My 5 month old Catahola Leopard hound had two days of very bad diaherrea, I gave him Pedilyte the first day and withheld any food. the second day I was told to mix white rice and cottage cheese together for the next couple of days until it was out of his system. As a puppy he tends to eat anything he finds on the ground, especially if we are out walking. He ate something at the night before while I was giving his last walk for the day and I could not tell what it was that made him so sick. How can I prevent him from snarfing up everything he sees? He has been trained but when it comes to food, all bets are off. He constantly eats out of my other dogs bowl after completing his food, unless I stay right there to prevent. Any suggestions on this type of behavior?
Well, you have to watch him with a close eye, or feed the dog separately. You can also give him treat while walking so he is less likely to pick up other things. That is your best bet. If the dog still has diarrhea, I recommend a visit to the vet. vetcare
