I thought my cat had ear mites, but the medications for ear mites are inneffective. I clean her ear out every other day and the little brown spects just keep coming back. When the vet checked her ear and shone the light down her ear cannal, there was no movement and I guess when mites get warm they start to move around. Also, these spots are localized around the base of the inside of her ear, but not down the cannal. They don't spread either because her other ear is fine and both of my other cat's ear are fine. She's had this for about two months now. So if it's not mites, what could it be and how might I treat it?
It couls be a bacterial infection ar an allergy?? Ask your vet to culture the material in the ear and to look for mites under the microscope. Maybe you will be able to get a diagnosis and treat effectively. Thanks, vetcarerx vet team
