My 4 month old boxer is not eating regularly. Some days he will eat all of his food other days he eats about 1/4 to 1/2 his food. Prior to Oct 8th, he was fine. Here is the series of events that happened. In mid-Sept the vet was treating him for a fungus on his left side (worm). On Oct 8th, he received his vaccination(distemper/parvo/corona/bordatella/intestinal parasite exam/drontal canine deworm). On Oct 11, we returned to the vet for a sprain left(rear) leg. The vet gave him a torbutrol injection and prescribed rimadyl caplets 25mg. We return to the vet on Oct 13th because my dog is not eating anything. The vet takes his blood give him polyflex and centrine injections and prescribes clavamox tabs (125mg), centrine tablets .2 mg and Nurtical 4.5 oz dietary supplement. While telling me to feed the dog ice cubes, if the dog continues not to eat. At this point, I go an do just as the vet states. This is all very stange. Young dogs do not usually contract liver infections. Are you sure your pet does not have an hepatic shunt? I recommend that you see another vet for a second opinion. I do not think any of the medication caused the problem you are seeing. Good luck, vetcare
