HISTORY
While the Pixiebob may look like a miniature bobcat, the actual background of this domestic breed began in 1986, when Carol Ann Brewer noticed that her litter of kittens (a mix between a domestic shorthair and a polydactyl spotted male cat of unknown origin) had a very unique, wild look to them. She continued to breed these interesting looking cats until, after a few generations, a breed was born. The fact that they resemble the Bobtail cat is just an awesome coincidence.

Appearance
Pixiebobs are wild looking cats, with a compact build, a large, pear-shaped head, almond-shaped eyes, and dense ear hair. Their tail ranges from 4 inches in length to virtually nonexistent. Colored on top and white on their underbelly, this cat looks just like a mini bobcat. Their longer hind legs make them look like they could really pick up some speed. Another unique feature of this breed is the color changing that their whiskers can undergo.
