my 14 yr. old female cairn terrier recently was spayed and now when she eats she vomits her food up, sometimes it takes a few hours before she does, what could be causing this problem? she did have pyrometra but she came through the surgey and has been doing great except for this recent problem.
I do not think that the surgery is related to the vomiting. Your pet may have a stomach virus, a reaction to the anesthesia, may be sensitive to the food you are feeding her or may have other problems such as renal dz. I recommend that you hold her off food for 24 hrs and allow her gut to rest then try boiled beef and rice for a few days. If this does not help then I recommend that you go back to your vet. Good luck, vetcare
