I have 2.5 acres in Florida and have been reading about the advantages of diatomaceous earth for flea control. With an area this large, any other chemical option is really out of the question, not only due to environmental concerns and possible well contamination, but for the $$ involved to treat such a large area at personal expense. The part that piqued my curiousity had to do with using the earth in small amounts in your animals diet. Is this truly a good way to keep parasitic pests to a minimum without harming the pet? Do you recommend this type of approach. I use Advantage now for flea control, but every time I let the dogs out it seems they drag some fleas back in until the dumb flea realizes its supposed to be dying. Any advice or thoughts?
I have never heard of this, sorry. Maybe your local vet has???? vetcare
