HISTORY

Burmese cats are all descendants of Wong Mau, a walnut-brown cat from Burma, that was bred with Siamese cats, resulting in this popular, flat-faced, shorthair breed. There are two separate subdivisions of this breed -- Burmese and Foreign Burmese -- but they are both the descendant of Wong Mau.
