How can we prevent our cat from scratching on the same spot, over and over. The sore is already the size of a nickel. We have checked the area and found nothing abnormal. Samantha is a 7 year old mixed persian. What should we put if anything on the sore? How can we prevent her from licking it off? The sore is on her upper left side almost at the end of her rib cage.
Thanking you in advance for your recomendations,
The fact that it is a sore IS abnormal and it should be addressed by a vet. This could be a lick granuloma or an eosinophilic plaque which is best treated with cortisone. You can put some cortisone cream on it for now as long as the cat does not lick it all off. vetcare
