Meet Kali.
Last year, Kali found herself trapped inside a burning shed. The result of a heat lamp toppling over and causing the shed to ignite, Kaliโs barking alerted her parents to the situation, allowing for them to contain the fire to just the shed and sparing their house from any destruction. However, Kali was not quite so lucky, sustaining deep tissue burns on over half of her body.

Unable to afford what were sure to become enormous medical expenses, Kaliโs family had to make the difficult decision to leave her in the care of the vet techs at the Clermont Veterinary Hospital, praying that they could find a way to save their baby.
When she first arrived at the hospital, Kali was in critical condition. Her veterinarians were calling her burns โhorrific,โ saying that โtheyโll probably never see a case like this again.โ But thanks to the expert care provided her, along with tons of TLC, Kali is finally on track to make a full recovery -- minus a few patches of hair.

To many, Kaliโs story has been a wellspring of inspiration. Her tenacity and will to survive has touched the lives of thousands of people. โHer desire to live is what helped with the healing process,โ said Kimberly Hayes, Kaliโs caretaker at the Hospital.
A Facebook group was set up in order to help raise funds for Kaliโs medical bills, and the response has been outstanding. People from all across America (and even a few people across the pond) came out to lend their support, whether it was a prayer or a few bucks. Thanks to their generosity, Kali is now just a hop, skip, and a jump away from a being back up and running.
