My 10 year old cat has suddenly developed bad breath and lost weight. She is eating regularly and I have not changed her diet which consists of Purina Adult cat food (dry) which is always out and occasionaly (once or twice a week) a can of moist food divided between the 3 of them. I am concerned because she has never had bad breath before and this seems to have developed within the last week, though she has lost a bit of weight over the last month. Her teeth look to be in good condition and I am not noticing a change in her litter habits.
I recommend that you bring your pet to the vet for a check up and a blood test. Your pet may have a metabolic dz or gingivitis. a vet should look at your pet b/c I worry about the weight loss. Good luck, vetcare
