One day my St. Bernard was fine and then out of the blue she was diagnosed w/ bone cancer. I thought she just hurt her front left leg by running around so when I took her to the Dr. he took 3 x-rays felt around her pad and diagnosed her with bone cancer. I was in shock. He told me to give it 2 weeks put her on Etogestic and Baytril and see if she feels better. He said at that point they would do more x-rays and determine how fast it is spreading. Is there anything I can do to save my dog? She is only 8 years old the best personality and my families best friend. I will do anything however my Dr. did not want to give me false hope. Is ther any hope?
If the cancer has not spead to the chest then amputation is her best chance. You have to understand that her long term prognosis is not good even with amputation. Sorry, vetcare
