HISTORY
One of the oldest, most well known breeds, the actual origin of the Siamese is difficult to pinpoint, but it is known that this cat comes from somewhere around Thailand (formerly Siam), and was believed to be a sacred animal. First spotted in Europe in 1871, this breed made quite a splash, being very different from the other, sturdier cats of Europe at the time. Used widely in crossbreeding, this cat was much sought after for their uniquely slender frame and interesting coloring.

Personality
The Siamese is quite a polarizing breed, in that you are not likely to meet a cat person who is lukewarm on this breed -- people either love em or hate em. And most people love 'em! They are very intelligent and very social, which means that they love to snuggle and are capable of learning how to manipulate their owners. On the same note, these cats hate being left alone, and are quick to let you know when they feel spurned. They are vocal cats who, like some other breeds, use a variety of different intonations to convey a wide range of emotions. They are also active, never turning down a game of fetch. .
Color
The original colorpoint, the Siamese is found in a few different variations in color, from a dark brown to black mask all the way up to a light cream.
Health Concerns
The Siamese cat breed is sensitive to anesthetics and also susceptible to:
Appearance
The very apex of the sleek cat appearance, the Siamese has a radically wedge shaped head that makes them look like they are designed to be aerodynamic. They have a long neck that accentuates their narrow face, giving them a regal appearance. Their shiny, short, flat coat only adds to their slender build. They have deep blue eyes that really pop, as it is the only bit of color found on this otherwise earth-toned cat. They have large, kite-like ears, and a trademark mask of color on their face, ears, paws, and tail, being the very origin of the colorpoint pattern.
