Is there some way, once a dog is showing signs of the virus to treat the dog? We have lost 3 puppies to this virus, two of these were 2 years ago, and the other was a seven week old, we had only had a week. The five month old we have was healthy, until the seven week old, brought the virus with him.
Dogs must be vaccinated for parvo virus. This is the best way to prevent it. It is a virus so the puppy needs suportive care in a hospital with IV fluids and IV antibiotics. Sometimes, even the most aggressive treatment doesn't help. You acn try antibiotics at home but the prognosis is very poor. Vaccination is the key. Sorry, vetcare
