinary signs by 89%, and I have no trouble at all believing that. I've had a happy, healthy, playful cat again because of this food, and although it looks like I'm going to be feeding him this for the rest of his life, that's totally worth it to me. He loves this food, and I love that it works so well for him.

This product was recommended by our family Veterinarian because our cat suffered re-occurring bladder infections. Since putting our cat on the C/D in 2015, she has yet to have a bladder infection.

My cat will not eat Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Urinary Care Dry Cat Food in the chicken flavor variety but loves the Ocean Fish version. The problem is, the Ocean Fish variety is not offered in the more economical 17.6 lb. bags. I end up paying significantly more per ounce having to purchase several smaller bags of the Ocean Fish flavor. I'm not certain why Hill's doesn't provide the Ocean Fish flavor in larger size bags but they should begin doing so.

These are great products, we use both the wet and dry foods and Orion kitty is much more comfortable on his diet than without. Thank you for what you do! Kitty could use some treats that work with his C/D diet, any suggestions?

I have an older female with Struvite Crystals in her urine. Because I free feed all 3 of my cats, I needed to switch all of them over to C/d. The first day everybody ate it really well, the second day they didn't eat it as well, and the third day all 3 are objecting to eating it. I'm trying both canned and dry, which my cats are used to eating. I hope it gets better, I'm not sure what I'll feed them if they go on a hunger strike.

My cats really love it and the chicken as well. I have one of six cats that has to be on this diet but since dry food is out 24/7 all the cats have to eat the dry food and after being used to a big variety of flavors in our other brand/brands of dry food we were afraid they wouldn't eat it and it's smaller pieces as well which they don't like very much. All six of them are eating it just great even with only two flavors. They're still going through about 7-8 pounds of it every 2 weeks so they aren't showing any signs of not liking it. I'd say job well done to get all my cats to agree and really like just one food for their dry food.

The product does what it is supposed to do and keeps my kitty from experiencing those problems that brought him to needing a restricted diet. However, it includes ingredients that I don't want to ingest and also do not want my pets to have such as gluten and soy and other ingredients that, although included in many major food brands, are not necessarily in the best interest of overall health. I'd like to see Hill's Prescription food come out with a truly holistic, restricted diet product, that provides for the pet's genuine nutrition needs (in line with how cats and dogs actually digests food and absorb nutrients). I'm willing to pay more for a more natural product.

I have used Hills C/D for my cats for many years. Originally prescribed by my vet for my female cat who started having medical issues. Changing her food took care of that!!!! I since have lost her, but now have 2 more young cats and I have continued with the C/D due to many health benefits and healthy indoor cats. Their coats are shiny and soft, their weight is great, and I I said they are very happy and healthy. The coupons help a lot with cost, as I by an 8lb bag about every 6 weeks from my vet. Much worth the money either way you look at it. Would recommend.

One year ago my Joey had a $4,000 operation due to the crystals in his urinary tract from other cat foods. My vet recommended Hills CD. He & his brother have eaten it for one year & now I have a healthy fur baby. I would never buy any other brand.

My male Tabby has had problems with urinary tract issues since 2010 (FLUTD). He's had at least 3 trips to the Emergency Vet since 2010 and, at least, 4 trips per year to my regular Vet for frequent bouts of FLUTD. Since this newer formula's debut a year or so ago, my cat's urinary symptoms / issues have improved significantly! Amazing diet formula! A bit on the pricey side but, much cheaper than ER Vet visits!

My 2 year old cat has been on c/d, (and only c/d) for a little less then a year and is blocked again. This time his block is worse than the first time. I'm heartbroken that we have had to spend over a thousand dollars in vet bills and on food and we have no peace of mind that this will not happen again.

I like the new zipper on the bag, works better than the one that was last used. Changed the pictures on the bag, was hard to find "ocean fish" on the label, much smaller than before and my cat won't eat original so have to be careful with that. There really needs to be more flavors and a lower calorie version since my cat has to eat this for the rest of his life. Also glad the kibble seems to be a little larger. If the kibble is too small he swallows it whole, throws it up later so glad they're big enough for him to chew. Over all good for his condition and health, likes the taste of it.

