No question, just a quick comment. I am very glad that you have no problem with declawing cats. As I'm sure you are aware, there are many that do and even some places (as in England) where it's actually illegal to have this procedure done. I fully realize it's painful and I'm sure distressing to the cat.
I absolutely adore all of mine, and it hurts ME to have them unhappy or in pain. However, there is an issue that no one seems to be aware of in the ongoing arguments about this. Those against always prattle about how selfish 'we' are, because we are doing it to save our furniture, or gardens or some other form of 'property'. They carry on about how they need them to protect themselves, and without them they are in such danger.
First, if you're allowing your cat to roam YOU are putting it in danger! I honestly do not know how many times we've removed and buried dead cats from the road. Spare me the excuse that they NEED the 'wild'. Do not! I have never had an outdoor cat
