Chihuahua and Kitten Bond to Survive Freezing Temperatures Until Rescue

Forced to face freezing temperatures, an unlikely pair bond together, proving that love really has no bounds.A

Chihuahua

was discovered on the evening of February 28th nursing an abandoned kitten outside of a familyโ€™s home in Barstow, California. Nicknamed Beignet (Chihuahua) and Gumbo (kitten) in honor of Mardi Gras, they were rescued after neighbors heard noises outside.

The comfort and love they provided for one another during their time of abandonment is absolutely inspiring. โ€œThey love each other. Thatโ€™s all there is to it. Itโ€™s not complicated. They needed each other and they were there for each other,โ€ said Labeth Thompson from Helen WoodWard Animal Center.

A Family of Two

The pair are now being treated at Helen Woodward Animal Center, where they will be fixed, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped.โ€œThis incredible little family really demonstrates the pure hearts of the orphan animals we meet each day.โ€ said LaBeth ThompsonBeignet & Gumboโ€™s official search for a forever home will begin as soon as both are well.
