HISTORY

Physicist, screenwriter, and cat breeder Paul Casey is credited with the development of the California Spangled Cat. Bred to look like a miniature Leopard in an attempt to increase awareness of the poaching of their full sized relative, the California Spangled took eleven long years, and a large amount of cross-breeding, to create. Part British Shorthair, Egyptian Feral Cat, Spotted Manx, Siamese, and many more, the California Spangled is one of the best examples of designer breeding.
