our l yr old male tabby cat has problems with scabbie areas around his neck, head, spine, and tummie areas from scatching. We've taken him to the Vet 4 wks. ago. was treated with an application of advantage for fleas (no fleas were found on him) and a steroid injection. Within days he started feeling & looking better. Although in the past week he has started scatching and has more scabbie areas. Picked up more advantage from Vet & was told that I coulde apply it a week early. I am concerned about why he's still having a problem. Also, we had a problem with our dog having fleas which we treated a week ago with advantage. Would appreciate any helpful advice on how to treat this problem which my cat suffers from. Thank you very much for your help.
This could be a flea allergy which does not get better unless you treat the fleas. One flea bite can couse this type of reaction. Good luck, vetcare
