My cat is an indoor cat. She is 11 years old. Sometime in February she started vomiting. Sometimes it was her food and other times it was a hairball. She has seen a vet twice. Each time the vet gave her a shot because she had little red bumps under her chin and on her back near her tail. This explains all the scratching shes been doing to herself. The vet has prescribed Z/D Low Allergen Diet. This is the only food she is to eat. The vet said that as they get older their tummies become very sensitive. Although she doesn't vomit as much, she still does here and there. This can't be normal. What could be wrong?
It is not unusual for cats to vomit periodiclly. If the vomiting occurs more then 2-3 times weekly then I recommend bloodtests and an abdominal x-ray. Many things can cause this including hyperthyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney disease, cancer. etc. vetcare
