It's important to protect cats from flea and ticks, but why pay top dollar for a big brand name?

ZoGuard Plus offers the same active ingredients, coverage, and guarantee as Frontline Plus at only a fraction of the price. ZoGuard Plus guarantees the same results and protection your cat needs, while also guaranteeing a lower price for your budget.

ZoGuard Plus contains fipronil, the key ingredient used in Frontline Plus, to deter parasites like fleas and ticks from getting to your cats. The other key ingredient, (S)-methoprene, breaks the flea life cycle to stop an infestation before it begins.

Does Zoguard Plus Work for Cats?
Answer

Zoguard Plus Flea and Tick treatment has been formulated specifically for cats. It is made of cat-safe ingredients that target pesky fleas and ticks that infest your cat's skin and coat. Not only does this work for cats, but it is also even safe for use in kittens over 8 weeks old.

Is Zoguard Plus as Good as Frontline?
Answer

Zoguard Plus has the same active ingredients as Frontline Plus. Zoguard Plus contains 11.8% fipronil and 8.8% (S)-methoprene. On the other hand, Frontline Plus contains only 9.8% fipronil though it contains 11.8% of (S)-methoprene. Fipronil is a potent treatment against ticks and fleas. If your cat has a severe infestation, you would potentially be better off choosing Zoguard Plus. In case of any confusion, always contact your veterinarian.

Where Do You Put Zoguard Plus on a Cat?
Answer

Because of the potency of the chemicals, you have to be very careful where you apply this treatment to your cat. Make sure you handle the tube carefully, wearing gloves if necessary. Strictly avoid contact with children. Fipronil can sometimes cause your eyes to water, so remember to wash your hands before and after you handle this medicine. Hold your cat and part their hair, invert tube and apply drops of this treatment between your cat's shoulder blades. Part cat's hair and ensure you apply the medicine directly to the surface of the skin instead of on top of the cat's fur. Make sure you hold your cat till the treatment is absorbed into the skin. When positioning the medicine, ensure you put it directly between the shoulder blades in an area your cat cannot lick. Rest assured that this medicine won't be affected in cases of water immersion or exposure, so you can keep bathing your kitty during the course of treatment. Remember that this medicine is for topical use only. You should take steps to ensure that your cat or other pets don't lick the area the medication is applied. If your cat is able to access the treated area, you could speak to your vet about getting an Elizabethan collar for the duration of the treatment.

How Fast Does Zoguard Plus for Cats Work?
Answer

The product label says that this medicine starts to kill fleas within 4 hours, though it can take up to 12 hours to begin working, depending on the severity of the infection. Fleas rise to the top of your cat's fur when they start dying, so you might notice more visible fleas in the first few days, though it will slow down as the flea population is depleted. Zoguard doesn't kill eggs on your cat, which is why it is recommended to treat your cat monthly for at least 3 months to break the flea life cycle. It also provides protection and kills fleas, ticks, and chewing lice for 30 days after application. It is effective even after bathing your cat.

How Does Zoguard Plus Work?
Answer

There are two active chemicals in Zoguard Plus that target different stages of the pest life cycle. (S)-Methoprene, one of the active ingredients, is part of a group of chemicals called insect growth regulators. This chemical prevents the flea larva from developing into adults, which in turn prevents the formation of new eggs and breaks the flea life cycle. It also contains Fipronil, the other active ingredient, which is one of the most effective and popular treatments against adult ticks and fleas on the market for both cats and dogs. Together, they break the flea and tick life cycle quickly and effectively.

Does Zoguard Plus Kill Fleas?
Answer

Yes, Zoguard Plus kills adult fleas and prevents flea larva from developing into adults. It also kills ticks, which can cause severe medical issues in your dogs like Lyme disease or even Rocky Mountain Fever. Finally, this product also combats mites that cause problems like sarcoptic mange.

Where Is Zoguard Made?
Answer

Zoguard Plus is made in the United States of America. It is an American product and is of the highest quality.

Is Zoguard Safe?
Answer

Zoguard is entirely safe to use on your cats as long as you strictly follow the manufacturer's directions for use. Since this product is a medicinal product that helps treat even severe infestations, it is obviously not safe to ingest. It is safe for topical use only and should be kept away from kittens younger than 8 weeks and children. It is perfectly fine for adults to handle and for use on adult cats and kittens older than 8 weeks of age.

Fipronil and S-methoprene

For external use only. Although rare, some sensitivity can occur when using pesticide products on animals. Speak with your vet to discuss any current medications and how it may react with ZoGuard Plus for Cats. Follow manufacturer instructions to ensure an overdose does not occur, as overdosing can cause serious illness or death. Speak with your vet if your cat is pregnant, nursing, using other medications, aged, or has any debilitations before treating your cat with ZoGuard Plus. Cats undergoing any skin dermatitis medications should speak with your vet before applying ZoGuard Plus for Cats.

Once removed from packaging, separate an individual tube from its grouping. Keep notched side of tube pointed up and away from your face and body. With scissors, cut the notched side with lines.

Using the cut end of the tube part your cat’s hair at the shoulder blades, and apply the treatment directly to your cat’s skin. Dose every 4 weeks, do not apply more treatments less than 4 weeks apart.

Temporary agitation may occur – supervise your cat’s skin and if any reactions persist, speak with your vet.
