My dog is a 14 year old, mixed breed and she has been wetting the bed in her sleep. We have encountered this matter earlier this year and last year. We have been given medication for this and it seemed to work the first time, the second time it didn't help and the vet suggusted that we also give her sodium bicarbonate. Ande they checked her blood. Eventually she did stop wetting the bed, however, she has started up again. I do not think the medicines will help as I feel it did not do much the last time, it just increased her water intake. We had just been the the vet last week for her annual vaccinations. Is this just part of old age? Do you have any possible diagnosis that I should look into?
It sounds like your pet is incontinent with happens to some animals when they get older. I recommend that you try phenylpropanolamine and keep her on it. It does not work well if you take her on and off the meds. vetcare
