Most of us go idly by, never stopping to think about how our cats are perceiving what is going on around them, which to a cat, might be very strange. “Where do you go all day?” “Why can’t I go on the couch?” “Where is your litter box?”

These are just a few of the questions that might be rattling around your kitty’s noggin. This day is dedicated to taking some time to put yourself into their shoes (or paws?).

This day is dedicated to setting aside some time to help those pets in need, whether by adopting, becoming a foster parent, or volunteering at a shelter. Every day, thousands of pets go without a loving home or people to look after them. If we all lend a hand, we can make a huge difference.

Seeing Eye Guide Dog Birthday - January 29

On this day we honor the anniversary of the incorporation of The Seeing Eye, the first school for training guide dogs in America. Founded in 1929, this school will have provided assistance to the blind for 85 years, giving many of these people a sense of independence, as well as a loyal companion.

Unchain A Dog Month

While many pet parents feel like it is better to give their dog the freedom to roam around their yard at their leisure, leaving your dog outside this time of year can result in a number of health complications, from dehydration to frostbite. In an effort to help make this winter more pleasant for dogs everywhere, PETA has taken the month of January to spread awareness about the importance of bringing dogs inside during the chilly months. So this year, be conscious of how the cold can affect your dog and make sure you do everything you can to keep them warm.
