I have a 9.7 lbs. 2 yr. old
yorkeshire terrier. For the past 5 days he has been vomiting small amounts
of a white liquid and has
been passing very thick, black, puddles of blood. He has not been wanting to eat, but has been drinking fine. I've taken him to the vet and his urine is clear; his feces is clear and he is not running a fever.
The vet has taken blood samples and told me to withhold food for 24 hours and watch him closely over night. He is thinking it may be colitis or pancreatitis. What are your initial thoughts? I am very worried.
I agree with your vet but if your pet is still sick then I recommend that you go back to the vet b/c he can become dehydrated very quickly. IV fluids will probably be beneficial. vetcare
