We have a small dog that we adopted at 5 years old. When we leave to go to work, he stands there and shakes and cries. We keep him in the kitchen because when we have tried to give him the run of the house, he goes to the bathroom. Sometimes it almost seems as if he does it because he's mad that we leave. We tried at one time to crate train him but he dirtied in there too. He's fine traveling in the car with it though. Sometimes he can go the whole day with no accidents but recently he's been going in the kitchen every day. We're getting tired of washing the floor and rugs everyday! We do let him out in the morning for at least 15 minutes before we leave and have refrained from feeding him until after we get home from work. Any suggestions???
Does your pet go to the bathroom int he house when you are home??? If not, then it soulds like your pet has separation anxiety. I usually treat this with Clomicalm and behavioral modification. Talk to your vet about it. vetcare
