My young cat 1.5 y/o has had
periodic blood in his stools x 1 year. He's recently received 2nd dose of Pyrantel Pamoate from vet.
However, I still notice fresh
red blood the size of a dime
in his stools once in a while. What could be the
cause of blood in feces ?
Should I be alarmed that he's
got cancer ? He's FIV/FELV
negative and no worms detected in last stool sample.
Mnay different things can cause blood in the stool, including, parasites, infection, food allergy, inflammatory bowel dz, polyp, colitis, foreign body etc. I recommend a fecal culture, x-ray,scope and biosy of the intstines. You can also try a food trial. Good luck, vetcare