My snow bengal got urinary crystals and this food corrected the issue in a snap. No more depressed kitty. All happy now. I just wish it wasnt so expensive. I cant be picky though bcuz it does the job its designed to do.

Seldom have I found a prescription food for my cat that he will eat willingly. There were no "getting used to it" problems. The first serving in his bowl went down quickly and has ever since. I very much recommend this Hill's dry, prescription diet food. It is a winner for me and for my cat.

My cats love the C/D dry food in both flavors, and it has truly helped their urinary function. However, the food is way too expensive and coupons are rarely available. Please, please think of the consumer and lower your prices -- we want to take care of our pets and give them the nutrition they need, but many can't because it's too costly.

I have tried several different cat foods and your cat food is the first that after eating he doesn't get sick. Usually within 5 minutes of eating the food wouldn't stay down. He has now been able to keep the food down and gain weight. He also is satisfied and loves the taste.

I switched Buddy to the Ocean Fish dry because he was gaining weight quickly on the Chicken dry. The ingredients show the same fat content, but corn and wheat gluten are not listed first as they are on the Chicken. Still, I must limit Buddy's intake of the dry, though he really likes it. Nice to have coupons for Hill's products online, but I wish that either the prices were lower, OR Hill's would come up with a non-prescription urinary line of products that would be offered OTC at pet stores. It would be slightly lower quality than the prescription, but greater quality than what's currently offered OTC for a more reasonable price. After 1 year on the Hill's after Buddy's urinary blockage, he remains problem-free, healthy, and loves the food.

I have 5 cats and multiple bladder infections. The veterinarian reccommended Hills Prescription Diets. I was terrified!!! I just knew my babies wouldn't eat it, and I would have to starve them into eating. Yeah!!!! I was sooo wrong. I didn't even have to "sneak" it in. However, they eat 4 bags a month and it's pretty costly. Yes, they are worth it. We haven't had a bladder infection yet (been on this food 2 months now). I hate that i was an uneducated momma and was just feeding them whatever was on sale. They are so much healthier, now.

Excellent product. Most clients think their cat will not eat it, esp the dry, but when we try here, the cats love it. The bring back if you don't like it and get refund feature really helps.

Our cat has been on Hill's prescription c/d for several years and has not had any further medical issues. He looks forward to each meal and never hesitates to clean his dish. The 8-pound bags of food never contain bits and pieces in the bottom. The most recent improvement is the velcro closure. It is easily opened and closed while providing a positive seal. My pet and I both salute Hill's for their outstanding product.

Earnie has be n on the c/d chicken flavor for years, to the point he hides sometimes. I gave him some to try and he eats every bite and wants more. Now I can switch between the two when he gets sick of one! Thank you he's always been PICKY, the older he gets the worse he is. Happy owner happy kitty!

Since my cat metabolizes Hill's much better and it's more filling, he eats less. Which means in the long run we actually are spending less on cat food than we were in the past.

This product has given added years to our cats. Our oldest, Steven, is 12 years old yet plays and runs as if he was 4. Not only better outstanding health, but his fur even shows a difference. He has been on this formula exclusively for over a year now. His fur used to be like petting a burlap sack. Now it is like petting fluffy cotton. His eyes are bright and shiny and he has maintained his good body weight. None of our 3 male cats have had any urinary tract problems whatsoever in the last 2 years. There is no other cat food than Hill's Science Diet.

about 6 years ago I had to rush my male cat to the emergency vets office on the weekend and cost me hundreds of dollars but it saved his life. He had a blockage and was unable to urinate, they were able to clear the blockage and the vet recommended C/D cat food and since he's been on that type of food he hasn't had any problems. Next year he'll be 16 years old!

Had a terrible time trying all the different types of urinary (prescription) foods and finally came upon Hill's c/d ocean fish and my cat with the issues, loves it! It is also fine for my other cats who are issue free! Make feeding time so much less stressful for me and the cats! Although it is more costly, I will continue to use it as the cost out weighs the end cost of sick cats.THANK YOU HILL's!

His prescription diet works well. Very good for his urinary problem.My cat loves the new ocean fish flavor but often have to order it as it's not carried regularly by the vet. The new velcro closure closes a lot easier than the old zipper and is much wider making it easier but the velcro also allows too much air in the bag.
