Personality

The Bloodhound is a noble breed, very loyal, and quite possibly the most laid back dog ever. They are exceptionally gentle with kids, so much so that you might need to make sure that the children arenโ€™t getting too rough with them, since the Bloodhound will just sit there and take it. They may be calm, almost to a fault, but that does not make them obedient. Their lackadaisical demeanor can have backlashes into the realm of obedience. Make sure you are firm with them if you hope to socialize them at all. And they should never be off leash, since they will be magnetically drawn to follow whatever scent trail their mighty nose picks up on. .

Color

Black and tan, liver and tan, or red. The darker colors are sometimes interspersed with lighter or badger-colored hair and some times flecked or roaned with white. White may also be found on the chest, feet, and tip of stern.

Bloodhounds are quite large, easily the largest of the hound family. They have a very strong back and a large head, with droopy ears and cheeks. The folds around their muzzle aid them in picking up smells by trapping scent particles. On average, Bloodhounds weigh around 90 - 110 pounds and are roughly 27 inches tall.
