My dog of 16 years is hard of hearing, doesn't see very well, and is beginning to slow down considerbly. When the time comes for euthaniasia, is there a way to administer the drug myself? My dog has a very hard time with rides in autos and I would hate to have him go through the anxiety in his last hours. Also, being a German Shepard, he is super protective of his land, and dislikes any strangers. To have a vet come to the house and administer the drugs would be unacceptable for the same reason. Any help would be appreiciated.
Sorry, but there is no way you can administer the drug yourself b/c it is against the law. Your best bet is to ask your vet for a sedatve then have your pet PTS. Sorry, vetcare
