My 11 year old female Dalmation has a enlargement, like a purple 'tumor', on her underbelly above the third nipple. It started about 6 months ago and is slowly growing. She has never been neutered. My friend had the same growth on her male spaniel and her dog unfortunately died several days after the 'tumor' was removed. She seems to be in no pain and doesn't react to touching it, but I am afraid to have it removed and have her go thru the surgery and the anxiety surrounding it. She has never liked other dogs (though loves people) and has enormous stress at the vets. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Your pet should be seen by a vet. There is not much I can do over the internet for a lump on the breast. This could be something serious such as breast cancer or it could be a benign mass. vetcare
