What Is the Difference Between Bravecto and Bravecto Plus?
Answer

Bravecto Plus is a powerful topical solution formulated to prevent flea and tick infestations, as well as heartworms and intestinal parasites in cats. Itโ€™s made using fluralaner and moxidectin. It offers two months of protection against fleas, ticks, heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms. On the other hand, Bravecto is formulated using fluralaner only. While it prevents tick and flea infestations in cats, it doesnโ€™t provide broad-spectrum coverage against heartworms and intestinal parasites. Itโ€™s a good idea to consult your veterinarian to understand whether Bravecto or Bravecto Plus is the right choice for your cat.

What Does Bravecto Plus Cover for Cats?
Answer

Bravecto Plus Topical for Cats is a topical treatment that provides two months of adult flea and tick protection for cats. Also, it helps prevent heartworm disease in cats, and protects against intestinal parasites, such as roundworms and hookworms. Itโ€™s made using fluralaner and moxidectin. Bravecto Plus can be administered to cats and kittens who are more than 6 months of age, and weigh more than 2.6 lbs.

How Long Does It Take for Bravecto Plus to Work on Cats?
Answer

Bravecto Plus Topical Solution for Cats starts killing fleas and ticks in cats within the first 48 hours of application. It continues to treat flea and tick infestations for two months after you apply the medication to your catโ€™s skin. Also, it provides protection against heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms for the same duration.

How Do You Give a Cat Bravecto Plus?
Answer

Bravecto Plus Topical Solution for Cats comes in the form of a small tube with a handy applicator. To administer the product to your cat, take it out from its packaging and twist the cap to break its seal. Next, lay your cat horizontally on a stable surface and part the hair at the base of their skull. Directly apply Bravecto Plus from the tube to your catโ€™s skin. Applying the medication near your catโ€™s skull will eliminate any chances of licking. Also, if your cat weighs more than 13.8 lbs, youโ€™ll need to apply the medication at two spots. Itโ€™s recommended to talk to your vet before you apply Bravecto Plus Topical Solution to your cat.

Do Indoor Cats Need Bravecto?
Answer

Yes. Indoor cats are just as vulnerable to heartworm disease, parasitic infections, and flea and tick infestations. Leaving these infestations and diseases untreated can cause a wide array of ailments and discomfort to your cat. Thatโ€™s why it is necessary to use an effective and long-term treatment option, such as Bravecto Plus for Cats. Make sure you talk to an experienced veterinarian before you consider getting the topical solution for your cat.

What Happens if My Cat Licks Bravecto?
Answer

Both Bravecto and Bravecto Plus are topical medications that arenโ€™t meant for oral consumption. If your cat happens to lick the solution, it could lead to several adverse reactions, such as hypersalivation, elevated alanine aminotransferase, diarrhea, and vomiting. Also, fluralaner present in Bravecto and Bravecto Plus could trigger neurological symptoms, such as tremors and seizures. Thatโ€™s why it is important to prevent your cat from licking the medication. If they ingest the product by mistake, make sure you immediately book an appointment with your vet.

Is Bravecto Plus for Cats Safe?
Answer

Yes. Bravecto Plus is a scientifically formulated and tested topical treatment that prevents flea and tick infestation, as well as heartworm disease and intestinal parasites in cats. However, itโ€™s only effective for cats and kittens more than six months of age, and weighing at least 2.6 lbs. Also, the safety of Bravecto Plus hasnโ€™t been tested for pregnant, breeding, and lactating cats. Fluralaner, one of the principal ingredients of Bravecto Plus, is a member of the isoxazoline class of drugs. Such drugs are known to trigger adverse neurological symptoms in animals. So, if your cat has any neurological disorders, make sure you talk to your vet about the risks of administering Bravecto Plus.

What Parasites Does Bravecto Plus for Cats Protects Against?
Answer

Bravecto Plus Topical Solution for Cats offers two months of broad-spectrum coverage and protection against heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms. Also, it kills adult ticks and fleas, and prevents new infestations for up to two months.

Fluralaner and Moxidectin

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: The most commonly reported adverse reactions include vomiting, hair loss, itching, diarrhea, lethargy, dry skin, elevated ALT, and hypersalivation. BRAVECTO PLUS has not been shown to be effective for 2 months in kittens less than 6 months of age. For topical use only. Avoid oral ingestion. The safety of BRAVECTO PLUS has not been established in breeding, pregnant and lactating cats. Fluralaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Neurologic adverse reactions have been reported in cats receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in cats without a history of neurologic disorders. Use with caution in cats with a history of neurologic disorders. Use with caution in cats that are heartworm positive. The effectiveness of BRAVECTO PLUS to prevent heartworm disease after bathing or water immersion has not been evaluated.
