This breed of ultra-smart cat is quite the social butterfly, therefore leaving your Javanese alone for extended periods of times can send them reeling into depression. They are very curious and responsive, and can be easily trained to ease up on their natural attention seeking characteristics, since they are going to want to be all over you otherwise. These cats love people!.

The Javanese cat can come in a wide array of colors and patterns.

Health Concerns

Though normally a healthy breed, Javanese cats are not completely free from illnesses. Severe diseases that affect this breed are:

  • Endocardial fibroelastosis
  • Protrusion of the cranial sternum

The Javanese cat has a long, silky coat that can come in a number of different colors. They have a lean, muscular body much like their Siamese cousin, with firm muscles and fine bones. Some might even call them โ€˜svelte.โ€™ Their high cheekbones and large, almond eyes give them that standard oriental look. Their powerful legs and lean frame make them natural acrobats. Their long, fluffy tail spreads out like a plume.
